If you click the 3ds image share button you can use your home button again. Add your friend and then click on the game icon and your gates will still be open.

There's nothing that's really going to look like those bathroom stalls. I think the closest you could get is with the Alpine Closet, refurbishing it so the wood is dark, and either make a custom fabric or have the doors face the wall. I doubt it'll even resemble bathroom stalls, though.
