I'd like to share a revelation that I've had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your fandom and I realized that you're not actually people. Every person on this website instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding board but you horsefuckers do not. You move to a board and you multiply and multiply until every normal person is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another board or website. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Horsefuckers are a disease, a cancer of this website. You're a plague and we are the cure.

I have a theory about anime relating to pedophilia, and it's to with the voices
Japanese anime characters all sound like babbling children, just listen to this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epKi9r_EJ0U

It's like when you talk to babies/toddlers with gobbledy gook language, just uttering random words
And these weeaboos want to fuck the young looking, and even younger sounding anime girls, don't tell me they aren't fucking pedos
>>
>>160877364
What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little pony? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in magic kindergarten, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Nightmare Moon, and I have over 300 confirmed friendships. I am trained in magic warfare and I’m the top pony in the entire Equestrian armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another friend. I will wipe you the fuck out with friendship the likes of which has never been seen before on Equestria, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Ponynet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of pegasi across Equestria and your hoofprints are being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, pony. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can hug you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hooves. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed friendship, but I have access to the entire arsenal of ponies and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable flank off the face of the continent, you little pony. If only you could have known what magical friendship your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn pony. I will shit friendship all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, pony.

The 4-2-2-2 was an entirely different formation than the horsecock, which was a 3-4-2-1.

Also /mlp/ didn't play the 4-2-2-2 like a box. It was more of a hybrid between a magic box and the wide variant.

I'll specify that one of the differences in this case is that there are a lot less people who say "oh no a giant robot my day is ruined" than say would be the case with /mlp/. Another difference is that as /m/ was not competing they were a neutral side in Autumn so using their stuff didn't interfere with the idea of using a neutral pitch at the end of the tourney.

You defied tradition and policy to play favorites, which seems to be a pattern with you. It was a dick move and you're making it worse now with this handwaving. Nah.
2 reasons

1) dark Boris as a meme has grown beyond being a way to cope with pony rage to just being a symbol of fickle fortune and perceived unfairness in PES in general.

2) dipshits not realizing it was a meme amd other assholes badgered Boris and started calling for him to be banned from streaming toward the end of summer. 2016 when it started to look like /mlp/ would get in the top 4 again.

This ruined the mood of the last few matches to say the least and led to some other things.

So I'm guessing punished Boris refs or pony Boris refs would be seen as in poor taste.

I could be wrong though.

>>160893523
>Cmon Lear, there's some truth to that though.
Maybe. The honest reality is that teams like /tv/, /m/, and /out/ are generally more liked by people outside of those boards than people outside of /mlp/ like /mlp/. Because of this there is the feeling that you can do more with the hosting of a cup without making the cup less fun for people that aren't from the board that is hosting. Even if a board is hosting it doesn't mean that other boards aren't watching or matter and it is important to make the Cup as good as we can for all of them, not just the hostees.

>>
>>160894572
>>160894784

>>160894638
>The honest reality is that teams like /tv/, /m/, and /out/ are generally more liked by people outside of those boards than people outside of /mlp/ like /mlp/.
So you do confirm there are favorites though. And thus /m/ technically received a special treatment here.

Not saying that I disagree with not doing it again but you KNOW you wouldn't have done it in the first place if /mlp/ was in /m/'s place. And so PMB's rage is (somewhat) not completely unjustified.

>"it's cool" isn't a matter of POV
Put aside that /m/ is a big market team. Did you watch the final weekend? A ton of people asked why /m/'s pitch was being used for the third place match and such, but no official answer was ever given. So, the vacuum was filled by anons who said "it's because /m/ is the host," "host board's stadium gets used for third place," "host board gets the final boss match," etc. /merit/ could have avoided that misinformation spreading by making a formal announcement that an exception was being made and explaining why. Instead, they didn't say anything, so a bunch of people now think that's the new policy. Come winter, you are going to see a flood of pony asshurt because the "new rule" is being broken.

Some people will find that funny, but it will be annoying and a distraction that could have easily been avoided by following the rules or at least breaking them in a responsible way. It's common sense. None of the reasons offered so far are anywhere close to objective, unless /merit/ now keeps a list of cool, fan-friendly teams, in which case we should just axe all the other ones, right?

There was a chance to do something cool this autumn because Orbital Ring is a sweet stadium that is well liked by most of the Cup watchers and was neutral to the competiton. That's the slippery slope though. You legitimately admit to catering to a losing side because of the whining majority. A majority that is mostly featured on this general that you yourself know is a hellhole. Does that means that if enough people shitpost about /a/ their stadium shouldn't be used? /sp/ is the board who invade the most when they win, should their stadium be used?

