There were mixed perceptions about what the competition was about. I banned Tier 1 decks according to the TempoStorm Meta Snapshot and artificially limited the power of other lineups.

Sadly I let things like "Totally Not Midrange" Mech Druid in through the cracks because I thought things were unique enough. Ah well. Live and Learn. Once the new machine gets right and proper and I find some time, expect more /hsg/ tournies.

Here is some arena statistics. The game tends to match people with the same amount of wins and loses. So this is how it looks in arena and how it will look in the heroic brawl. Around 0.64% of all people finish with 12 wins.

Everyone who understands that the next expansion is around the corner and the brawl is nothing but a gold sink in order to get people to waste all their gold and buy expansion packs with money.

Obviously the people entering with money are a great bonus. In fact, it's better for the player to inter with money rather than gold and buy the new packs with gold. Better reward to payment ratio.

So if you don't have enough gold for both, the brawl and the expansion, better buy the brawl with money while leaving the gold for the expansion.
You need, iirc, 3 more wins to get your gold's worth compared to getting your money's worth.

It's not a game with a low skill ceiling either. Those people understand almost all decks pretty well and have a high enough skill to know how to read the situation, make calculated moves on what the opponent might have based on their understanding of their deck and meta and play properly.
