Reposting in new thread incase someone has any info, Thanks to the guys that replied but that wasnt what I wanted, I want either concrete proof its PS only or Namco having said they will bring it to other consoles

It's nice to see /aceg/ so lively again. Really.

We have no details. But it all points to the PS4 with the PSVR and whatnot.

You can remain hopeful, but I have my doubts for Xbox or PC versions.

The trailer only lists the PS4 at the end and Namco Bandai basically never announces a game for the West without also announcing every platform it is coming to.

Furthermore, there's this post from a while ago:
>I was just snooping around on the official AC websites, and I found myself in the source code for AC7's official website. You can view it by going to view-source:http://ace-7.bn-ent.net/
>The website's description can be found on this line:
><meta name="description" content="PS4専用ソフト『エースコンバット7』バンダイナムコエンターテインメント公式サイト">
>The description roughly translates to "PS4 exclusive software "Ace Combat 7" official website by Bandai Namco Entertainment".

It's PS4 exclusive, get over it already and stop shitting up the threads with port begging, whining, and questions about it.

Also, fuck you @ the sonyggers shitting up the thread as well. You're no fucking better than the people you're insulting.

This tbqh. For now, all signs point to it being an exclusive. No point in discussing it any further until launch or Bandai themselves say otherwise.

I have no issue with it being exclusive, I want to know if it is or not because theyve been very ambiguous about it, which is the opposite of what you do with exclusives.
>>
>>161773042
Yup. While it mentions PS4, it didn't say the word "Only for...", "Exclusive on...", or anything similar like on Ace Combat Infinity's trailer.

In all honesty, If they had been consistent with AC being PS exclusive I dont think anyone would give a shit but theyve been patchy as hell since 0, Namco dont know what the fuck theyre doing anymore it seems. PC communities are as bad as Xbox and PS communities though, youre grasping at the wrong straws

When I browsed through Google and Bamco's website I noticed that all of Bamco's Playstation exclusive games other than Ace Combat are either requiring VR (like Summer Lesson) or only have Japanese audio (like Sword Art Online and Gundam). If AC7 goes on as PS4-exclusive forever, it'll be Bamco's only nee game with English audio available to be Playstation-exclusive.

So, Erusea is actually a Kingdom. Taking the Usean continental rebellion of Ace Combat 2 into account, the Erusean royal family must have been exiled by the fascists who presumably took over the country after the end of the war and Ulysses left much of the continent in poor shape. Fast forward to Ace Combat 04 and ISAF, who too formed out of the ashes of the rebellion, beats back the fascist Democratic Republic of Erusea, defeating and occupying them for a time. Operation Katina thereby takes place and Mobius 1 is deployed against Free Erusea who tries to fight the occupation but to no avail. Following this, ISAF reinstates the monarchy, and Erusea once again becomes a Kingdom.

Its all very muddy, but the reason theres such a buzz over if it will be Multiplat or not is because of Bamcos recent managing of their products these past few years, its all really up in the air at this point. I also think that theyd know theyd be shafting themselves out of a moderately large VR market that is already established on PC, so we really gotta hope the higher ups see it the same

Did you ever finish it?

There's a mission where you literally fly into mars' core or something. (as well as one where you kill NAVIGATOR who is a giant fucking alien... thing, and one where you destroy a supply base or something that's a bit underwhelming but vaguely depressing. <<i don't see rescue ships>>)

I did like how they sort of went "Oh, you like superweapons? Okay. Every major mission gets a superweapon!"

I did not, however, appreciate their decision to stick certain aircraft (including my beloved A4 Skyhawk) with only unguided rockets and bombs, no sidewinders.

Always hoped for a AFDStrike on DS (hey, if 1 was on GBC and 2 was on GBA, only logical to a kid, right?) but it never happened.

You're a dumb piece of shit, you know that? I only ever use a name when posting my twitch or talking about something relevant to my twitch. That's the only time when I'll ever use a name, but I don't really care if people use names otherwise.

Incidentally, I wouldn't mind a discord or whatnot if it didn't cause the thread to devolve into nonstop shitposting, which always happens.

Could be, certainly; /wtg/ is self-hating, different environment. Other groups like /wowg/ and bigger groups tend to have massive issues due to how they interact with each other; discord/TS tends to exacerbate this problem, like with /bfg/ becoming FREE/BFG/BFG.

Incidentally I think you missed most of the TS shitposting. The thread has been totally unusable before. >>
>>161789928
eh. for time reasons I'd manage to dodge fighting in most of the wars, and my impression of Yuktobania and Belka in particular is that they're not that bad nowadays. (The Grey-Men thing seemed like it'd be a relative footnote outside Sudentor and the massive political ramifications.)
Estovakia seems to be the most "And then it got worse" of the countries. Erusia we'll have to wait and see what AC7 brings. (Though the development of countries in Usea in AC4 did seem strange to me - are they at ~Latin American levels or what? They seemed strangely poorer than what we've got now, but definitely not third world.)
It did occur to me that if I was Osean or Yuktobanian I'd have the uncomfortable experience of seeing my Father conscripted and being old enough to know what that means, though.

On a tangent, isn't USEA (in AC3 when it's more country than continent) weird? It's got that 1990s thing of a united Europe to it. Like in sims where you'd occasionally get to fly a Typhoon for the European Air Force as the third superpower between the USA and Russia/China. (p.s. Gabriel Clarkson did nothing wrong.)

General concerns about Bamco's ability to create a good game aside, almost all of the actual material we've seen so far looks great except this. This is a genuine red flag.

