I just picked up this game as part of the HIB monthly, and have been playing vanilla for a few hours, but now wanted to look into some QoL mods, but the existing mods pastepin says its been removed. Any chance someone has that somewhere?

I play a Strider and not only do they get cool armor, they do get cool moves as well.
Or at least I think so. Dash into the enemy, do some quick stabs and roll away again.

I wanted to do some texture replacement mods, and yes, some nude mods but apparently the way the game is designed, it's not just a matter of dragging and dropping in replacement files. Does the modtool on Nexus mods allow for mod combinations? Is that what the unpacking/repacking is all about? Is there a modding guide for nubs?

On another note, how the fuck do you beat the dragon in the final battle fast? I dropped his health to the second health bar before I somehow went very high midair after I jumped off of the heart and died from falling. It felt like I was wailing on him for thirty minutes and I didn't feel like doing it again. Is it supposed to be this tedious?

just sent back Albedo and Khelgar

Albedo was a really great pawn. actively went into battles and used her skills wonderfully. she was real sturdy too, rarely died on me.

khelgar on the other hand was a bit more troublesome. he died pretty often and didn't use his skills quite as much. my biggest recommendation is to upgrade his armor. it's cool that you want something different and all, but pls give him some more defence, as he is he is too squishy. his resistances are also lacking; blindness isn't much of a threat.

biggest debuffs to watchout in bbi are possession, petrification, and sleep

I just bought DD for PC, and haven't played in a long while. I wanted to build a Mystic Knight, but I don't really remember which vocations at which levels make for the best MK. I don't really want to min/max, I just want to look at what the most optimal vocations per level are, and maybe use it as a really broad guideline for switching vocations if I find the one I'm playing at the time getting a little repetitive.

If I remember, I think fighter was good for levels 1-10, then I think there was something about either the mage or sorcerer next after that, and like 40 levels of assassin, and then more sorcerer, but I'm pretty sure I'm wrong on at least one or two of those.

I'm gonna try out a sorc pawn instead of a mage, but I have no fucking idea what kind of spells/inclinations I should look for on a sorcerer. What kind of shit do you guys like on your sorc pawns?

Personally I use curative items for myself since they're much faster and I am usually in the front line as a melee class. I still bring a mage though but their main purpose is just to heal my two other pawns instead.

People say that utilitarian challenger is the best for syncing spells and staying away. The main problem with sorc pawns is that they tend to interrupt casting when an enemy leaves their range and pawns don't seem to be aware that they can simply walk closer with most spells. On the other hand scather will probably stand too close. If you're a sorc then either wait until your pawn casts something to sync with it or start casting when you're close to the pawn

It might be impossible without the faster escape augument. I was never able to do it (hard mode, m+kb). Only other way is having pawns stagger them out of the "grab" before it ends.

Not the same anon, but what's wrong with mage pawns? Their healing seems pretty useful, and I like the buffs, just have to be careful hiring them, since it seems like a lot of people just slap all available slots full of buffs, instead of one buff, a healing spell, and other useful stuff.

I hope that will stop being a thing in the later game.

Even worse - healing doesn't scale at all.
Mages are okay early and as you go on their usefulnes goes down in favor of sorcs.
Late game you have so much health that waiting for it to heal via spells just takes too long and you mostly have good gear with status resist so hauling a debuff removing magic isn't as important.
On the other hand sorcs can have weapon enchants as well, but offer spell syncs and heavier hitting spells.

The only real difficulties are in switching between physical and magical classes. A Fighter's stat line should be pretty acceptable for either Strider or Ranger - perhaps losing a bit of damage in exchange for tankiness.

I find yellows are generally the best because their skills are simpler so they're more likely to use their best ones. When you have a pawn consistently spamming tenfold flurry/brain splitter then you will know power. Blues can be good as well but actually getting them to cast their incredible one shot kill uberspells is pure chance - I think I've seen my Sorc cast Grand Gicel exactly once, whereupon it one-hit a gorecyclops. Reds are solid and dependable but apart from really well trained Warriors they don't tend to kill a lot of enemies (in my experience), and while a meat shield is handy if you had another yellow there would rapidly be fewer enemies to need shielding from.

First time playing, loving the game so far.
One question though: should I abstain from hiring overleveled pawns?
I'm lvl 10 and in the rift for the first time and the game offers me lvl 50 pawns from people on my friends list for no cost and apparently no penalty.

Will this ruin my fun? I don't want to ruin the game by making it too easy. Kinda weird that the only pawns it offers me are those 40 levels above me. Should I just use the search function and find pawns my own level?

