Interesting to see that WG have actually dealt a blow to the people using cheats. Though I think their focus is on the RU server and people using aimbots. While cheaters are bad for the game, it actually costs money to use the latest aimbots/cheat-packs, so WG must be extra pissed that people are making money off of it.

Cheaters are saying a few things:

>The official Top Tankers mod may have been a honeypot (Though WG-RU directly denied this)
>Mod/cheat author collaboration with WG may be possible (Some are saying P-Mod, which is a mod-pack)

The cheat-authors and their users are gathering as much info on the bans right now, it'll be interesting to see what they learn about WG's detection system.

It's the latest Witch hunt hysteria.

Some of it is legitimate though. It's a clear advantage to know how many shells an autoloader has in his magazine despite only just spotting it for the first time. Those and the tree-down/object destruction mods actually provide information that nobody would reliably be able to obtain otherwise. Those are nice advantages to have in a competitive environment. Even if you can guess those things based on the enemy play, knowing it for certain is an edge that the other team won't have if they're playing legit.

I've not seen any of these mentioned in bans unless part of a pack with an aimbot/aim-assist mod so I doubt WG is targeting them at the moment.