With respect, that is a textbook example of playing favorites.

>PMB is mad about is that he feels because this was done once it not happening every time is wrong.

No, I criticized you for breaking the rule. The fallout of that decision was that some people now expect Cirrus Maximus to be used for third place and for the FBM in Winter, and they will be disappointed when that doesn't happen. Even if you don't like /mlp/ and hate me, it should matter to you as commissioner that you're administrating the Cup in a way that will lead to viewer dissatisfaction. Rules are there for a reason and if you're going to make exceptions, you should be very careful about how you do it.

There are people who like /mlp/'s stadium way more than Orbital Ring, but their opinions don't matter as much to you because you don't share them. That's bias and it is influencing your decision-making. No commissioner is free of bias, but you should at least take the hint when it's being shown to you that you are acting in an overtly biased way.

Whether that's a mountain out of a molehill situation depends on what your goals are as commissioner.

Yeah probably could have communicated better on that front. I was out for most of the final day because of IRL obligations I'd been putting off for most of the Cup so by the time I had a chance to respond we were many threads past that point.

You can talk about the slippery slope but do you actually think the situation you're describing could happen? Being honest that's pretty stupid if you actually feel that's actually a scenario that is likely or possible. Very few decisions in the Cup are made because the best reason to do something is that it's how it was done previously. If we think it'll be more fun to do something differently then how it was in the past we will do it the more fun way every time. This has been true since the Cup's inception and part of what makes it fun in my opinion is that we'll do things because they're fun, I see that as one of the best reasons there is to do something when we're talking about an event like the Cup.

>>160896459
I'm not the right person to ask because all my attempts to into Blender have been met with failure. There are some tutorials on the wiki but I would suggest going to the aesthetics channel in the /vg/L Discord since that's where a lot of Blender wizards hang out that can set you on the right path.

>>160896963
There is no rule, there never was. Get that in your skull. The difference between Orbital Ring and your stadium is that in a neutral match people would only object to one of those stadiums, and you should have the clarity to tell which. Yes you're making a bigger deal out of this than it is because that seems to be your prime directive over the last few months.

So you're asking for more shitposting and falseflagging to make changes?
Again, yes people would object, but if the result of previous cups means that the stadium could be featured, it should. And the other side should just suck it up and get better so it doesn't happen again. That's how it's supposed to work. And even if /mlp/ is hated that hate is also a huge hype and invest people into their matches. There's a reason there is also "DIE HORSEFUCKERS" during the match. It's also why /mlp/ matches always have a record attendance, no matter what people say. EVERYONE watch them, wether to see them win or die.

A team SHOULD be hated, that's part of a good competition: to have someone to root against. But you shouldn't try to censor the hate because of hurt feelings. Just saying.

Because I felt that it was a chance to do something unique. I have beef with Konami stadium because I feel for all the cool stadiums we have we spend the last day on the most boring. I'm not invested in /m/ but Orbital Ring garner's a positive reaction so I saw a chance to do something cool and kill two birds with one stone.

>>160898296
/mlp/ can be as hated as they want, but whenever /mlp/ stuff comes up for any reason both the pro and anti horsefuckers see it as a reason to derail everything and that just doesn't seem like a grand ole time to me.
>>
>>160898296

>Again, yes people would object, but if the result of previous cups means that the stadium could be featured, it should.

You're missing the point. Playing non-/mlp/ matches in an /mlp/ match is a suicide move. /mlp/ won't tune in because most of their numbers only watch /mlp/ matches. The fans of the teams involved would tune out (especially in a relatively meaningless 3rd place match) because they don't want horses shoved down their throat for no reason other than people who aren't even watching are triggered.

>And the other side should just suck it up and get better so it doesn't happen again.

Maybe, but the horse side also needs to suck up on the fact that people don't want them there and no matter how many stars they win they'll always be subjected to what their ancestors called "Fursecution".

>That's how it's supposed to work.

In terms of aesthetics and such, the cup works on Rule of Cool. There's no hard and fast rule for these things, for exactly this reason.

>And even if /mlp/ is hated that hate is also a huge hype and invest people into their matches. There's a reason there is also "DIE HORSEFUCKERS" during the match.

