Remember guys, only thing set in stone are your class and race (you can race change with crowns), so feel free to try out things as you level.

Every class has a stamina and Magicka build, and every class can dps, tank, heal.

They are pretty much all viable for 95% or more of the game too. You only need to min max for a tiny amount of content.

would you fuck yourself over? are you almost required to use magick? is using magick bad? I still dont understand how this works, half this stuff in nightblade seems like a physical attack, but it costs magicka to use. except those skills arent as important as weapon skills? which cost stamina?

so either you get to use weapons or you get to use class abilities? while a mage gets to use both? it seems like no matter what you only have like 8 spells to use total, except that the actual pool of spells is only 15 so you arent missing much, whereas in guild wars you have like 100 abilities, so every decision on which ability to use was important

Just bought the game. Teach me the secrets of Dunmer DK tanking/DPS?

So i know all classes can solo, but what class is the ultimate solo class. The perfect combination. THE KING OF SOLOING

I give up. finally loaded into the absolute minimum character creation screen available. chouldnt see hair, tattoos, muscle definition at all, faces were a blur, text was blurry, chouldnt tell what was going on. and I was L A G G I N G. i was fucking lagging on something a PSX could run at a stable 30fps.

just to make sure my hardware wasnt dying, booted up WoW, ultra everything max render distance. 100fps stable

tried every solution I could find short of buying new shit for my computer

getting a refund off of steam, you should not have to wait 15m just to play with play-do at 10fps, i cant even fathom how shit the code has to be on this trainwreck that you need a 5k computer just to make a fucking character

no, they take extra damage only when transformed

only bonus you get if you aren't transformed is a bit of passive stamina recovery boost 15% I think as long as you have the ult slotted, and only on the bar that it's slotted on. so if you don't plan on using werewolf form, you're giving up an ult slot for 15% more stam recovery. which is why the only place where werewolf is even remotely useful is in PvP

Motifs vary on a per-motif basis. Dwemer motifs are found in dwemer ruins, for instance. The basic racial motifs can be found just about anywhere. Just go to eso-fashion and check the motif tab, it'll tell you wear to find any of them.

Also that one isn't a motif, it's a costume, which is something you can wear over armor to hide horrible newbie/lowbie gear. That particular one is the Dark Seducer costume which you get at Champion level 60, iirc.

It's doable for all non DLC dungeons, City of Ash 2 will be a lot harder but once you are experienced with it - it won't be much harder than it already is.

Vamp bats is a good ult for Tank DPS and sustain, the stage 4 passive helps with damage mitigation

My only guess it's that it's an obsession with incrementalism, first and foremost as a way to cater to/get the money of stat autists, and secondarily as a way to pace/show progression.

It's like playing a game where stats go from 1 to 10, compared to 1 to 100.

In a game of 1 to 10, a 1 versus a 2 is a huge disadvantage, whereas in a game of 1 to 100 a 1 versus a 2 is basically inconsequential.

2) More health tends to scale better with more healing received and better resistance you get.

It might depends on your build I guess.

Personally I like Atronach, because Tanks tend to go stamina, so the natural magic regen is very low. Atronach ends up being a significant boost to your magic regen if your build uses any skills with magicka.

Pick the class that is most FUN or appealing to you, and pick a race that's a generalist (Dunmer is probably a safe bet).
You can respec everything but class and race, so you can explore and go nuts.

Pretty much every class can be viable for every role if you give effort for like 99% of the content, though some are easier or more min-max than others. Don't go into this game trying to get the most min-max build right away, because you never know how buffs and nerfs will swing. You might end up with a class you hate playing that gets nerfed instead of playing class you actually enjoy.

Instead, pick a good class/race, then learn how to make the builds work. Heavy armor for tank, medium armor for melee dps... etc.

More specifically, about 20k health with good resistance/skills/knowledge is more than enough for any pvp or pve content. Then you have buffs, enchants, food etc to push things further.

On the other hand, more stamina allows you to block more, do more damage, and manage enemies better. Magicka is similar.

A long time ago, you used to not scale off Magicka or Stamina, so everyone put points in health. They changed that (obviously) then nerfed how much health you gain from adding health, so very few people invest heavily into health anymore.

You can obviously still do whatever you want to a degree for most of the content, because ESO is designed that way, but it is not even necessary for leveling anymore.

Face tanking things without blocking without risks of dying in a delve is not the best way to measure how great of a tank you're building, anon. There are a lot of things that will kill you unless you block even if you went all points into health.

Of course, you can do whatever you want while leveling, but you are leveling slower solo and when you start doing end game stuff, you'll want to start balancing out some stats.

Bro there are four classes in the game, so being the "worst" at tanking or second "worst" at healing mean very little. Also, sorcerer can tank and heal all contents of the game, though the hardest 1-3% percent requires more work than other classes, but that barely matters.

nope, they do perfectly well in group content, i have a mag sorc that can switch between dps-ing and tanking with just a change of gear, skills (it's useful to have an add on to do these switches with one click) and mundus stone. tanks use heavy armour to reach the resistance cap so defs wear heavy armour. you used to be able to wear light armour and just spam shields but i don't think that's viable anymore.

