Can I add on? What if Dr. Idabashi while being the mastermind who set up this killing game to strengthen Kiibo by learning the SHALL talents and the tricks they used to kill each other.... what if upon all that scheming Dr Idabashi isn't the TRUE villain? Like we get some hint towards something greater at the end like Idabashi being a member of an organization. They would help fund for Idabashi's experiments but at the same time would be using him as well. Same organization could be what Rantarou may be after if he has some role in this and explains why he seems to know "something" the others don't including Idabashi himself.

This same organization could also be connected with Shuuichi. Maybe Idabashi might have known this and named the school Saishuu Academy as a pun to Saihara Shuuichi which when being shortened can be Saishuu.

I'd usually have some intense ass theory to go with it or at least try to make it make sense in the timeline I've created but can't really. I want to get locked in an airtight school and fix her with hope.