That would mean more if any of that could show through the endless GIDDY UP spam that constantly accompanies any /mlp/ match and wasn't drowned out by E.Daily users in the chatbox.

>It's also why /mlp/ matches always have a record attendance

I'm sure a lot of other teams could get a lot of viewers if they advertised on every other site or forum relevant to their board topic as well.

>A team SHOULD be hated, that's part of a good competition: to have someone to root against.

And that team should be hated for the right reasons instead of being nothing but obnoxious cunts who try to get their way every time at the detriment to every other team.

> But you shouldn't try to censor the hate because of hurt feelings.

At this rate, and with people like PMB and BGP I honestly have more hate towards /p/ turning into /wg/ 2.0 than /mlp/, either they take this shit way too seriously or overuse the salt meme to boredom. And none of those makes me hate them, instead it annoys me like that retarded kid your neighbors have.
Seriously this kind of autism from the horsefuckers is pretty much the reason GR15 exists. Everything has to be pastel colored horses, and that gets annoying when they keep on shoving their beloved show down your throats.
>>
>>160896963

>it should matter to you as commissioner that you're administrating the Cup in a way that will lead to viewer dissatisfaction

If you have to choose between dissatisfaction of core viewers and dissatisfaction of a group who aren't in the target audience AND only watch one team, it's the smarter move to cater to the core audience.
>>
>>160899467

Every big market team does. take off your bias glasses
>>
>>160899516
>Seriously this kind of autism from the horsefuckers is pretty much the reason GR15 exists
The actual reason was because MLP got a different treatment out of the people on /b/ and /v/ who couldn't contain their autism and had to rage at it because they didn't want it despite being allowed.

/co/ had it pretty contained, /b/ became a slugfest because people realized that you could annoy people by shoving ponies down, and yet people still acted butthurt. GR15 would not have happened if not for /b/ raging against them.

This doesn't change now: Even if NOTHING is happening in the general, there isn't a single 4ccg thread where /mlp/ is not mentionned. 6 years and counting.

It's supposedly been a non-factor since PES14 in which it made scorelines grossly lopsided in favor of teams with a controller.

In any case the real problem in testing is that it slightly skews results. Without a controller the CPU will automatically do preset switches at certain game points.

PMB sperged out over Lear allowing a custom stadium for Autumn 3rd place match because horsefuckers will take it as a precedent thinking they'll have their stadium used in Winter, which obviously won't be the case because muh double standards

>>
>>160907748
This would've been all over if Lear had the balls to admit that yes, there is a double standard, instead of dodging it. Then we could've actually moved somewhere, but instead it's this false pretense, insults and ultimately status quo.

>>
>>160907932
But he did. He just didn't outright state it, but I certainly think he made it clear that that's what he thinks and what he bases the decision on.
Besides one example of an arbitrary spur-of-the-moment decision isn't really grounds for strong precedent.

Ultimately just put your trip on PMB.
>>
>>160908121
He admitted in his retorts he would use anyone else's pitch except /mlp/ and in the same breath stated there were no biases or double standards.
It's clear what he meant but he was too much of a chicken shit to admit it.
>>
>>160908121
>he just didn't outright state it
That's exactly the problem. If his first post just said yes, there's a double standard because /4ccg/ and half of the hitbox chat would be butthurt, there wouldn't need to be 50 posts about this shit and instead they could've worked out a solution. This is like the third time we've had an argument over what privileges a host board gets and it's still not solved because in the end everything just ends with the horsefuckers and the rest shitflinging.
At least acknowledging it outright would've moved us forward. Probably. I'm probably just an optimistic retard.
And yes, I'm not saying it should be a precedent. That whole point was dumb. If anyone from /mlp/ honestly expected that this would mean horseheads for FBM and their stadium for 3rd place match they need to get a fucking reality check or just go back to whichever social site they came from.
>>

PMB wanting this is kinda what started this entire debate though. He might've been baiting to get Lear to state there is a bias, but that's expecting too much of both of them; PMB to be able to plan a scheme like that and Lear to actually have a spine.

Well honestly I can see the logic in the thinking that when host board's stadium is used in one cup, it could be used in the next one as well. And I would bet that if /o/ won Summer, we would actually have it. Does /o/ even have a custom stadium? It's just that expecting the same for /mlp/ is retarded because of the obvious double standard and anyone not knowing that is reddit cancer anyway. I'm assuming PMB isn't that braindead to not know it and just baited Lear trying to make him admit it because there is some drama feud between them or whatever the fuck.
The thing that bothers me is mainly how Lear handled it, basically contradicting himself in the same sentence about not playing favourites etc. Just call it what it is and stop pretending there is no bias while admitting you're biased. I also get a feel of implications that /4ccg/ = Cup audience with the excuses that allowing /mlp/ would cause shitposting itt. Perhaps another after-finale cup survey would be useful, like Boris had done once, for a more accurate feedback. Anyone got the results from the last one?

