Toriel felt like she was about to faint. The former queen did not dislike her friend's enthusiastic brother, but agreeing to do a 'cooking collaboration' for Frisk's birthday cake with him was without doubt a bad idea.

Papyrus had added all kinds of strange things to the mixture in order to enhance the flavour. He had been taught by Undyne that the more passionately you cook, the tastier the food gets!

The goat lady barely had a say as Papyrus threw in ingredients in bizarre combinations she had never seen before in cooking with a huge smile on his face. She could practically see a menacing purple aura slowly rising out of the cake batter, which by then had turned a demonic black colour.

"Well, then, Miss Toriel, shall we get to baking it?"
The skeleton happily marched over to the oven and was about to place the mixture inside, but Toriel grabbed his arm to intervene.

"Hm? Is something the matter?"
"I believe... we should use a different recipe."
"Why is that? Can't you see our cooking is absolutely ~bursting~ with delicious flavours?" Papyrus asked, tilting his head quizzically.
"I do not believe this is suitable for human consumption!"
"Because it's too delicious?"
"No!"
"Then, why...?"
"Your recipe will only lead to disaster!"
"What do you mean?"
Toriel, deciding a non-verbal approach would be best, silently scooped a spoonful of the cake batter and placed it in Papyrus' mouth.
"Ack!"
The skeleton recoiled in disgust and spat out the mixture.

"Do you understand what I am saying, now?"
Papyrus reluctantly nodded.
He couldn't believe that he was subjecting his brother and friend to such horrors for so long... But now wasn't the time for such thoughts.

"I understand. I'll follow your lead." If his cooking wasn't the best, then all he had to do was improve it. It wouldn't do any good pretending it was delicious when it wasn't or sulking about the fact it was bad. Right now, he had to bake a wonderful cake for his cool friend!

The skeleton's face cracked into a half-smile and the entertainer could have sworn he heard something akin to laughing. It was just as creepy and off-putting as he expected.

"I usually employ... a different approach, but times do change." he said, finally pulling his hand back into the dark folds of his clothes. "Where do one get a drink around here?"

Despite not actually needing to do so, Mettaton took a deep breath. Despite the offer, he wasn't quite sure he was ready for a night so experimental.

I was going to say something like this too. Most other characters appear alone but the skeletons appear together in one of the most impressionable parts of the game (after the tutorial level where you dont know what to expect)
The only other characters that appears with another is MTT and alphys (very shortly) then Papyrus and undyne (phonecalls and standing next to eachother)

I would give you examples, but since you're not a skelefag names would probably not tell you much, but there is a big difference between Sansfags, Papfags and general skelefags (though most of the former will also identify as skelefags if they like the other skellie, even if their preference is for one of them).
I can see it in the fanworks: there are people who legit have both as their favs, give both love and attention. If you have a preference it shows sooner or later.

There are just two posters: you and me. /utg/ was the only place I felt so happy, only place when I felt I had friends who wouldn't shun me for my looks or awkward behavior. But sooner or later it had to end. /utg/ started slowing down. I was panicked. But after a sleepless night, where I thought about ending it all, I decided I won't allow it. So to keep it alive I created a bot, that emulates typical /utg/ posts. Sometimes living people come here- for example contentfags- and do their stuff, and then they're loved or hated, praised or ignored, all by my wondrous machine. It would slow down during the dead hours, argue about which character is shit, get meltdowns arguing with itself, agree with itself, ask questions and answer them...
I hoped keeping the general alive will make people eventually return. I was wrong. Most of the time the true poster counter, without my intervention, would be around 3-5. I was devastated. I was alone. I tried contacting contentfags on their tumblrs or fa accounts- but I couldn't dare to.
I couldn't stand this. And finally, I ended my life.
