Yeah I do gotta keep that in mind. Lots of these fans are probably 12 or younger. Hell I've seen reaction vids of my work done by 9 year olds along with the Japanese audience. It floors me sometimes when I get fanmail on the blog from people in Japan, Russia, and China loving the comics.

It's neat how my stuff is hitting the younger generation but it also leads to those annoying comments, like them expecting me to make the Chara fight playable or for me to make the entire Dreemurr Reborn storyline a game or animation. They expect a lot.

I think it's fair to place some of the blame on Chara and the player. Chara goes along with it after the player initiates. Of course, I have no idea how cool Frisk would be/is with genocide. They could be fully possessed, or we could be guiding them. I don't believe there's concrete evidence for either.

This isn't really the complicated. Chara isn't supposed to make ingame sense as much as xes supposed to be a jab at the player. The player's baited into putting (supposedly) their actual name as the name of somebody who wasn't the greatest person in the past. In TP this manifests through the reveal that Frisk is their own character separate from the first fallen child, and that the previous fallen child was kinda a cunt.

In Genocide this manifests as Chara revealing at the end that they also exist separately from the player and that they are stronger and more bloodthirsty at the end then the player is.

The player's role in the actual story is left ambiguous as the game is more concerned with exploring the meta aspect then making sure the story fits perfectly into place.

They do it only on Genocide route. I think it's because they don't think that their purpose is to be the angel from the prophecy as that means they have to make the Underground go empty. In this case, by killing everyone. And if you leave someone alive, it kind of ruins the whole thing.

Depends on how you do it. If you just forget about the Mercy button and kill everything you encounter, it's No Mercy route. Otherwise, it's just a very violent Neutral run.