I'll be the exact opposite of disappointed. Frankly, I'm playing the world's smallest violin for the visitors from Horse News that won't have their creepy obsession pasted on to everyone's cup.

You aren't an /mlp/ manager, you aren't officially involved in the cup in any way, you haven't done anything to help ANYONE outside of your little circlejerk in the last year. You have personal issues with Lear outside of this incident, and just based on that a lot of people are going to disregard what you have to say. Get that through your head and walk away.

>it should matter to you as commissioner that you're administrating the Cup in a way that will lead to viewer dissatisfaction.

I think it's pretty clear from the reactions in this thread that it would lead to a Net positive for our satisfaction. I'm far from a Lear fanboy, but the sooner you look and realize that most people here think that your hobby is weird and creepy, the clearer his justification will be.
>>
Reminder that there are some decent people associated with the /mlp/ team, but you'd never know it because they don't go around shitting out of their mouths every chance they get to try to act like a big boy.
>>
The fucking point is Lear thinks the cup is his plaything. He changes things because he wants to. Then he openly states he has a bias against a team when the same situation applies. This started because he got called out it.
tl:dr Lear is going to continue fucking things up until he actually does something he can't post a wallpaper to fix.
>>
>>160917339
For once, Lear is doing something that a majority of cup viewers have given him a pretty clear mandate to do. I know you're upset that /yourteam/ is the one that takes the shit for it, but this isn't equal representation, you're not owed anything.

Even counting Horse News, it's a huge net positive.

90% of viewers don't like MLP. The show, the "fandom", the creepy brony culture, and especially the team. Just because your circlejerk tells you that it's just "some people being salty (/ " doesn't make that untrue.

Reminder that Lear asked /AesCo/ whether to use Konami or Orbital Ring for the knockouts. Everyone in /AesCo/ said Konami for all matches. Lear basically told them to go fuck themselves and was going to tell PAVAL to use Orbital Ring for every match anyway because Konami was "boring" until AesCo got him to use Konami after all after a lot of hassle. The Orbital Ring 3rd place match was basically just a compromise so he'd finally give in.
>>
>>160918052
>creepy brony culture
Which part? Liking cartoons for little girls? No different from /a/ or /co/. Sexualizing cartoons for little girls? See above. Getting together in public and sperging out over it? Desu I've felt many creepier vibes at Comic-con or anime cons than brony cons; clearly bronies produce some awkward spaghetti but it's not really any worse than anime fans, (some) comic fans, or even board game players/minis gamers.

If you specifically mean the stupid crap constantly posted on /mlp/, I think the problem with that is that it's boring, repetitive, and uncreative rather than "creepy." Fetish generals are no creepier than /d/, or /4ccg/ when we're posting loli pastas.

I know this sounds like bait given the current /4ccg/ climate but at least I'm putting in a good faith effort to make the hook look good

That's actually the least baity thing I've seen in this entire thread. I kind of appreciate you at least trying to put your mindset out there without just calling everyone salty assholes.

>Liking cartoons for little girls?
The animation style, voices, and simplistic messaging is even more childish than your average /c/-level CGDCT anime. With /a/ and /co/, there's a variety - it's not all designed for small children. You can't say that about /mlp/.

>Sexualizing cartoons for little girls?
Dude. There's a HUUUUUGE difference between "Sexualizing cartoons with actual people" (which I think is a little weird but my opinion is far from the majority here) and "Wanting to fuck an actual literal horse". This is probably the weakest part of your argument.

>Getting together in public and sperging out over it?
Really can't find anything to disagree with you on that part of it.

>I think the problem with that is that it's boring, repetitive, and uncreative rather than "creepy."
The fact that /foe/ is somehow NOT the creepiest thing ever posted online anywhere ever should be all the evidence we need to show that /mlp/ does in fact have the creepiest generals.

This would all be resolved by adding "4chan's Global Rules apply to all cup content, streams, and cup discussion channels" to the list of rules. Simple. Ties us back in with the site that we're supposed to be actually representing, fixes the "Ponies shoving their shit everywhere" issue, gives us guidelines to follow. Wow, how hard is that?