I'd be willing to give the guy an honest chance if he just happened to be involved in an aspect of the game that went south, but the fact that they keep playing up his involvement in 5 in particular instead of 4 (where he was also a writer for the story) seems to indicate it might be drawing more from 5. Goondam with planes was bad enough the first time around lads, it just makes for atrocious storytelling. What we saw looked fine in the trailers but even AC5's story trailers looked good.

Basically, AC is fun because you play as Chad. Chad has that kind of life IRL, and peons still get shit on by everyone else. If you lived in the AC world it would probably just end up the same way.

>>161791149
Nah, I know the best I could hope for would be to pick up a Cessna at some point. It's not ace fantasies that want me there.

Honestly, it's a lot of projection. I like to imagine that in ace-combat the Keynesian consensus never ended, almost as a necessity to maintain large armed forces and a reasonable living standard as we're shown in the games. While there seems to be some elements of post-1980s economic globalism in Ace Combat's world, it seems far more limited and financialization of the economy doesn't seem to have occurred - countries still fight over raw resources, whereas in our world a proper war would send markets into chaos and make that a crazy policy decision. This retention of domestic control would render democracy in AC far more effective. One could also choose to read into how Vincent Harling was elected on a pledge to redirect military spending to space - something unthinkable in the current USA, even though the USA faces far less threat than Osea. [There are other parts to this I'd infer - better wages, lower unemployment, lower rates of personal debt, etc. A fair price to pay for the risk of B-52s toss-bombing your house en-route to Aubry AFB.

That's before we get into weighing up the electrosphere v. the Facebook-Google-NSA-GCHQ privacygeddon. Overall, I feel that Strangereal has the potential for a positive future at some point (and a better chance of spacefaring) where our world is spiralling into a nightmare of corporate control that would make Aldair Carlos Nascimento blush, and which not even detonating various nuclear weapons to defend an arbitrary border could slow. A lot of it IS because I'm able to read too much into things. For all I know North Point elected someone like Tony Blair. But overall I doubt it.

On a less fanfiction-y note, there's also the composition of armed forces being far nicer - F-4 phantoms and F-5 tigers are operated alongside F-22s instead of being retired. That's very nice.

Get out of here, reddit.

Keynes was a literal meme economist whose disastrous theory led us into the quagmire we're in today. Ironically the corporatism you (rightfully) deride is only made possible by socialists, Keynesians, and other well-intentioned morons who give the government more power over the economy and turn a blind eye when the politicians dole out favors and twist the rules to benefit their equally rich buddies. Keynes is what gave rise to corporatism, not its balm.

Also, the US won’t go into space because these same well-intentioned morons have locked the nations of the world into a moronic series of treaties that ban stationing any weapons in space or claiming any extraterrestrial body in the name of a single nation. Without any of the above reasons or an ideological enemy to combat, no one really wants to go to space except a bunch of nerds who want to spend billions of taxpayer dollars because they think it will be just like Star Trek.

While we’re at it, democracy has corroded because luxury was made the common people lazy and weak and unwilling challenge themselves as much as is necessary to develop into productive citizens. Add this to a compulsory public education (for all except the very rich, of course) in the hands of Cultural Marxists who consider it more important that kids walk away with the "right" political views than actual facts, and you start seeing a simplification of politics and the formation of a narrative and a counter-narrative. These two effects combine to make politics a form of entertainment, an alternative to sports, a place where people can root for "their team" and boo for the "other team", not a place where we make decisions that can have grave effects on all of us.

tl;dr, the economic polices you prize are unlikely to produce the kind of society you seem to value.

>While we’re at it, democracy has corroded because luxury was made the common people lazy and weak and unwilling challenge themselves as much as is necessary to develop into productive citizens
t. Waldemarr Rald

Ironic you should post Pinnochet given the neoliberal economic policies he implemented are the fundamental building block of globalism (yes, it appears that greed, not cultural marxism, is the primary driver of both outsourcing and mass immigration!) Keynes sought nothing but to save capitalism from itself. If you're a socialist or communist, there's much reason to be glad that the neoliberals think they know better.

p.s. Keynesianism already delivered the society I want to live in: 1960s-70s Britain. Saudi oil price manipulation and the collapse of Breton-Woods are external forces that caused the stagflation that provided the pretence to destroy the postwar consensus and end the golden age of capitalism. Here's a graph for the USA - wages and productivity start to diverge in the 1970s - as these set in - and diverge exponentially beyond that as more and more neoliberal deregulatory policies are set in place.

>better wages
pic
>lower unemployment
the purpose of keynesian economics is to control unemployment. excessive inflation is the downside to this. it's trivial to just stick people in the army.
>lower rates of personal debt
admittedly this isn't just keynesianism, but tighter regulations on lending made this true until the 80s.

Two final points:
Isn't it funny in the internet, a place almost immune to regulation, that instead of seeing a thriving market of viable google/facebook competitors we see a near monopoly arise? It's almost like monopolies aren't automatically stopped by the free market after all.

I'm incredibly unhappy that you've decided to do this, because now instead of a vague discussion about strangereal we've a discussion about our doomed planet, which isn't just depressing it's also off topic.
>>

Also, I've never gotten the pressure sensitive buttons to work on Windows with PCSX2. They've only ever worked on linux.
>>
>>161797298
>It's almost like monopolies aren't automatically stopped by the free market after all.

Never claimed that though. There's a fundamental difference between antitrust action and more aggressive intervention in the economy. One of the most basic ideas of liberalism (in the classical sense) is the division of powers to ensure that no one has too much power over anyone else. The government's job is to provide a framework to let the economy remain free and open, not to shape it to the will of some arrogant intellectual.