I feel like vampires bane is easier to use since it's just basically a fire and forget, but spells that effect multiple enemies are never bad either.

As far as Magicka sorcerer tank goes, maybe the other anon can shed some light, but I've seen builds that go pure Magicka then manages just enough stamina to block and taunt. That explains why most Magicka sorcerer tanks default to destruction for dps instead of a melee weapon.

Go either all stamina or Magicka. So if you want 2h, go all stamina. Some of your Magicka skills can morph into stamina versions. Look up the skill morphs.

Pick those ones along with any Magicka skills that are utility or buffs. Then you are good to go.

Yeah you can do that and should be fine for most of the content. Melee weapons still give spell power and can have enchants. So you can be in light robe, use melee weapons, and be a caster. Destruction and restoration staves do have useful skills though.

I'm assuming you're asking about restoration skills.

Grand healing can basically heal you through everything leveling wise. You should slot the other skills in too until you get all the morphs, because they all have their uses.

Regeneration is really good and efficient to throw on your party at all times. Then you can throw down a grand healing below everybody. That should be all you need for leveling dungeons.

Unfortunately it is, buddy. Without a better way to get major mending than a full heavy attack, and no other class heal aside from the hideously expensive twilight summon, sorcs are straight up the worst healers. But then again, every non-templar healer is just begging to be kicked anyway.

And for tanking the best way to get minor resolve/ward is a dual bar toggle, and while ultimates cost less for sorcs you have no means of extra ulti generation for warhorn. Doesn't matter anyway because no-one wants a tank without chains and swarm mothers set isn't worth not having another set on a DK for more difficult dungeons.

If I could slap the dev team I would, but unfortunately this is what they've given us. I still play my DK healer in normals, but if I'm getting into vet/hm/trials I'm gonna throw on my tank gear or jump on the templar. There's just no other way atm.

if you're starting fresh you're probs better off leveling as a dps since you won't have access to pretty important skills as a sorc tank at first. if you're already cp 160 and want to grind cp as a tank doing dungeons then yeah, go for it. the gear im running is dragonguard (can be bought for cheap in guild stores), tava's (crafted) and swarm mother helm + shoulders, so getting the gear isn't a hassle.

i only use inner fire for mobs that are far away from me like archers so that when i block, they get pulled in immediately by swarm mother. you should use the 1 hand and shield taunt on bosses and dangerous mobs as it debuffs them while inner fire doesn't.

well for me my character was originally a dps character, but i wanted to try something new and decided to try out tanking. my character leveled as a dps so light armour was maxed before i even started to tank. when i started tanking, my heavy armour was probs around level 20 or so, so you don't have to have maxed heavy to tank efficiently.

Sorcs do not make good healers. I don't care if it doesn't fit your headcanon or whatever, but until every class has access to a reliable BoL replacement, repentance alternative and a purify that doesn't cost 3x the magicka of any other spell in the game, then nothing outside of a templar can make a good healer.

And it's clear the devs have no intention of changing that given how fucked NB healers got, which was actually my first character to 50. Only reason I leveled a templar is because I want to heal endgame.

pretty sure you still need to group for dungeons and world bosses. aside from that, I do not think it's a bad think you don't have a lot of quests where you're prevented from completing them because you need a group. you weren't here for Craglorn where that was the case, were you? if you had been, you'd see how shit that was.

it's a necessary evil for an MMO. there has to be rules that separate classes and roles. if they'd make heavy armour just as effective for DPS as light and medium armour, just with more resistance, everybody would just use heavy armour. if they'd make heavy just as effective for DPS as light and medium armor, but just make it look like it's heavy while keeping the same resistances of light and medium, what's the point of it?

that's why we have costumes. they look like full set of plated mail, like robes, like a wedding dress, like hobo gear, like whatever. they have no stats and are just cosmetic. if you want a khajiit in heavy, just get a costume like that. admittedly not a lot of good options for heavy costumes on crown store at the moment. they really need to do away with rotating limited time offer bullshit

I left the game shortly after Dark Brotherhood came out. I enjoyed it but after complething the quests on most of the world and doing some dungeons, I didn't quite get hooked to the game...

What's keeping you playing guise? I didn't like the world pvp in Cyrodiil too much, and the sewers were a fucking labyrinth...

I weren't there for that, but essentially they were caps on your stats. If they got too high, you would get diminishing returns, meaning at one point you'd have to stop trying to raise a stat and focus on another, or you'd be gimping yourself. Like how right now you have to focus all your attributes in either stam or mag to get the most out of your build, soft caps would mean that this would no longer be a good idea. Basically making hybrid builds viable again.

I figured, otherwise Bleed stacking could probably get pretty outrageous.