/mlp/ are analogues to furries at this point, and they share that horrible tendency of making a pony version of everything and trying to insert themselves everywhere they can.

No other board does this (except maybe /pol/)

Also
>>160918456
>Even if that wasn't the case you're comparing a single show to two boards dedicated to everything in their fields.
This

It cannot be overstated how fundamentally /mlp/ rubs 4chan the wrong way. An entire board based entirely on one show and the only reason it exists is because horsefuckers were so insufferable that they had to be contained and globally disallowed. /mlp/ as a board is tolerated by the rest of 4chan, not accepted.

The closest you have to /mlp/ is /vp/, which is based on a single franchise, and the rest of 4chan fucking hates them... Oh, wait, no they don't, because /vp/ users aren't fucking insufferable.

CPU still changes presets even if it's off. If they're winning by a certain margin at a certain time, they'll move to the defensive preset. PES will also sometimes randomly turn fluid on
>>
This is amazing work. As a student of history I can say that I've seen hundreds of pictures like this, and have shown little to no emotion. The pictures were just windows to a past I've never lived in, people who I never knew or would ever know. But this picture made me stop and evaluate. Putting Rainbow Dash in made me actually look at what is really happening. Putting something that everyone is familiar with in a situation that no one knows, and to make people feel those emotions well, that takes amazing talent. Thank you.
>>

Lear has no effective power, because the ones that get their hands dirty are the /aesco/ as well as the various people contributing people who actually do work for the cup; if they stop working, you can bet your asses that Lear and the tools at /merit/ won't do shit in their place

>>
>>160919507
Lear got told no? But I thought there was never a policy! Why would /aesco/ resist a perfectly reasonable request like using a team's custom pitch for the entire knockouts? There's no rule!
>>
>>160921334
Especially when Orbital Ring is such a sweet stadium, I wouldn't even mind seeing it for the 16th time in a row.
>>
>>160921721
This. I get it that we should use different stadium, but why use the stuff we already know. I think we only saw /pol/'s stadium once. Or /out/'s twice. I wouldn't mind some diversity.
>>
>>160921819

By the way, what is even "neutral ground" in the context of virtual memegreass? Apart from mulp and the various rivalries, all stadiums (provided both managers agree) are basically neutral grounds
>>
>>160921968
Konami is neutral ground because it isn't made for any board, so it can be used for literally every team.
>>
>>160921968
Konami Stadium
>>
>>160922049
>>160922108
Isn't there other neutral stadium? Or are those overriden by Team stadiums?
>>
>>160918052
>90% of viewers
Last I memeber most /mlp/ pols has them either winning or losing by like 10% at most. But I don't expect /4ccg/ to be accurate.
>>
>>160922247
Yeah IIRC in the whole 4CC stadium pack Konami is the only neutral one, basically there for the teams that don't have their own stadium unless they/streamer decide on using another one, the rest are all team stadiums.
>>
There's nothing wrong with using the host team's stadium for the later stages, if it's a host it should actually be a host.
>>
>>160922338
So why not decide, a neutral stadium would be [team not participating to the cup]
And the third match's stadium is then decided by a manager or at random.
That way we get some diversity and not Lear acting like a selfish prik.
>>
>>160922407
>if it's a host it should actually be a host
what did he mean by this?

>>160922430
The whole argument up there was about Lear's favouritism and bias against /mlp/ so this wouldn't really solve the problem. I'm actually fine with using Konami, cycling through well made stadiums to have variety is good too, but while playing Konami eliminates the bias, this would only increase it because /mlp/'s stadium would never, ever be played on
>>
>>160922247
There's the Riggly field too, though that one is not always included in the stadium packs.
>>
>>160922430
Honestly I think we should either stick to Konami, or possibly Riggly Field, as the only stadium used in the knockouts. /mlp/ isn't the only problematic case; imagine if we had an /a/-/sp/ knockouts match when one of those teams was the host >implying either of those teams will win an elite any time soon :^).