>yes, it appears that greed, not cultural marxism, is the primary driver of both outsourcing and mass immigration!

More like people on all sides of the political spectrum are coming together on an issue for different reasons. Progressives love the idea of a borderless world and rich businessmen love cheap labor. That's not an excuse for corruption or bending the rules though, irrespective of who does it. And a nation has a right to set standards for who else can become a part of their country. No individual has a right to supersede the law, even if they are rich.

>Keynesianism already delivered the society I want to live in: 1960s-70s Britain

You want to live in what was once the greatest civilization in the world right AFTER it cucks itself out of its greatest achievement?
>>
>>161798418
Empires were a mistake.
They simply sucked up national resources and weren't that profitable.
>>
>>161798418
>the division of powers to ensure that no one has too much power over anyone else
Which will eventually lead one to "new liberalism" (read: recognizing the threat of starvation if one doesn't take a poverty tier factory job gives the employer far too much power over the employee.) and a welfare state.

One must reiterate that the aim of Keynesian policies was in large part to stave off communist or fascist revolution, which would also remain (within the practical, messy reality of politics) consistent with that goal.
>Progressives love the idea of a borderless world and rich businessmen love cheap labor
Progressives have been sold a lie. If you look at the embracing of mass-immigration, it always comes at the period of treachery in a centre left party. (Tony Blair for example.)

Since it doesn't fit neatly elsewhere: A nation also has the right to set standards for who can trade with their country. Free trade globally was a massive mistake for the west. Especially in currency speculation.

>You want to live in what was once the greatest civilization in the world right AFTER it cucks itself out of its greatest achievement?
It didn't cuck itself out of it. America cucked it out of it by mandating it get rid of the imperial preferential trade agreement in favour of le free trade meme (and betraying them in Suez.)

>>161798549
Honestly I'm open to the idea of empires over globalism. At least empires notionally give you the responsibility to care for the people you exploit, build nice shiny airports and that sort of thing. Modern neoliberal capitalism bleeds everyone dry except the nationless finance class at the top.
>>

This. Keynesian is just socialism-lite. I don't understand how anyone can honestly defend Keynesian economics when it's a system purposely set up for failure. It's like Obamacare; when it fails the Keynesians argue that the only solution is even more government control/intervention. This is what prominent Keynesians like Krugman ("The iternet will never amount to anything more than the fax machine!") argue every time their dumb stimulus plans argue.

>>161797298
Your chart is absolutely useless because it assumes that the higher productivity requires more skill from the worker, when the fact the opposite is true. Why should a worker get paid more for producing more of a product when his job is far easier and requires far less skill than before? Not to mention as our economy as evolved to a service based economy "productivity" is a stat that has lost its relevance. The QUALITY of a service is far more important to people than the quantity that a company can shit out.

The personal debt thing is a non issue since obviously people from the 60s will have less personal debt than people now do since they didn't have credit cards back then.

Interview #01
‘The Strategist’

Sudentor, Belka
15 Oct, 2005

Grun 1
Bernhard ‘Owl’ Schmidt
Belkan Air Force / 10th Air Division / 8th Tactical Fighter Squadron

A man with the eyes of an owl.
Fighting with distinguished service on the battlefield, he quickly earned the title of ‘Ace’ with his uncanny ability to adapt to the flow of battle.

“I had a bad feeling when I was flying towards the Round Table.
Why were they having problems downing two mercenaries?
I figured it was just temporary chaos and it would be over by the time I got there.
The pilots of the Belkan Air Force are true professionals, but when I saw the situation I couldn’t believe my eyes.”

“I thought maybe my IFF was malfunctioning. There were still two enemies on the radar.
Everyone else in my squadron had the same reaction, ‘This is really happening...’.”

“Every now and then, guys like that appear on the battlefield. Someone special, you know?
I squinted my eyes and confirmed the situation; checked the terrain, air currents, his plane, his maneuvers and his remaining ammo.
I figured I could do it.”

“I knew what I was getting into, but he still outmaneuvered me beyond my expectation.”

If I recall it right, Tekken 7 was initially only announced for PS4 before being announced for Xbox One and PC. It can be either Bamco is passionate in expanding the fanbase or, as in ACAH's case, only want to rake more money and then leave out the non-PS fanbase of future titles. While we're at it, are there any Bamco games that went the same route other than ACAH and Dark Souls?

I'm starting to get really worried that because of the VR they're going to set controls to right stick directional left stick throttle and I can't handle that shit. As 100% left hand dominant I need controls to be on the left stick for any kind of precision.
>>
>>161825842
Why would they change the controls like that? Doesn't make any more or less sense than just leaving it as is, especially considering that you'll also have a ton of people playing the game that don't have a PSVR, and they'll want to use the stick to look around.

That said, they tend to have the classic control scheme in there somewhere so far even with AH.

One would think they'd have options to switch the controls. (one would thin)
>>
>>161826336
I'd imagine they'll have options. It'd be really odd for them to tailor the controls just for VR when most of the people playing probably won't have a PSVR.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I still don't quite understand why console games don't let you remap things freely most of the time.

No, as mentioned that was a combination of:
Political inconvenience (The raw Keynesian system could've been retained if Labour had imposed "In place of strife" during the 1966-1970 Wilson government. Also, if Ted Heath had won 1974 as he did with the popular vote, he could have imposed similar legislation while also taking the blame for ongoing stagflation [we'll get to that] leading to a Callaghan or Healey administration that may not've gone full neoliberal.)
International circumstance (Saudi oil-price shock, End of Breton-Woods, resultant knock-on effects of a generally poor global economy.)

