Midrange and control are barely playable right now and Vania isn't core in the latter, you can easily find lists AA and up that ditch her.

She's good enough to make Bats playable but even if her deck wasn't holding her back, she's really pretty tame. Only about as good as Levi, and certainly not as good as Roach for 2pp golds.

Vania isn't even above the average compared to other currently good class 2-drops, e.g. Roach, Levi, Liza. She's not even the most favored 2-drop in her own class, since that still goes squarely to Blood Wolf.

The standard statline for 2PP is 4 total stats and an upside. Not 4 total stats vanilla, not 3 total stats with an upside. It's 2/2 with Ward, or 2/2 that heals every turn, or 2/2 that generates a Shadow.

Vampy is a vanilla 2/2 played on curve that requires additional resources to do anything at all. This immediately puts her below curve if we're examining her in a vacuum. She only meets the minimum expectation here because Blood has the cards to support her.

After evo, her stats are valued at 4/4 and 1/1. This only brings her to curve because extra bodies are roughly half-value under every card that spawns them in this game. She only comes out ahead of curve because the extra burn procs off her bat.

Look at the voice acting in JP for characters like Leonidas, Fafnir, Odin, and countless other characters. A lot of grills become waifubait LOLISOCUTE bullshit but a ton of male characters and some of the female characters like Dark General tend to be much more serious about voice acting, and pack a lot of energy behind what they say. I played the dub and undub, and maybe it’s because I’m conversationally fluent in Japanese, but undub is really superior. Do whatever you want though, I agree if you can’t speak Japanese there’s no real reason to undub it. Inb4 anime otaku, studied Japanese for 3yrs one of which was at Waseda University. Girlfriend is Japanese as well.

For me, it matters quite a lot.Japanese is a language with tons of nuance and context, and in translation it gets lost and things like tone and the extension of vowel sounds etc is really important for personality of a character.Like the way quickblader says へっ!に~ぶいな!all cocky and junk, But his evolve sounds angry as fuck and says このうすのろものが!Word choice, pronunciation, personal pronouns, etc pack a lot of personality and expression into Japanese. I just think the dub loses a lot of it and the characters sound bland and lazy.