If we think that's too boring we should put together a more comprehensive meme pitch to represent the cup in general. Maybe Riggly Field could get a complex aesthetic redo.
>>
>>160922589
I mean it should be hosting more than in name, actually give them merit for winning a cup.
>>
>>160922697
The merit for winning a cup is having won a cup
>>
>>160922049
>>160922108

Yeah but it's boring, why can't we use other custom stadiums?
>>
>>160922697
I actually do think we should codify somewhere what it means to host a cup (refs? pitches? hyp machine? PES menu aesthetics?). I remember the first cup I watched was hosted by /pol/, but you wouldn't have known if it wasn't for the brief mention in the hyp video. Not that I'm complaining.
>>
>>160922697
We can talk about that once /mlp/ is banned or when they stop winning cups, until then such discussion is off the table because it would mean more ponies in the cup.
>>
>>160922647
This.
I think the konami stadium's PLAYING FIELD should stay neutral, but I don't see why we can't improve the rest of the environment. Putting shit like all the commissionners on the sides, shit like a shadowy horse council in a corner, a pile of shit labelled "4ccg" on one side...

Basically every possible 4ccg meems and personnalities represented, but on the sides, so that the field/ball itself is clearly visible. (with shit like Doomguy hiding the field either)
>>
>>160922623
There is literally no reason to not include riggly field every cup. If it has to replace some shit stadium that's literally just a team logo then do it. Who the fuck cares about those.
>>
>>160922647
>making the knockouts stadium a meta-circlejerk

>>
>>160922863
There is literally no reason to not include each participating team's field every cup. If it has to replace some shit stadium that's literally just a picture of some attention whore then do it. Who the fuck cares about him.

Reminder that Lear "has beef with Konami Stadium" because it's "boring," meaning he's an eternal newfag who would've never followed the cup during GB's era because that would've been "boring" too.

Reminder Boris is to blame for the cup becoming a "professional" event with an encyclopedia of regulations. He created the mentality behind everything /mlp/ does.

It all went wrong when we allowed obvious mercs as commissioners.
>>

/merit/ wants to have it both ways. If somebody does something for fun against the rules or not even against the rules but questionable based on tradition (like not turning in an export so /a/ can play or using meme tactics in a consequential match like /y/), they "aren't taking things seriously enough and should be punished." If somebody complains because /merit/ breaks the rules or wants to do something questionable (like playing favourites with host privileges or wanting /wg/ to go through over /adv/), they're "taking things too seriously and need to relax."

It's Goldilocks syndrome.

>>
>>160940270
This site doesn't want many board. Just the freakout when hiro went panic posting is proof of that.
The point of that is that the decision shouldn't be made by hypocritical asshole on a board full of shitposters.

The same reason Boris let and defended Tony doing all that shit, he either didn't care about Tony favoritism, or he favorited /mlp/ himself.
>>
>>160940596
Cool. /mlp/ won two elite cups (and a babby, but that seems to be before most peoples' times). They did pretty well in both of those. That's the kind of stuff you should be happy about. Not demanding treatment that hasn't been an 'official' thing before and nobody actually wants to see.

It's almost incredible how wrong both of them were on that - PMB for having a public temper tantrum when he really has no business doing ANYTHING (again, not a manager, not officially involved in the team in any way, no reason to say anything with his trip on other than for attention) and doubling down when people called him out on it. Lear for being a traditional smartass in his first three responses without confirming it even actually WAS PMB, then doing kind of a shitty job explaining himself.

But hey, now we get to shitpost. Isn't that why we're here?

I'll give you that much. Lear has to change his attitude towards anonymous posters, sometimes they do have a lot to add.

No, just some people involved with /mlp/ take it as a mandate to act like they're more important than people who manage other teams. You got that attitude from PMB when he did the fetus streams, like he was doing suuuch a favor for all of us by streaming these boooring teams that aren't /mlp/.

There are plenty of people involved with /mlp/ that don't act like cunts about it. Noteperson and Darkbow are solid. Hopefully MagicBlue will be too.

Alright time for some rambling that won't fix anything and only make all of this somehow worse.

Something that keeps coming up in explosive ways is that I hold a very different view on Cup traditions and how hardline we should be on the rules than a chunk of the other people in the Cup. I don't like doing something if I feel the best reason for it is that it was done that way in the past and I would rather make a decision I feel is better than doing something because it's written that way in the rules. I get why that mindset doesn't sit well with some people.

In regards to the stadium. I wanted to do something in Autumn because I thought it would be a fun change of pace for that tourney. I didn't think it was that big of a deal and I still think it shouldn't be but I don't get to chose how important other people feel things are.