Ah no. Fuck it. Based Maggie saved the economy and singlehandedly strangled every Argentinian in the Falklands. She never proposed anything harmful to the interests of this country, and she certainly didn't try to sell Vulcan bombers to our soon-to-be enemies, aircraft carriers to anyone who'd take them and otherwise strangle our armed forces before doing a volte-face when they saved her election prospects in 1983.

Just because I think 70's UK was a shit tip doesn't mean I believe that Thatcherite politics were much better. Indeed, Thatcher was the direct result of the failure of Keynesian economics. Once again it is "my specific brand of communism hasn't been tried" philosophy. It just doesn't work, or at the very least not for long because it is an objectively bad system and nobody likes it. And just like other forms of communism/socialism, absolute greed of man always wins over, my grandfather, a simple greengrocer made enough money to buy 2 Rolls Royces and a few Mustangs in the 70s, simply because he was able to sell salt and sugar at ridiculous prices during the fuel and coal crisises.

>Thatcher was the direct result of the failure of Keynesian economics
It wasn't a failure of Keynesian economics though. It was a supply shock that was mitigated as a function of time. You could've had neoliberal meme policies in place and the 1970s would still have been a disaster.

I'm almost tired of defending it, though. Like I said, it's not coming back. Enjoy 2% growth forever, the continued decline of the west, crashing job security and general untold human misery because surely letting the market decide a worker in London is as valuable as a worker in Beijing (with a consequential plunge in the former's wages and living standards) is better than nasty old state intervention.

If you want to get into sticking up for the current meme system than go ahead. Frankly, I'm glad we'll never get to space properly so that it will die on earth with the rest of us.

>other forms of communism/socialism
This bit annoys me, though. Enough that I'm compelled to reply again.
The single purpose of Keynesianism is to save capitalism. Keynesian policy is fundamentally capitalist. The means of production broadly remain in private hands (nationalizing key industries is a policy decision, not an economic prescription.) under Keynesianism.

Comparing that to socialism (Means of production in worker hands, or stretching to the USSR, ALL the means of production in state hands.) or to communism (A classless stateless society where yada yada yada.) is stupid. It's plain stupid. It's the stupid meme that government spending directly equals socialism, instead of properly recognizing that this is social democracy. (Though that's an awfully wooly term - true social democracy arose in Sweden and was strangled by the world going neoliberal. "Weak" social democracy is just the general capitalism+nice state healthcare thing.)

I would raise another point: Socialists and Communists generally have a sense of historical inevitability. They "know" that capitalism will eventually collapse because Marx predicted it. On the other hand I know the political forces against Keynes are so great, the international rich too strong, national governments too weak to fix things. I know that we are doomed. There is no historical inevitability to things getting better. There is no bright future. This is it.

I find it fitting that large parts of the symbolism of a coming technological future is from the 60s-70s. Saturn V. Concorde. Shuttle*, things that capture the imagination. You have a brief resurgence in the 90s with the ISS, EU shaping up somewhat (and in some ways I'd say Ace Combat is actually more reminiscent of this than the 70s) but that was a false dawn if ever there was one. Blair and Clinton selling out.

*Spaceflight was 1981, but the Landing Tests were in '76. IT COUNTS.

Drop an asteroid on my home but please get me off earth. I'm done.

>The single purpose of Keynesianism is to save capitalism

Nobody gives a single damn about intents. Results are what's important. Keynesianism created a precedent that allowed for a massive expansion of government intervention in the society and set us up for the issues we have today with a pseudo-aristocratic elite class attempting to co-opt society.

"Social democracy" is a weasel word used by presumptuous intellectuals who are not content that common people should be left to their own devices and want to government to reshape society in the way they think it should be yet don't want to be called out for being exactly what they are. It's a similar morphing process to how "progressives" starting to refer to themselves as "liberals" in the the late 18th/early 19th century.

For all people love to yammer on about "compassion", "equality" and sustainability" in the name of social democracy, in reality what happens is that overeducated elites seize control of society from the common people and start to direct it to ends they personally like. School curriculum, news outlets and popular media start to fail to reflect the values of the common people they are meant to service, and become mouthpieces for arrogant intellectuals who see the masses as uneducated cattle to be directed as they please.

Nearly every social problem you decry can be traced back to this idea that all our problems can be solved as long as we can just get someone with power to get in there and do what we want (of which Keynesian economics is a part). In economics, in politics, and in reality there are not and will never be "solutions" to problems, only trade offs in which we exchange a bit of something for a bit of something else. The trade offs we have now are much worse than those we had under a proper liberal society.

You lament the world did not stay still with Keynes, but it's the very nature of government to increase in size when given momentum, not grind to a halt.

No. Elements of it still creep up in the games as we get closer to the period. General Resource can be seen operating as early as 2015 or 2022 in Ace Combat 6 and X, iirc. And the fictional aircraft you gradually receive in X are both General Resource and Neucom prototypes of the ones we see in 3.

The "no" was in response to your assumption that they wiped 3 from the timeline. 3 is canon insofar as its events were all a simulation. In reality, the events of 3 never actually happened and are pure conjecture on Simon's part. As far as 3 is concerned, we could get a whole nother game that takes place during that period of the timeline. That or they canonize the story of 3's international version which dealt with the theme of man versus machine - which honestly looks to be where 7 is taking us with the Flanker drone.

You basically played as an Ace AI that was being developed by Neucom.. I think, or General Resource. It's heavily implied, though not outright stated, that the events of AC3 are a training simulation to fine tune you, the main character.

