Life Skills can be learned anytime so don't bother right away
Alts are really useful, just make like 5 right away and then leave them there at the tutorail, energy caps and knowledge is shared in the family so they'll all have the same energy and they regen 1 every 30 minutes while you're not playing with them. Pick them up whenever you want to do some other shit, you'll eventually specialize them to do that one thing, like farming, trading, fishing, alch/cooking whatever. They will probably all get some gathering anyway
Don't bother capturing horses if you don't feel doing the minigame, you can buy a t3 with shitty stats at 200k on the market and use that until you decide to start horse breeding. You can also get slightly better horses for a couple of millions, too


If you have the urge to collect information about life skills on an excel sheet, DON'T
It'll eat through your enjoyment in a second and you'll end up hating yourself for it

Well, if you want to be safe follow the black spirit and speak to all npcs with a dialogue icon in the mini map and do all quests,
quests give useful things like inventory slots and resources like contribution points and they will slowly teach you how to do various things
like fishing, processing, crafting etc, you could focus on xp and reach 40 in like 2-3 days but then you will have to back track hard since a lot of quests are chains, so its up to you.
Personally i did everything slowly and enjoyed every little thing i found how to do.

There's lots of shit in this game, you will probably be a little lost but just take it easy.

If you want rare drops then get the node to around lvl 5, I've been hearing people say that node lvl past lvl 5 appears to influence drop rates. Personally I think it's all rng so I've ignored it. If you choose to ignore that then get the node to lvl 10, this causes mobs to always drop a trash/turn in item, except for maybe sausans been awhile since i've been there.

If you want rare drops/a better chance at rare drops get S rank on the mobs you're killing. Park an Alt in calpheon or spend a bunch of loyalty on elixir's of oblivion or whatever they're called. Shouldn't take more than a week or so to get all S rank, that's assuming bad luck.

If you're farming pirates then connect the node to valencia, assuming you have the contribution. Save up coins and then do a turn in whenever you want in valencia, bargain for more money and if you have it activate the master 2 trade buff from sanctum sharing.

If farming elsewhere then find an area with good mob density that you can clear in a loop fairly well and you'll earn a consistent amount of silver per hour that way. Last time I farmed Pirates, which was about a month or two back I was earning at least 5-6 mil an hour, at most 10 mil or so an hour.

Also make sure you're geared enough for whatever you're killing. If you can kill it in one roation of abilities I'd say that you're doing fine, anything more than that, with the exception of the big mobs that just soak a bunch of dmg for little reason, and you're fine. Haven't really gotten into them fully but here's my understanding of it.

Do dailies until you get 200 ish CP, 250 CP is better and at 300 you're a god. Set up a worker empire to gather materials for crates, in this case what comes to mind is Titanium/vanadium, Brass/Bronze, Wood for Calpheon(Fir, Birch and Cedar) and Mediahn(Acacia and White Cedar[Different wood than Cedar, dont mix them up]) crates, if you want to farm then there are crates for that, haven't dabbled into them myself so I don't know how worthwhile they are currently checking what they sell for atm.

You then process the materials your workers are gathering, Birch Fir and Cedar as an example, to make crates, in this case Calpheon Timber Crates, and then you turn them in to a trade vendor, usually this is passive income which is useful. If you have master 2 trading you essentially double the income that you are making. The farther you take these crates from where they are produced the more they sell for as well. The highest this bonus can go to is ~110% bonus, not counting bargaining bonus. Most people make crates in Trent and take em to Valencia or Arehaza or Ancado Harbor.

That's for Crates.

For Imperial trading/Crates you have workers gather materials needed to craft a specific good and then create a Imperial package that you then trade in to imperial delivery people.

As an example of the above people with make Tea With Fine Scent, which takes Mineral Water(From an Innkeep/cooking material vendor), Fruit(From a farm or gathered from NPC farms or from a node near Olvia[Grapes]), Honey(Alejandro Farm node or gathered with hunting I think) and a Flower(Most people that i've seen use Sunflowers as you can grow them on a farm).
They gather a fuck ton of the above, then craft a fuck ton of tea with fine scent. You then take 30 tea with fine scent, and turn them into 1 to I think 2,3 maybe 4 packages(They can proc multiple packages from the craft, haven't done it myself so I don't know for sure) You then turn that package in to an imperial delivery person in any major city for ~200,000 silver per package or a little less.

You can also fish, keeping yellow fish that you get and then getting the master 2 trading buff and selling the fish in valencia after fishing in epheria as an example(the distance bonus for trading applies to fish too). If you don't get yellow fish often or are still leveling fishing then you can turn the fish into the fish delivery people in Maybe altinova, for sure in Glish and Velia.

These are just examples,if you go to http://www.blackdesertfoundry.com/2015/05/03/all-recipes/ you can check the imperial packages that are available for crafting, see which ones you want to make and then set about finding what you need that way. You can only turn in i believe 1/2 of your total contribution in packages either per imperial delivery person or per day, I believe it's the former.

By sending them via transport i lower the chance/eliminate the chance of being attacked by bandits, and I save myself quite a bit of hassle/time spent that I could be beating off or grinding with.

Thats fine, the problem is catch up mechanisms come along with any higher level area releases. There is no reason to level past a certain level in this game, not even simply to be a higher level.

One of the cornerstones of a good grinder is being efficient at grinding, and waiting is the most efficient way to grind this game. The gains you can make are not permanent.

I mentioned pvp because i could see grinding for a temporary advantage as being a reasonable thing to do IF pvp was meaningful, but its not, so there really is no reason to go past ~58 intentionally right now for awakening skills.
