Mine would be something like Blades of Mercy/Rakuyo (minus spin2win), but when tricked one blade does fire damage, and the other does bolt. R2 attacks with the right only, L2 with the left, and R1 alternates. Scales off both SKL and ARC.

Centeral Pthumuru Root dungeon gave me this

For some reason Shotgun Watchers in preset Chalice's don't drop BLT gems. Exact mechanics are still a mystery. A Depth 3 version of this gem could drop at 24%. But apart from guns there's little point because you can't even get the Lost Chikage until Ihyll Root Dungeons. And it's definetly not worth farming Offshapes until Depth 5. I guess you could put it on a Lost Bowblade to help you through later Chalice's and DLC on a pure BLT build.

yes, if you are leaving SKL at 15 and never using the untricked version you want Lost Chikage because it has a circle slot for BLT gems, which go up to 31.5% but only boost tricked mode. 27.2% Physical gems boost both forms of the weapon but are obviously less powerful. It is possible to get Radial BLT gems, but you have to rely on either offshapes (where a gem drops a shape it normally doesn't) which is about 1/100 based on estimates, or get Merciless Watchers boss to drop a Radial or Triangle BLT gem, which is possible, but probably 1/100,000 at least.

If you're going to farm for offshapes? It's dependent on what drops you get, really. You might end up getting a perfect triangle before you get two usable radials, so then you can just use the default one if you're lazy and don't feel like running to get a lost one.

I'd recommend going for 30 STR if Bloodletter so you can use the gatling gun and cannons. Especially because you don't want to be stuck ONLY using tricked mode with Bloodletter.

If it's Chikage or Bowblade, it's okay to go for something more like 20-25 SKL. I prefer more though, but that's just me.

Been playing Bloodborne for a while now.

If you have defiled Ptumuru open, cooping to kill Hotdog will get you some very good Cursed Radial Fire Gems. Otherwise you can farm the skinny dudes with Fire daggers/Halbards in Lower Pthumuru or Lower Hintertomb for decent radials/triangles. Likewise in Loran waning fire gems drop all over the

Once you reach actual endgame what you want is a Lost weapon (one gem slot of each shape) and either 1-2 Cold Abyysals, a Fire 27% and maybe a Hotdog Abyysal or a red-aura Madman gem depending on your weapons. But you need to have cleared Mensis to even unlock the Chalice's needed to unlock the glyphs for that stuff.

There are multiple Hotdog's in the dungeons (potentially infinite if you keep doing Root dungeons).

Gem quality is determined by Chalice Depth. Hotdog is first found in a depth 1 dungeon, but he also drops a Depth 2 chalice, if you explore this chalice you will get higher rating gems than the first, and then you get a depth 3 chalice etc..

If you can reach Depth 3 (Lower Pthumuru) then that's where gems start getting actually good. There's no Hotdog in the preset depth 3, but there is guys that drop Fire Gems you can farm as much as you want.

If you've killed Amygdala and also gotten enough Ritual Blood (4) you can reach Ailing Loran Chalice which has lots of fire waning gems. After fully exploring Loran and also beating Lower Pthumuru you can make the defiled chalice. Which is a bitch to complete but also has good gems and hotdog on layer 2. This hotdog drops 20+% gems, and if you helped people with him by cooping you could amass a small collection of these gems.

Now here's the problem with being a Souls veteran.

All the Dark Souls games are easy. Not just in comparison to this, but in general. Bosses are large, slow, telegraph their every move, have a huge wind-up and cooldown before/after every attack and have incredibly obvious weaknesses.

BSB is the first boss in Bloodborne that really gives a Souls veteran trouble because he's the opposite of that. He's fast, vicious, doesn't let up, and doesn't telegraph his attacks for very long at all (compared to other bosses) before committing. He's a stark contrast to the Cleric Beast which is more Dark Souls in its design, and can hardly be compared to Gascoigne as he's not a human-like enemy.

You need to re-evaluate how you play the game, what kinds of risks you're taking and how good the reward is for those risks. Don't fight him like he's a Souls boss, fight him like he's a goddamn unpredictable wild animal.

This is something you should take to heart, because there are many bosses ahead of you that will give you even more trouble due to their erratic patterns and BSB is just the beginning.

I pretty much exclusively PvE and work as a summon, so no PvP shittery here. I tend to use the Burial Blade anyway. I was just using Rakuyo to maximize damage there for a mid-ish level character.

3 is just too reliant on nostalgia for my liking, and the PvP isn't very fun, except for brawls in the arena. It lacks the tools to deal with ganks like BB does

It all depends on how much use you'll make from the arrows. 50/25, 25/50 and 40/40 are usually suggested. Each with their own pros and cons. If I was picking from those 3, I'd go 50/25 although the 25 in blt is a bit of a waste.