Though that's not to say the events portrayed in AC3 didn't happen at some point.
>>
>>161850878
The aesthetic of 3 should remain, there's not much to worry about there. They're long established designs who have survived well into the modern era as of X and as per their reintroduction in Infinity. COFFIN being a vital part of the FALKEN, ADLER and XFA series in X are pretty much indicators that the Corporate Era is soon at hand.

Hey guys, kind of a late-comer here.

So what's going on? Seems to be beyond AC5 in terms of timeline. But I know we have Osea (anti-Belkan scum) vs. Erusea which is now a Kingdom (how this happens in a modern era boggles my mind).

Are the main characters prisoners in a penal squad? Who do they fight for/against? Who is that qt Erusian waifu and that also qt chocolate waifu?

It'd be interesting if we played against Osea as Eruseans.
Also what is the likelyhood of some sort of AC4 easter eggs? Like Yellow Squadron pants and Wardog and shit?

Most likely it's just a constitutional monarchy that's still referred to as a kingdom officially. (think Spain or UK)

>Are the main characters prisoners in a penal squad? Who do they fight for/against? Who is that qt Erusian waifu and that also qt chocolate waifu?

Most likely at least from the Convict line

Judging from the obvious replay shots of the player aircraft with Osean roundels and squadron markings but with the bars crossing them out probably means they're (at least starting out) fighting under Osean command. Whether loyalties will switch by the end, who knows.

QT Erusian is probably a royal family member. QT Chocolate seems most likely the girl talking in the trailer so probably will end up being our Nagase of the squadron.

>Also what is the likelyhood of some sort of AC4 easter eggs? Like Yellow Squadron pants and Wardog and shit?

I would be very surprised if a reformed Yellow Squadron as a Ace squadron fight or Wardog to support in a mission never showed up

I guess my one worry with the game is that it's going to turn into AC5 with the 1-on-1 final boss battle of Zero.
After playing a lot of Japanese media lately I'm kind of sick of the whole "squad of young (<20) freedom fighters" thing. I just want older mature dudes doing cool fighter pilot things.

04's guitar was not "Spanish" guitar. It's classical acoustic if I remember correctly. Out of all the interlude songs, two of them are not original, but adaptations of original pieces.

The composer of La Caterdral and Una limosna for el amor de Dios was Agustin Barrios, who himself was Paraguayan. If you're interested in this kind of music, look it up on iTunes. John Williams has a terrific album full of Agustin's music called "The Great Paraguayan."

Using Barrios' music for cutscenes that occur mostly in San Salvacion is fitting actually, especially since the place has a lot of very west Europe/South America in it.

Ace Combat might be just an arcade-style flight game, but it's a pretty well developed one at that.

>Results are what's important
Okay. How's "The golden age of capitalism" for a result?
The common people have never controlled society and never will.

Their influence peaked at the "worst" point of Keynesianism* - when stagflation weakened the economy and the workers managed to bring down Edward Heath, and when Edward Heath and Wilson actually had some measure of control over the economy instead of leaving it entirely in the hands of international markets. The neoliberals used the language of fighting the Keynesian elites, and for what? To hand power to international elites. Congratulations, genius. In trying to give control to the common people you've made the world less accountable to them than ever.
>School curriculum, news outlets and popular media start to fail to reflect the values of the common people they are meant to service, and become mouthpieces for arrogant intellectuals
How the fuck do you believe they ever controlled these things? Newspapers have always been run by arrogant elites. The most common newspapers you'll find are run by weird little Marxist groups or local press (mostly corporate owned now.), the rest are more elite than the Queen.

I'm done with economic prosperity or hope for any country. Like I said, every ounce of hope has drained from my body. People will keep believing that they punch the elites in the face when acting in the self-interest of others. People will keep imagining hypothetical situations where they get to wear the boot and stamp on the faces of others. In many ways I dare say the common people deserve exactly what they've got. Thatcher won elections, Blair won elections, May won elections.

*I've actually seen it suggested this is the real reason it collapsed. The elites realized that full employment shows workers their strength (because there's no mass of unemployed to turn to if he threatens to leave.) and recognized that at all costs they had to stop that.

Stick it to the elites: Cut off your arms.

You talk of yourself as though you are separate from these global elites. You speak so grandly of prosperity and stability, if only we’ll hand over the reins to your vision and what you know is right for us. You paint yourself as a savior, if we’ll listen; but your true nature is betrayed by the arrogant, sneering way you refer to the common people. You’re not different from those you claim to deride. Your clash with them is over visions, not livelihood. Your objection is that globalism is an unsightly mark on this beautiful vision you have of the world, a smear on a painting you want to admire.

For you Keynesian economics is an ideal, a way you reach this beautiful vision of an egalitarian, spacefaring race. For me and my family, Keynesian economics affects our livelihood. What for you is a grand concept of a “golden age of capitalism” is for me a matter of whether my little brother can find a job next week. What for you is a just ideal of social democracy is for me a matter of whether my little sister can obtain a higher education.

The truly vile nature of your presumption cannot be overstated. You sit in your secluded, wealthy communities you walled yourself into and look down upon the rest of us, tut-tutting at our “backwards” principles and admonishing our values while plotting how next to corrupt our culture into something you feel would look nicer from your backyard pavilion.

We have not and will never need your disgusting paternalism, your amoral visions of beauty, or your perverse way of framing us as animals. YOU are what you deride, and no amount of grandiose bullshitting can disguise that plain fact. Today we tolerate your kind because our societies are on the whole prosperous and your arrogance, if grating, is not an influential as you would like. But if you persist in your efforts to treat us as cattle, we will obliterate you from our societies like the vile cancer you are. Remember that.

A world I actually want to live in, instead of one where I wait for the day I decide I can take no more and kill myself to avoid being complicit in it's crimes any further.