With the double standards I feel I'm holding teams to the same standard but one that teams measure up to differently. Favouratism is a way to describe it but I feel that that implies I'm making decisions based on my personal likes and dislikes and I don't feel that's where I'm coming from which is why I tried to avoid agreeing to that word. I do know that how I evaluate what the right choice would be isn't objective at all and that some would even say that evaluating at all is a mistake and there's decent reasons to feel that way. Some people probably feel that this is more dancing around the issue but I'm just trying to say how I feel and I got a feel so complicated.

This is all one of the reasons /merit/ and /aesco/ are important, they serve as a check to every idea that is supposed to smooth out these kind of things, some people don't trust /merit/ to do that and at that point there really isn't anything I can say other than tough shit you're out of luck.

>>160943993
Well alright if you want to make me turn on my trip.

>>

And what's your opinion and randomized stadium? If you want diversity, why feature one of the most used pitch "because it's cool?"?
Shouldn't we feature some of the least used pitch? So /co/ can't make a pitch ever?
What about the idea of a post apocalyptic pitch like boris said?

>>
>>160946331

>>
>>160946331
I think the problem is that, while it's understandable, you admitted that you favorite the whiny circlejerk /4ccg/ part over a standardized format. The same that you easily discard as soon as it's irrelevant, as you proved IN THIS VERY THREAD with how you answered """"PMB"""" at the start. Given how you treat shitposters, why suddenly care about shitposters's feeling for a stadium that a team rightfully deserve to be featured in?
>>
>>160946331

Is it me or is the amount of salt in the cup not going but is just getting to be more focused on a smaller semi-fluid list of changing topics?
>>
I don't really understand how refs work. Do we get custom refs based on who wins/hosts cups?

/jp/'s models and aesthetics were really nice, a Shikieiki ref with Komachi line judges would be funny.
>>

>>
>>160946939

They'll get at least 2 opportunities to play there in Winter. At NO POINT in any previous cup did we play the 3rd place or final boss on a team-specific stadium. I don't agree with Lear wanting to push Orbital Ring (neither did /merit/ obviously) but it doesn't entitle you to the same treatment.

Well ofc if the Third place match pitch goes back to standard I would understand. This is in the case that the 3rd place pitch keep getting personnalized tEXCEPT FOR /mlp/'s WINTER, which is the feeling I got from Lear when he explained that he wouldn't do it because it would lead to hurt feeling.
>>
>>160947020
Short answer: refs are a combination what team is hosting the cup and 4cc meme refs.

It depends on how much work it takes for the volunteers who do aesthetics to make the refs work and how motivated they are.

A few very talented and knowledgeable aesthetics people enjoy /m/ or were struck by ideas or liked the ideas /m/ management suggested for refs and so we got a number of excellent /m/ related refs.
>>
>>160947464
>Robocop
>/m/
>>
>>160947020
Yes

Also custom refs have only been around for 5 cups now I think so what goes into them and how many there are is not set I stone.

However it is reasonable to not be surprised to see refs representing whatever board won the previous Babby/Elite at this point.
>>
> I didn't think it was that big of a deal and I still think it shouldn't be but I don't get to chose how important other people feel things are.
You actively shit on a team and then are surprised people say something.

>>
Hear me out.
Instead of all this arguing and yelling about /myteam/'s great and the team I hate is shit, what if
just,
what if,

the rules are applied globally and with no exception. If /a/ had won Summer than the refs would be /a/ themed. If /sp/ had won Summer than the refs would be /sp/ themed. Since /mlp/ won Summer the refs should be /mlp/ themed. When /p/ wins Winter the refs in Winter will be /p/ themed.

Just a thought.

Seriously, the assmad about virtual memegrass. They won, they host the next one and they should be able to customize the shit.

I'd be down with random stadiums since it'd be fun and maybe even lead to funny happenstances like if a team gets their home pitch but as I learned from recent happenings people are very attatched to Konami stadium.

"I like the punished boris idea for the refs and a kind of 'first cup after the apocolypse' idea since this is the horrible aftermath of mlp's second win" -Boris.

I think the apocalypse theme could be fun since it would aknowledge /mlp/ as the hosts since a nuclear wasteland perfectly encapsulates their board.

>>160947278
>>160947321
Y'know if I really was a tyrant that never bends like is being made out then the last day of Autumn wouldn't have been played on Konami like it was. I do (eventually) listen to what /merit/ and /aesco/ say and I know trying to throw my weight around because I'm commissioner would backfire on me like looking into the wrong end of a firecracker.

