Go to that site on your 3DS and if the darkest square you can discern is the number 8 square, it's definitely an IPS. If you can discern number 4, then it's a TN.

This is because TNs have better black detail, whereas IPS have black crush, so you can see the darker shade of black (#4) on the TN, but not on the IPS.

Trying to setup homebrew on my 3ds, but when attempting to transfer the files using the built in ftp I get this error

I switched micro sd cards and now I'm suddenly unable to get to the homebrew menu using the .cia I installed. It just gets stuck on "The homemenu ropbin is ready" and I have to reset my 3ds.

Any ideas on what I need to do to fix this? I'm using luma + a9lh and I installed it using the plailect guide.

I had a game I installed via CIA manually with FBI which I thought was corrupted, since it didn't show up in any title managers but launched fine. I deleted a title in FBI that had a numerical name, was roughly the size of the game, and had a green title, and now I can't see the icons for any of my applications on the home menu, but they still show up in the system title manager.

Does anyone know what the fuck I did wrong?

I'll help you since I actually had trouble finding info on it, though it's actually pretty easy.

First, you need fw.img; here's a guide to build it yourself, but I'll also just upload the one I built for you

So just put that on the root of your SD card and in your apps folder add CFW Booter

Run it once to dump your NAND to your SD card (will wipe your card), and after that running it will boot into rednand.

That's pretty much it. You can now use FunKiiU to download shit (and make fake tickets that will only work with rednand), and use wupinstaller y mod to install them.

Julian's downgrader was pretty good and you had unlimited shots since recovery mode would kick you back to 10.3 anyway. Even then, seeing a softbrick for the first time got my mouth dry. No one deserves that feeling.

Haxchi is pretty much a persistent way to access the homebrew loader without having to run an exploit each and every time. Like the HBL cia on 3DS, or the original Homebrew Channel on the Wii. Only if you make a theme pack with Howling Theme Tool. Themes can't be installed one by one as CIA since they work just like DLC, you have to make a pack. You'd have to find the official themes in body_LZ format (3dsiso has it) and add them to the pack just like if they were custom.

I think my super Mario land bundle 3ds that target had a couple months ago was flawed. Damn top screen is very very slightly slanted down to the right. It's almost negligible. But it keeps catching my eye. I dunno how to fix it.

So a few questions about system transferring and NNISs. I hacked my old 3ds and also hacked my new one using the system transfer method. So I have my NNID on my new one and my old 3ds no longer has an active one (which is what I want anyway) but now my bro wants a hacked 3ds too so i am gonna do a system transfer from my old 3ds with the broken NNID to his new one. Do I need to set up a thingy on either his or mine first? Will he be able to set one up himself if he inherits my broken NNID after the transfer? What if I set up another one on my old 3ds before the transfer so he can have a working one himself after I transfer. Can I possibly do that still or will it somehow fuck up the game I have downloaded, since that particular game is assosited with another NNID. Hopefully this makes sense. I'm thinking right now that I am not gonna set up an id on either one for now. Is that the proper mindset? Just feels like the right thing to do.

on the far right there is a collum on the bottom of it you see yellow and red those are systems you avoid. you see sony made it so those cant downgrade by changing some hardware. if your going to downgrade you need to open the system up and use a e3 flasher which is solderless. or you can skip this whole mess and buy a pre downgraded slim on 3.55 from ebay.

As long as you have all the files youre supposed to on said SD card it should work.

Dgtool just tricks your system into thinking its 10.4 so after you use it your system will still show 11.0. You still havent downgraded yet though.

ps3 pkg files can be downloaded for sonys own server but there is no freeshop style app yet. most people download iso files or directory dumps so webman can play the games. Webman runs throught the systems web browser in rebug cfw it can load games , control fan speed, allow for ftp of games, hosts a webserver so you can view the status of the ps3 when your playing it. and it also allows you to spoof an idps for when you get banned from psn. For psn you need psninja or you'll get banned.

I got stuck on the same part. Apparently, as long as you downgraded your Native Firmware (NFirm); you should be using the old steelhax installer with steelhax_payload.bin on the root of your sd card and you hold b when starting it up. However, this has a shit bootrate and the guide doesn't matter theres an updated installer with save file that plays better with 11.2 that was released. I gave up and just used smashbros hax because I spent hours trying to boot steelhax.

A Cobra CFW will usually come with webman.

The most stable and feature-rich CFW is generally considered to be Rebug, but there is no rebug release for 4.81 firmware yet. So, it's up to you if you want to go for Rebug 4.80 or a newer 4.81 CFW.

psninja and any other homebrews are easy to install, just put them on the USB and use the package installer on the XMB.