>What for you is a grand concept of a “golden age of capitalism” is for me a matter of whether my little brother can find a job next week.
If that's the example you choose to deride Keynesianism (Where full employment is a general policy goal.) I'm not sure it's worth engaging with you further.
>What for you is a just ideal of social democracy is for me a matter of whether my little sister can obtain a higher education.
Again, social-democracy generally aims to open up higher education.

+ We know for a fact that Pixy was running around Usea after AC4 so it's possible he could have stayed in the neighborhood long enough to be picked up as a test pilot for EASA/Neucom due to his experience.

And again, "but what is a nation" seems like a little nod to him.

I've always loved ace combat on the console and survey sims on the PC, stuff like Jane's USNF, ATF and USAF.

I wonder how many people in this thread grew up on both simultaneously. But hardcore sims never grew on me.
I want realistic looking planes with a spalsh of sci-fi elements here and there for spice.

But is it that weird that I like seeing twelve lock on diamonds on the screen at once and releasing an Itano circus just as much as I liked conserving ammo, choosing sparrows instead of AMRAAMs in the Jane's USAF campaign so that I could be sure of having them in an emergency further on?

Any confirmed planes list yet? I'm dying for them to include the Gripen NG.

>We've just saw a second AC7 trailer recently
>Said trailer was shown at PSX
>Sony's event
Not trying to be either optimistic or pessimistic that AC7 is going to be a multiplatform release at the end, but I think it's natural if they only display the PS4 and PSVR logo in the trailer. Why would Bamco put Steam or Xbox One logo in a promotional material that was made for Sony's event? This and the fact that there are no other words hinting towards exclusive such as "Only for..." or "Exclusive on..." makes me unsure at the state of the exclusivity of AC7.

If at the non-console-specific event such as the next year's E3 the next AC7 trailer still only shows PS4 and PSVR logo then we can be sure that it's gonna be PS4 exclusive.

Did the pilot make it out?

A plane sinks at roughly 10ft per second, so if you're going to get out, you need to do it in the first ten seconds or you're gonna have a bad time.
>>
>>161902475
From that same article:

>A fighter jet based on the Russian aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov skid off the deck during landing and became lost at sea after an arrestor gear line snapped and failed to stop the aircraft, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

>The pilot ejected from the plane and was rescued unharmed, the statement said.

“Naval aviation sorties are continuing in accordance with their tasks,” the ministry added.

The Su-33 is the second aircraft that has been lost from the Kuznetsov fleet during its ongoing mission in the Mediterranean. Earlier, a Mig-29 fighter jet was not able to land and ran out of fuel because the deck crew of the carrier failed to fix a broken arrestor gear.

The deployment of the Admiral Kuznetsov to Syria is its first combat mission since the ship was built. It is the only aircraft carrier currently in service in the Russian Navy.
>>
>>161902578
Did he eject before or after going in the water?
>>
>>161902746
It doesn't explicitly say, but from what I can tell, he bailed out as soon as the arrestor cable snapped and it was clear he didn't have enough speed to take off again. It looks like he went into the water and they plucked him out.

The biggest difference is the 33 has visible wing hinges for folding on a carrier, and the vertical tail is shaped differently on the two.

And here's what it looks like on the 37.

Also the 33 has deeper wings to facilitate carrier takeoff, as well as the leading edge slats and flaperons being slightly bigger to provide extra lift. All in all, it has 10-12% more wing area than it's counterparts.

A local speedometer in the wing unit actuates the pinion gear to steer the wing into the receiver slot with pullies and levers. Thus applying thrust and leveling the bevel

The Su-37 was an experimental version of the Su-35 (T-10M) with trust vectoring nozzles

Stinger tail a little more longer and possibly fatter too as it contained a rear facing radar, some difference in the fairings too but this depends if they had flare dispensers installed or not and some dielectric panels

Engine was the AL-31 the only difference is that nozzles were more longer due vectoring system

Tails were more taller with squared off dielectric panel and fatter as they had an extra fuel tank installed, possibly the intake at the base was different too

Airbrake was disabled possibly welded off, even if pics of the production like shows all of them with an opened airbrake

Wing chord, area and shit same as standard Flankers

Nose portion in front of airbrake was fatter but only on the underside,it was also a little more longer with different panels and a retractable refueling probe

On fuselage spine between cockpit and airbrake there it was some some kind of ball installed,I don't know it's function but I guess it was for missile targeting

IRST was installed on right side of windshield

Nose gear was the reinforced Su-33 type with twin wheels

And I guess it's all.

Basically you can tell an Su-35M or Su-37 from a Su-33 just by watching at the stinger, hinges installed on wings and horizontal stabs.vertical stabs are more shorted with once again a different dielectric ending and no trust vectoring engines

Su-35E vs Su-27SM is another story, but hey tail stinger is once again different, with flare dispensers and some random boxes installed here and there, nose is more shorter, air brake is completely gone, engines are also different and it comes with trust vectoring nozzles
>>

AC5 is objectively better than all other AC games and anyone who disagrees is just triggered by anti-war games.
>>
>>161917417
No, you're retarded. I fucking love anti-war games when they make sense. AC5's story is haphazard, highschooler fanfiction-tier schlock with basically no redeeming qualities. Any sort of rising action is nearly always squandered by whatever climax there is. The only time it seriously worked well was during the fight with the Scinfaxi in Front Line and the escape in Final Option.

Sinking the Hrimfaxi is meaningless because there's no buildup to it other than 'its like the scinfaxi but new ship!!1.' Shooting down the arkbird is one of the cringiest missions in the game with some of the worst dialogue from your wingmen other than the final mission, which again builds up a really cool fight just to throw it away with uninteresting, one dimensional villains with no redeeming qualities or relatable motives. The best missions in this game are the rising action ones and that's sad.

