It's going downhill. I never thought this game would suck but it's getting closer with each update. At first I thought 1.5 was good, but after seeing how things are going in it and how 1.6 is coming along, Blizzard is getting desperate to please the majority while neglecting the minority for the sake of maximizing profit.

Here's what I've learned:

1. People want to play easy classes with low skill levels and massive damage
2. The minority of players enjoy a challenge and stick to challenging heroes because the easy classes are boring
3. Blizzard buffs easy classes that take almost no skill and virtually no effort
4. Blizzard nerfs hard classes that take skill and effort because the majority hates the minority of talented players that enjoy a challenge in this game (basically they're scared and feel threatened, so they complain and Blizzard listens)
5. If a hero is unpopular, it will get over-buffed just so it gets used more often which disrupts and alters the entire gaming ecosystem
6. Bugs that are hard to fix don't get fixed... ever (e.g. Roadhog's hook and Hanzo's scatter arrow bull.sh!t)
7. if a hero is a lot of fun, it gets over-nerfed unnecessarily in ways that don't make sense
8. This community is pretty much made up of 90% toxic garbage

I don't care if anyone agrees or disagrees. This is how I see it and my views and opinions have nothing to do with any of you. Go ahead and give me commentless (You)s all you like, it won't delete this post.

I love Sombra.

So, I think it's safe to say that a Widow using her assault rifle is comparable to a Mercy or mechless D.Va when considering her actual combat effectiveness. Widow players obviously know this, which is why they are usually very reluctant to get on the point unless they absolutely have to, they know that they won't be very effective and will probably die.

So what if they improved her assault rifle to make her more flexible? Sounds like a crazy thing, huh? A sniper should logically be at their weakest at short range. Well, this isn't so much the case for Ana and Hanzo, two snipers that can fight on the point just fine and have the tools to survive. Widowmaker is the only traditional sniper in the game, but obviously the way Overwatch is built, it doesn't favour her at all.

So say her assault rifle was buffed, such as more damage and less spread. Not on the currently-crazy scale of Soldier: 76, but enough so people don't say "lol, a Widow. Free kill" when they see her on point? Widow players become more flexible and more readily able to defend themselves, and you get the more frequent luxury of having a Widow that gets on the point. Is that not a win-win?

I think her weapon is fine for the most part, I think focus needs to be given to her currently obsolete ultimate and lackluster abilities. But, it was just a thought. Yay or nay?

9:10 for an example, one of the best Soldier players. The video is old but the point remains, he's not even using "top tier movement" or anything, just completely ignored. Same happens in team fights, seeing top DPS players just ignore enemies who go behind them and deal with what's in front of them unbothered, while I can't even rely on a teammate who counters the enemy's character to win a 1v1 against them.

Yes. They're both good skins but the green really makes the rest of the skin pop and Arctic feels like it's obviously the recolor between the two. The white on the armored parts just look tacky.

Hog's legendary skins are obnoxious and look like shit. I prefer his default design and Pigpen has the best color scheme. If you have to go for a legendary go with the Islander ones because they atleast make the hook look good.

Said it 100 times, Soldier is not supposed to be good, he's meant to be okay.

He can heal himself and his team, has hit scan, has rockets, and his ult is literally auto-aim. His entire kit is designed to make him decent at a bit of everything and allow shitters to learn the game and play somewhat effectively from the very beginning, it's why he's literally the tutorial character. Any sort of buff that puts him in the meta makes specialised heroes obsolete because he can do their job and more.

Nanoboost Genji gives virtually zero counterplay. He spends 55% of his time travelling 35 m/s and oneshotting 200 hps at his destination the remaining 45% of the time.

Soldier just walks on the ground in the open at 5.5 m/s, still possible to just CC him with a sleep dart or hook no more than normal, or you just LoS him/barrier up.

They really don't, the projectiles in this game are more generous than any other FPS around. Hanzo shoots literal homing logs, Mei has near hitscan level projectiles that are the size of softballs, Zen orbs have ridiculous travel time while being huge,Genji stars have two fire patterns that more than make up for the "difficulty" of how they are spaced, only Pharah has a somewhat restrictive projectile and it gets the benefit of being a 120 hit if you can land it.

What the real problem is, Hitscan will always, no matter the game be better in nearly every and any situation be better than projectile because accuracy and the speed that the damage is dealt.

its so fast that it registers a hit at normal distances before anybody has a chance to move, and due to having a large projectile size it's easier to find a hit than with hitscan.

most projectiles and projectile heroes in the game have turd projectile speed (Pharah, Junkrat, Symmetra, Lucio) while not doing any more damage or even less damage than hitscan with no possibility of headshot. It gives projectiles a bad name.

Not going to happen at all I'm sure, by the time the hero pool is large enough to support bans the game will be dead because that will be in year 2059.

You need to accept that the game will always be like this, a hitscan god, overbloated tank toolkits, and supports that are dps with utility ults and healing because Mercy is terrible design that's outclassed by any other support.

This will never be a balanced game, there will always be a meta of 6 core heroes, the FOTM will change for a few, and you'll still have the essentials in every game for here to eternity.

This game is a nightmare to balance. If you buff Pharah by making her hitbox smaller and increasing the rocket speed a little like should be done, Reaper will be even more shit. If you buff Reaper then Reinhardt will move from borderline shit to shit and Winston will also become shit. Symmetra is now still shit but just in a more elaborate way that is harder to fix.

her hps is the issue, changing her burst wont do anything but push dps characters even farther out
burst doesnt make tanks immortal, heal upkeep outpacing damage does, and buffing damage only further exacerbates dps invalidating one another (as seen with the soldier buff pushing everyone but mccree the fuck out) without addressing the core issue
they cant keep power creeping until tanks are no longer tanks, they need to actually make tanks killable through attrition and focus fire without effectively lowering dps health at the same time

and of course theres the permanent looming issue of "WHY DO CHARACTERS HAVE STUN ABILITIES ON C/D" since their pick facilitation hands out free burst damage and burst is far more likely to burst through low health classes
but theyre never actually going to address that
