I was thing more of the lines of the same card but without the OPTs and she re-summons herself if sent to the GY by a card effect so you have a tuner to go with your dragon after Sage/Master is done with his effect.

People keep saying this, but it just was never true. Which is why there were such ridiculous amounts of illegal plays and other misplays on DN.

If anything the truth is much closer to being that players on DN could easily play while having no clue about how interactions work, but since their opponent either had no clue either no one ever points out any of the mistakes.
Whereas you can throw these players onto YGOPro or another ADS client, and while they may very well call foul at first, these clients teaches them about interactions they had no clue ever even existed. Because the client shows them.

Can YGO lose its player base if it become bad enough?

At this point I'm doubting this is possible, YGO is already as bad as it gets, and I'm not overreacting.
The only way to YGO become worse is by having FTK formats, but that's simple to manage, because finding and banning cards responsable for FTKs is easy.
So YGO is not bad enough to be a 1-turn game, but YGO is bad enough to be a 2-3 turns game, and that is indeed the bottom of the barrel.

So, yeah, if YGO isn't losing players now, it won't ever lose player just because the game went to shit.

Mare Mare to win, also Enterblathnir, VFD and Level 9 Towers that floats into Exterio.

They work by destroying themselves and their counterparts to drop level 9's on board to make VFD.

Just like Dragon Rulers, only harder to use because they don't count themselves.

Blaster only needed itself and another fire monster to pop something. Agnimazud needs himself, and 2 other fires to banish a monster.

You can summon Agni by popping another fire you control/in hand and also Bahrastos you control/in hand, and then Bahrastos will trigger and summon another Wyrm from deck, giving you your 2 level 9's.

And then there's the tribute-summon True Draco monsters which work entirely differently, but their s/t support is good.

I picked up my vanqishers and fathomers, any other important highish rarity cards I should be looking to pick up for True Kings? I'm thinking about picking up an exterio.

ABC, D/Ds, Blue-eyes, Darklords and Frogs are all dead at this point; Metalfoes are only alive because their deck design lets them splash anything generic to work so their essentially an extension of Zoodiacs now.
Either Zoodiacs go or bust, even letting off Shaddolls, Monarchs or even Nekroz at this point would do nothing, they'll all just integrate Zoodiacs and keep the cancer going.

Essentially Shaddolls got the card banned because they had generic fusions for Light, Dark, and Earth (as well as Fire, which was mostly less relevant) which were the only really relevant attributes during the Shad/BA/Qli/Satellar format, and didn't mind the discard that much. People were getting their shit sacked while Shaddolls stayed almost even on cards while disrupting with no way to play around it.

One-way interactive card, basically.

So, if Yubel gets a retain how do you retrain it to deserve to be a level 10? original Yubel doesn't even force the monsters to battle her and you have to feed her another monster every end phase or it dies. Even back then it was barely deserving of being a level 7 let alone a 10.

Well the difference is, Gravekeepers don't strictly rely on Necrovalley staying on the field. It's a big boost and very good disruption, but they don't need it to function.

Since Toons have summoning sickness, the protection from Toon Kingdom is very, very important to keep them on the field to do anything at all. Moreover, it's important to summon them in the first place. To make matters even worse, they blow up if you lose Toon World, which is really an unnecessary restriction.