Compare that with Ace Combat Zero which does the anti-war war game thing much better than 5. My only real gripe with that game is that Excalibur is introduced literally the mission before you destroy it, but considering the length of the game it's understandable. The climaxes (the main ones being Sword of Annihilation, The Stage of Apocalypse, and Valley of Kings/Zero) are done so much better and to much larger effect and emotional payoff than in 5.

Rant over.

Well the hanger screen is all fucked up (pic related) ,all planes are jet black as if the skins are not loading, and on mission three the HUD completely disappears so I have no clue where targets are or if I'm even locked on to anything. I ended up dropping it on mission 3 since I can't actually do anything without the HUD.

How is cockpit view relevant at all? Do you not know what a massive resource hog VR is?

You can't have performance issues with VR. There are many cases of frame drops causing motion sickness and just looking horrible.
>>
>>161921670

Not to mention a 90fps stable framerate requirement and the resource hog of the device itself.

>>161920446

How do you even play emulated Ace Combat without a pressure sensitive controller?
>>
>>161920178
Fortunately they already confirmed that the VR mode and the campaign are separate.
I also had that worry, as forcing 90fps for VR would cripple the map detail, lenght and number of units onscreen.

"We also asked Kono-san if it’s challenging to push the visual quality on the PS4 and PS4 Pro, while at the same time supporting VR, which has to achieve a higher frame rate and render for both eyes.

He explained that the core direction between normal gameplay and the VR experience is the same, with an area of 100 x 100 Km on the maps, allowing players to immerse themselves in the game.

That said, the restrictions are different: with VR the game has to be locked at 60 FPS, so the other elements have to be worked around that fixed variable. On the other hand, on a flat screen at 1080p, the focus is more on the details. That’s why the main campaign and the PlayStation VR experience are being developed almost separately."

yeah too bad that there are very few good scaled down renditions

Zvezda nailed both Su-33 and Su-27SM in 1/72

Trumpeter tried but it failed on fuselage sides, wingspan too large, angled mlg wells and effed up missile pylons plus other bits here and there for the MKK

Hasegawa Su-35E is kinda good,it requires some upgrades but lerx is a little narrow and have to rescribe the dielectric panel on vertical stab.Su-33 lost count of how much after market is nedeed

Italeri Su-34 needs tons of touchups and upgrades, waiting for reviews of HB 1/48 Su-34 so far the nose is fucked up,but I'm not a 1/48 guy

It also applies for Mig-21 and some other iconic aircrafts,Phantom included as Hasegawa jack of all traders is a kinda a master of nothing,Monogram nailed it ages ago but they only released a J and a D

Wolfpack Design made a 1/48 conversion for the Academy kit,I don't know how good is it,there is also a chance that someone will either make a 1/48 or possibly a 1/72 kit because some employee on ARC forums was searching for Su-35/37 reference material and there is a full 1/72 CAD model of it around the web, plus one on some R/C forums who also made a CAD rendering and both are spot on.

I'm still waiting, making the fuselage fatter is a matter of adding some plasticard and putty, radome is another story as I don't have any sections or blueprints, everything else can be made out of scratch

Technically, Excalibur is introduced in Glatisant.
><<Huh, did something just flash?>>

The game is paced in little crescendos of 3:
>18 missions
>first 6 are Ustio's introduction and comeback
>first 3 are Ustio coming from the brink of defeat:
>Glacial Skies introduces galm team and the UAF
>Annex introduces Eagle Eye and ace style paths
>B7R climaxes by introducing ace squadron fights and the round table
>second 3 are Ustio's counterattack
>Juggernaut introduces multi-mission campaigns
>Flicker of Hope introduces secondary objectives saving/protecting allied units
>Diapason climaxes with the liberation of Ustio

>second 6 are about the invasion of Belka
>first 3 are the Excalibur arc
>Glatisant introduces groundpounding missions, teasing Excalibur at the end
>Merlon shows Belka's fear in a surprise ambush for Galm using Excalibur
>Excalibur climaxes with the namesake and introduces PJ
>second 3 is Pixy's betrayal
>The Round Table shows reasons to doubt invading Belka and Pixy talking with Wizard
>The Inferno shows the atrocities of Belka, OSEA, and Galm, fueling Pixy's jaded views
>The Stage of Apocalypse climaxes with 7 V1s and Pixy betraying
>the final 6 is the war with AWWNB
>the first three are PJ missions against Belkan remnants
>Lying in Deceit shows Belka still has plans
>The Final Overture shows the war is not over despite the negotiations
>Talon of Ruin climaxes with AWWNB and Hresvelgr
>the final 3 is the V2 arc
>The Demon of the Round Table shows the leaders of AWWNB
>Avalon is the trench run of the canyon and dam
>Zero climaxes with PJ's death, the Pixy fight, and stopping V2
>>
>>161932841
Glatisant barely counts, it's foreshadowing sure but nothing really happens with it until Merlon.

In any case, yes, the game has lots of little crescendos leading to the final boss battle which is easily the most memorable of the series. I guess on the 14th or so when disc 2 of AC3 releases I'll be able to say whether or not the Dision fight is any good.

Okay, so I tried zooming in, and It really only cuts off the points and the timer. I think I can live with this.