Similar combat, some aspects are better imo, but vocations are more defined into the trinity of MMO. With that said, with recent patch, you can still play in a party without tank/support.

Can have 3 main pawns now. No more 'Wolves hunt in pack' tips. They have crap tons of lines for each personality though.

End game is grindy if you plan to play multiple vocations (some are mandatory for good augments)

Warriors are OP this time

Recycle maps just like DDDA, but unique areas are actually unique.

Damage cap means you can't one shot things with your Bolide, Arc (actually just a similar skill)

Raids are 8-man party, most are actually challenging if you're not too overleveled.


If you really really like the combat in DDDA, you may like it. If you want exploration in DDO, it's not as great as DDDA.

I'm done with sorcerer pawns, they'll cast one, maybe two spells at most during a boss fight and spend the rest of the time running around, starting a spell then canceling it and spamming magick bolt.

Reloading doesn't work since each unpurified piece already is predetermined. You're only able to get weapons usable by you or your pawn's vocation 'color', IE if you and your pawn both are sorcerers you'll either receive staves or archstaves since those are the weapons that can be used by blue vocations. Reloading and changing your vocation might alter the result, but that's about it.

Does anyone know of any mods that might exist to force hardmode to not give you extra gold and faster leveling?

I just want the game to be harder, I don't want anything to make the experience easier. Killing like 5 goblins and having two of them drop 10k gold, and getting to Gran Soren with like 150k gold without even trying is really not that great.

Killed the Dragon, did things to Mercedes like holding hands all day, went back to the Duke, got down to the Everfall, killed Gazer and Dark Chimera + first battle with Ur-Dragon.
How do I continue? Is there some Quest to get? Or is falling down the Everfall and hopefully landing at the right spot that I haven't already visited everything left? (besides BBI)

Sup doggers,
Just started a new save and noticed my pawn hasn't been summoned in a while, so I checked their skills to find that it showed none of the skills/core skills set in the Status page even though they are for sure set an innkeeper. Are other people seeing my pawn with no skills and no summoning it or is it just on my end? I swap saves frequently for different vocations, but it's only this one save that I've been having this bug, and I can see skills on other pawns in the Rift.

If it helps in any way I'm using the MA alternate stat growth mod, but I haven't had this bug when I was using the MK one.

So me and my pawn are the same level and vocation, yet she has higher stamina than me. Do pawns just naturally have higher stats than the arisen or something?

So I bought this game yesterday, and I'm feeling very clostrophobic. The combat is cool and I made a nice pawn companion, but the world seems really closed in and filled with empty space. This coupled with a struggle to manage my inventory due to OCD gaming tendencies plus no knowledge of how or what to craft makes me slightly annoyed. I know I should just keep pushing through until it opens up but idk. I think I've also managed to find myself in areas I wasn't supposed to be in. You can change your class at gran soren or bitterblack isle, you can't remake your character without restarting over but you can use family share for multiple saves
If it's stats you're worried about then don't, min/maxing in this game is not needed at all so just have fun playing every class you feel like
(you could have fun shitting on everything with a pure str minmaxed character, but leave that for future playthroughs)

I keep getting this "Fatal Error" message saying it can't open a file from DragonsDogma\model\pl\ etc... which the filepath doesn't even exist.

It's pretty clear that by the time the game comes he really gives zero fucks anymore. He didn't actually expect you to go anywhere. It's why after Honor and Treachery he was going to send you to bumfuck nowhere to get rid of you (not kill you, surprisingly, just get you out of the picture).

I've been playing the game for a bit and just got past the part where you beat the dragon, and I'm doing the quest where you gotta get 20 Wakestones.
I'm doing the dungeons and stuff and I come across the second magic tentacle eye monster. It's an annoying fight but what made me rage was my main pawn.
My main pawn has been my top dog since the beginning of the game and has always done what she's supposed to and exceeded my expectations.
Lately, she's lost her brain and likes to go up to enemies and cast her spells just right up in melee range but even worse is when she climbs a monster and says some shit like

I couldn't fucking believe the first time and the second time now, where I had to use two Wakestones to continue fighting a Hydra because my pawn would not stop getting right in front of their faces and casting her spells, only to get interrupted every two seconds. Oh and she was trying to climb them too, she ended up getting eaten.
She's always had a guardian inclination and I'm not sure if she's always had scather but that's her current one.

I'm not sure if she climbs them and gets in melee range because I've played all the rogue classes and my play style has remained the same throughout the game - climb big enemies and hit them and get up in melee range all the time but she's copying the same habits now.

Any tips to stop my pawn from being brain dead? I'm not sure what I should change her inclinations too and if it would even prevent her behavior from happening. I've just always relied on her being herself.
