For a new Generation you have to complete Hazuki and Manami's route before unlocking the other 2 routes. Once you do that you can start a new playthrough and just pick up at the start of whatever route you want and don't have to go through the common route to get the the route branches. The routes start after Hazuki and Manami gather all their friends on the roof to eat together to celebrate them having started dating. Then there's a scene of Hazuki and Mamani at Hazuki's house. And that's where the routes officially start.

Read both Fata Morgana and Enigma this weekend, thought both were quite good.

There's a few opportunities that they could've thrown in a CG for a few particular scenes (which you wouldn't need Michael for) and bumped it up to 18+ but I don't know it would have been worth it. It might've given scenes like Giselle's rape a lot more impact if we could actually see it, but then you most likely lose a CG in another place, given that it was such a low budget title.

Fata is definitely kamige to me. I may have one or two other VNs which are more of a "favorite" for me, but their translations are kind of piss. I think that, even in spite of the pacing issues in Door 6/7, it's largely a very solid VN throughout and the culmination of everything in the final door makes for one of the best finales. Plus, so few other visual novels actually make full use of the audio-aspect. I just wish the backgrounds were drawn.