Also, I finally realize I have played this before. I must have rented it. There was a couple things, like flying below the canyon to avoid stonehenge, and the harbour assault levels, but then I still wasn't sure. The thing that triggered it was trying to shoot down the retreating Yellow and losing the mission because of how much time I wasted doing it.
>>
>>161932841
Yeah but 04 still does more with less. Stonehenge is vastly more satisfying to defeat because of its omnipresence menacing the airspace, and its key role in the plot. All of the Zero things kinda come out of nowhere with virtually "zero" buildup, and thus make less of an impact on the player.

But what about the boss everyone remembers most? Pixy? Well, he's slowly built up over the course of the whole game, even in his absence. It makes sense that he's the capstone boss and the most popular.

It's clever how Pixy surpasses Yellow 13 in that sense, by basically making Yellow 13 your wingman instead of just the rival squadron leader, with one extra mission of buildup. Speaking of Stonehenge, I now think Atmos Ring is better than it gameplay-wise. Stonehenge takes place in a rather bland-looking desert, is slow at aiming (although this does suit 04's gameplay style), and you only need to really worry about stonehenge the moment it shoots. Atmos Ring has a stonehenge-esque ring area, but with walls, a tower in the middle with gaps to fly through, and a more interesting weapon gameplay-wise. Atmos Rings takes place in a colorfully lit city at night and uses lasers that reach a certain distance and stay there for a while, continually damaging you if you touch them. All lasers are aiming exclusively for you, leading their shots from unique angles. At the same time, you have to take care of a bombardment of fighters coming at you. Altogether, it's like dogfighting through a spiderweb, and it is fucking amazing!

I suppose giving the main character backstory is different than having it be a plot point or anything that comes up in cutscenes. I just don't see it making any sense otherwise.

Nameless protags already suffer from video games not truly having choice (or at least, having a strictly limited number of them). I don't think that's something that makes sense. Incidentally, does F.E.A.R. 2's protagonist have any character of his own or is he totally nameless/faceless?

>>
>>161939948
In every Ace Combat game the protagonist is effectively nameless past the codename designation given to them by AWACS. There's no backstory given, because you're expected to fill in the blanks on your own and let yourself be immersed in the game. There is a bit of a difference between a silent and a nameless protagonist, at least in my eyes.

3. Transforming jets
it's already enough to be Macross

>Cohen then created a simulated conflict between the four organizations, and ran the program multiple times to see what the possible outcomes would be.

>Due to various decisions within the simulation, Nemo discovered five possible outcomes of the conflict. Cohen, who was watching the program every time it ran and sometimes gave direct involvement to speed things along, was pleased with the results; no matter the outcome, Nemo always killed Dision.

>Considering the experiment a success, Cohen then removed Nemo from the program, purged it from existence, and released him into the real world. Its fate afterward is unknown, but it is assumed that Cohen would then put the conflict into motion to allow his plan to be carried out.

Thats SOME fucking meta shit, holy fuck, so until that shit rolls out again every single ending is possible, whilst also not totally invalidating every single possible outcome of 3. What brilliance, This is why they shouldve always stayed with Strangereal and never bothered with real world, it just limits them

Of course they're not new you fucking idiot, but that doesn't change the fact that they're cancer, in every sense of the word. And the fact that you have to spam them like a retard to feel relevant means you are too.

You can't contribute with AC discussion, you can't lurk in silence. Hell, I'd even be impressed if you found a way to shitpost creatively, but you didn't. You spammed weebshit, which is the most vapid and unoriginal shitpost imgainable. And you know what the saddest part is? There are boards, ENTIRE BOARDS literally created for the sole purpose of posting this moeblob autism. Nope, not you, you're special, you're unique. Hey, even if you're a literal tumor and everyone around you hates you, at least you're being noticed, right?! Your life is so devoid of meaning, that you shit up this thread, just so people will recognize you as the shitposter, because no one else in your life will recognize you for jackshit otherwise.

And that's just fucking sad.

Quite. 4's still better than zero, despite all of that, because it lacks the (meme word incoming) ludonarrative dissonance that Zero has, where it's clear the plot exists just to drop superweapons on you. The only exception? Pixy, who not coincidentally is the best part of Zero.

4 spends the entire time telling a story in which you act a part, where you engage superweapons and do missions in accordance with the story's flow.
>>
>>161941357
They have a neat gimmick: one shotting anything they hit.

How to use them in dogfights: shoot them, then switch to missiles so your gun pipper shows up. Rockets in 04 follow roughly the same path as bullets with similar speed, so instakilling enemies is super easy.
>>
>>161976504
So, it'll be an ensemble cast, then, in terms of narrative.

>50% complete
I'm guessing the release date could be sometime Q3 - Q4 2017.
>>
>>161976983

>>
>>161965978

>>
>>161977081
I'm actually glad that there won't be a VR campaign. PS4 isn't powerful enough and there would be compromises with graphics and the number of units and effects onscreen.

It actually seems implied in that interview with the "a bit of a miscalculation" part.
>>
>>161977081
>>161977356
I fear that the VR mode will only be limited to specific aircrafts which means that in campaign mode we'll still get the limited cockpit view that we can't look down and see our knees, side panels, control stick, and throttle.
>>
>>161977519
I hope that you are wrong but it seems reasonable. We have no idea how much it cost to fully render a plane cockpit and Ace Combat doesn't look like a franchise with a big budget. Taking those models and textures could also boost the framerate by a bit.
>>
Pardon me for bringing about target platforms,
but does Tekken series has larger fanbase than Ace Combat series' fanbase or roughly the same size?
If it's the former, then does the size of fanbase, other than business decision, play a major role in determining whether or not a game is gonna be multiplatform?
If I remember it correct, Tekken 7 was initially only announced for Playstation 4 only for the Xbox One and PC version to be announced later.
