I did install the texture mod. You're looking at it right there.

This is why the Reapers were a mistake that never should have been part of the plot.

every character who knew about them should have basically been shitting their pants after the end of ME1, if not outright nihlistic and suicidal. There are tens of thousands of them, just 1 of them could wreck half a fleet by itself, and they wiped out civilizations MUCH more powerful than this one with utter ease with a 100% success rate. They're hanging over the heads of every subplot, rendering everything else essentially meaningless until we figure out how to build a "turn off the Reapers" button. At the very least we should have discovered that at about the same time we discovered the Reapers.

So I really enjoyed mass effect 1 for the story and character development

I only kind of enjoyed 2 because it felt more like gears of war with slight rpg elements, also thermal clips etc

I never picked up 3 because everyone seemed to shit on it right off the bat as the worst sort of tumblrware no story slight action garbage

Would it be worth picking up the collectors edition of the game since it is on sale?

Or should I just let everything lay at ME2 and never bother with the series again

3 is very much worth playing. The combat is better than 2 and it brings back some RPG elements from 1 such as weapon mods and choosing any weapon, but yea it's still mostly a 3rd person shooter.

I recommend pirating it with all DLC. For ME3, the DLC is almost mandatory to enjoying the game. By pirating the only thing you might not be able to do is play multiplayer, but that's not a big dea really.
