Forest in this game is like a blue snapcaster deck with cryptic command in magic the gathering. Ass loads of synergy super powerful combos and cards and answers for everything.

Players of this archetype will also insist it is the most skill intensive even though it consists of holding up mana and winning the game while all the so called linear decks have to carefully bait out the counter and conserve resources to even have a chance.

And compared to those decks in MtG forest is simpler still.

But in its heydey those cryptic command filled splinter twin decks were absolute cancer because of how they could attack and control from every angle, they could win with board control and win with a dumb combo. Elana is like laning against huskar in dota, it's an awful experience. Huskar was never broken though, while elana is a bit too strong too. Putting elana at 4-5 PP is very reasonable since you already have massive heal and board clear to stay alive with anyway. Put decree at 7-8 PP and it all starts to look more reasonable.

Decree is fine and DotA2 sucks ass. The only nerf I can think of to Elana, if any at all (because I don't really see a reason for nerfing it) is to make it only raise attack instead of both attack and defense. Yes Elana can be annoying due to how sacky and snowbally it can be, but it also isn't terribly consistent and can be beaten pretty cleanly. If anything nerfing Elana directly is bad, just make amulet removal more reliable.
