And phonetically it's not that simple. There's 8 different ways of spelling 'a' for example, depending on the accent.
Japanese is actually not that difficult gramatically. The lack of certain functions we're used to (like plural forms) is strange, but only makes it easier. The REAL difficulty is, of course, learning all the goddamn fucking kanji.

It seems 8 years of visiting /f/ were not completely wasted. Basically the whole UI in this game is not text, but graphics, but it's easy to replace it inside swf files without even recompiing. So maybe we indeed can make some basic menu translation.

Also usually it's easy to decompile stuff, but it's hard to get it back working properly. After recompiling flash it may have strange visual bugs or may not work at all. If that happens you can put images back into original swf using Flashbulb. It's a small handy tool created by some anon from /f/.

If I had the time, I could probably do a good amount of it, but I obviously want to finish the game first. And simply doing that might take a while now that Thanksgiving weekend is gone.

Also translating is so much more work than simply reading the Japanese; it used to take me ages to read untranslated VNs because my brain kept trying to translate everything into English instead of just settling for understanding the meaning. Trying to find the right wording in English is really the hardest part of the job.

Having the text already extracted and available should make it a lot easier for people to motivate themselves to contribute though. Hell, I can even use Rikaichan on the entries for way easier lookups than actually playing through the game. It's not really that difficult to read except for the fact that he keeps using relatively obscure kanji (usually in place of words usually written in kana) so I keep having to manually look shit up that it turns out I knew all along if he had written it normally.

If I remember correctly it gives one false positive on virus total, but it's safe (or at least it never hit me).

2) find image you want to replace
3) press green right arrow (edit tag)
4) import new image
4) press green left arrow (overwrite tag)
5) Save as...

Anyone know how to deal with endlessly repeating text from games? I can hook perfectly and capture the text with ITHVNR but the hooked text repeats infinitely so ITH can never snapshot the text and let it be translated. I have to manually pause ITH for every line.

Don't want to burst your bubble, but there aren't that many h-scenes. The combat is also pretty grindy.

Protip, bring a fairy with the torch spell and two tanky characters who go up first constantly. Metal Doggo and Dragon Loli work well. You clear out the map and center before reinforcements become significant if you're efficient.

Also, enemies prioritize whoever is in their range and will take the most damage. So basically whoever has the lowest defense to the stat they attack with.

They will never prioritize your tanky characters because of this.

If you don't know who's in their range, just click on them or the red button in the bottom right on the pause menu. It shows their move and attack range.

Also another protip, the show attack range button works even from the darkness so you can move tanks to bait enemies exactly using it while leaving your DPS characters right nearby.

For ITH specificly go to the options and check "supress repetitions" and see if that helps.

If you are using a hook you can add "/ks(number of repetitions)" to supress repeating characters like: "YYYeesss", for that case it would look like "/ks2".

You can use "/kf" in the same way for repeated lines like this one: "SpoonfeedSpoonfeedSpoonfeed", for that case it would look like "/kf2".

Sure. I can try but since I’m an idiot it’s hard to say what I liked or didn’t about any particular game, it usually just clicks or doesn’t for me.
Anyway, first of all, it’s just a well done game. You never really feel that you’re playing an RPG MAKER game, but, rather, a GAME that was done with rpg maker(Wolf RPG Editor to be exact). Basically, because it’s well done you see it as a game first and then as “yet another of those RPG Maker products”. It just feels natural.
What I personally really liked is games’ story and writing. It’s engaging, exciting and dynamic from the very beginning, there’s so much stuff going on that it sometimes becomes absurd. Good kind of absurd. Like how in Gurren Lagann we think it’s about some dude digging holes or whatever and it grows into an epic galaxy throwing duel. Kind of. Oh, most of the story and H-Scenes are voiced too, so that’s a plus. Or not, for someone. You can turn voices off I believe.
The combat is pretty fun too. Nothing revolutionary, but it’s a breath of fresh air. Fast, cool-looking, pretty epic sometimes too. It also utilizes SMT’s “hit an enemy’s weak point and get an extra turn” system.
I can’t speak for H content since I didn’t dwell much on it, but I think it’s ok? A lot of prostitution if you’re into that.

So I just caught the Harpy on the level right after you see the knife-hand dude and amazon the first time. I caught the Harpy and the slime girl in the next level, and the dragon loli joined my party. But I am not sure what to do next. No new level has opened up after beating that mission. If you're serious then I'll tell you the sustainable way. For leaning it not just for reading but in general.

Torrent all of Pimsleur, and do one a day. And start wanikani(hated on 4chan but the slow pacing it good at the start especially if you don't know kanji already)

After you finish Pimsleur install plugins for wanikani to make it go faster and be better. Then download and set up the core2k or core10k anki deck and start doing those and make sure to do all reviews every day. Also start reading through Tae Kim Grammar. After going through Tae Kim Gramma once(as you simultaneous lot keep doing wanikani daily and your anki reps daily) then get the Tae Kim anki deck to solidify the grammar in it (you need to do this as it's the fastest way to make he grammar concrete)

Start listening more actively to Japanese music and pick out words in your anime and vidya etc.

If you do this, you will be nearly N3 in about a year without having to bust your nuts. Pick up some more n3 grammar books and n2 grammar books and make anki decks out of them all while continuing wanikani and your core 2k deck


Also move to Japan, it's nice here and you get to practice it everyday.

If you mean Fujuhime, then yeah, according to his blog he has alot more planned but realised it was more work then he expected. Thus to actually release something in a reasonable time frame he left it out (as well as meet the approx promised release date). If we're lucky he may add more content in future patch, else we'll be waiting for that sequel he suggested.
