You want the secret up on your turn 2 for valet. So what can you actually play? Not duplicate, not effigy, if you're going first not counterspell, mirror entity may well just pop with their 1/2 drop, ice barrier and ice block are useless for a tempo deck, vaporize is pretty shitty for that kind of deck too, and spellbender is only good against specific other decks. So what secret do you actually play so that you can get valet on turn 2?

I'm not so sure this card is anywhere near as good as you guys think.

It seems like they are pushing specific archetypes super hard like they tried to do with WotOG. If they work out, it's boring. If they don't work out, they seem like wasted cards. It's not nearly as pushed as Cthun obviously but even Beast Druid is so uninspired to build. You're just running a bunch of cards that do the same thing instead of a bunch of different cards with the same goal which is a huge difference.

You have no fucking idea what tempo means.

So basically playing anything is a tempo loss for you since non death rattle minions are easy to remove. Youre playing 2 mid/big sized minions and milking something with 5 HP in one turn. You're effectively getting some 11/12 mana worth of actions in a 7 mana turn, probably even more since firelands is a big tempo swing by itself already.

Watching the game is becoming more important than playing the game.

No one's interested in a one-sided landslide where one player gets wrecked by aggro in five minutes, that's not fun to watch.
No one's interested in a one-sided landslide where one player gets locked down by control for over half an hour, that's not fun to watch.

Instead, the sweet-spot is a memerange-only meta where you can watch players make sweet trades over the course of twenty minutes until one of them loses the top-deck war.

The problem was the charge mechanic. Team 5 seems to pride itself on high interactivity so they're trying to minimize the amount of damage you can deal in one turn that doesn't come from non-charge minions. The only real non-interactive deck left is Freeze Mage.

If Freeze Mage ever accidentally becomes a tier 0 deck, you can bet your ass they're nuking all of mage's classic face-cards to the ground.

Seriously. The best Cho'gall could do was shit like Siphon Soul and Kara-Kazam. Mage, meanwhile, can Pyroblast, Flamestrike, Firelands Portal, Blizzard, Cabalist's Tome, Polymorph, and Arcane Intellect. The custom spell guy also exists, and most control mage decks that weren't straight up freeze (which would probably be the only ones that would consider running this legendary to begin with) were highlander.

Like, you can Alex into this guy + pyroblast + roaring torch. Pay 7 mana for 2 5 drops and 5 damage. This is easily one of the best cards announced this set so far.