>>160946939
I don't think it's /4ccg/ that I'm favouring here. I know that lots of people speak for the viewers and often people do it on different sides of the same argument but that's in part what I'm trying to go from to varying degrees of success. I feel that /mlp/ stuff being too prevelant wouldn't be fun for people beyond those who are always angry about something in /4ccg/. If decisions were made on the basis of pleasing angry shitposters then nothing good would happen. In /4ccg/ I try to honestly look at the posts that I feel are trying to make a point but the whole 50/50 meme does make it difficult sometimes to pick out what is a legitimate attempt at communication.

>>160947381
And then what? If you don't trust /merit/ as it is now I don't think those people would trust me to rebuild it better.

See that's just the thing I don't get. While I agree with the feeling, it would be one out of 8 matches. And its only prevalent because /mlp/ won, not because the board actively pursues it.

You already know that /mlp/ will be okay with having boris or something akin to that as refs, even though you know they have the manpower to make an entire series of pony refs.

... what about the ball then? Pone ball for third place match. Would that still be too much for you? It'll certainly be for some retards around here but at this point it's hopeless.

And if so, why do you keep arguing than the reason that you won't do it for winter is because its ponies? Why not SAY it was a one time thing?

See, I'd be okay with that, but the reason I, and probably PMB and others, reacted is that because you acted like it wouldn't happen because its mlp, not because it wasn't a rule. And that was akin to "we lost and we'll be petty about it." ala librul with trump.

If you say it's a one time thing then you can't go back to it after specifically excluding /mlp/

He told Boris he was a shitty commissioner and asked for is job. Boris said "fuck it" and gave it to him. Lear as commish ever since.

Kinda funny, considering what would follow.

I am ok with this.

I thought our tan is Placeholder-kun
>>
The refs are supposed to be based on the winning team, we first started the trend in for Summer 15
The only exceptions are:
>Special cup occasion such as Summer 16 (5 year anniversary)
>Host board is /mlp/
/fit/ would have had refs but GB was more important
>>
>>160950631

Can I have whatever toad you are licking?
>>
>>160950389

Who's going to stop them? What happens if they do it again after excluding /mlp/?

Is /mlp/ going to pull out in protest? Is this how we finally solve the 4cc's biggest problem?
>>
>>160950389
Dude will do whatever he feels like , cant you read.
>>
>>160948875

A 4chan ban message.
>>
>>160950657

Placeholder is way to all accepting to be 4ccg-tan cause he will play any position with or against anyone.
>>
>>160950090
Lear said specifically it would not be because of /mlp/
>>
>>160950116

a-anon kun, you flatter me
>>
>>160950850

That could work.
Just put it on the front and back of a box head.
>>
>>160951059
And all the other sides, too.
>>
>>160950990
If you were going to update him would you put a spurdo somewhere on him. Like maybe as his belt buckle?

Because benis posting.
>>
>>160950760
Don't take my word for it. Ask Lear or Boris.
>>
>>160950850
A salt shaker could work too.

Because, ala DARK BORIS REPENT, every time there's red card or an offside or shit, the opposing team will always salty.
>>
>>160951156
Sure we could use screenshots of resized ban message Windows for the sides and maybe the top too.

How about a pony head blender wearing a drink hat loaded with cans of salt or bottles of salty tears?
>>
>>160951443
That would be the best ofc but you know /4cry cum goys/ won't want it.
>>
>>160951059

Box heads are bottom tier aesthetics.

There's a lot of things you could do for /mlp/ refs that don't involve pony heads and that are infinitely more creative than some low effort box head stuff.
>>
>>160951443
>Cartoon horse with big wide eyes and a neural expression siping bottled tears from a drink hat while signaling offsides.

Ok you got me, I laughed.
>>
>>160948875
There was talk about a Scruffy ref.
>>
>>160951560

/mlp/ is a bottom tier fanbase.

It's poking fun at people raging about tiny cartoon horses. Doesn't if causing rage make it more appropriate not less?

Use the NCR Veteran Rangers as refs.
I think I saw helmet used by some team.
But now with the new full-body capabilities we can have sick coats too
>>
>>160951732

I suppose that could work.

Or maybe a scruffy patch on the back of the ref uniform shirts?
>>
>>160952113

Not by a long shot. Hell, combine /u/, /pol/, /r9k/, /a/, and /sp/ and it's still less than half a mulp.
>>
>>160952145

In know /sora/ from Tuesday Night Rigging and The No Bully Bowl used the NCR ranger head blender.
