Guardian is all around bad and scather is good for close combat classes only.

Utilitarian is very good for a mage as it allows them to prioritise party buffs like spellscreen and affinities. Scather is very useful depending on your build, you can replace scather with mitigator, this mainly depends on whether you're using your mage for large enemy debuff applications like burning and torpor, or for smaller enemies. Generally it's a good idea to have casters target larger enemies as they take longer to die and is such a lesser chance for spells to be cancelled mid-cast. Guardian is poor for mage as guardian decreases enemy tether range and also the tether range to the pc, as a result of this they will follow you into combat, and if you happen to be a melee vocation they will end up getting in the way and being hit alot unnecessarily. Medicant is poor as it decreases the threshold of damage taken to inititate healing considerably, which cancels otherwise more useful skills to heal minor damage.

Hey /ddg/, just started playing and finished my pawn (pic related).

What are the things to keep in mind when setting skills that people would find desirable for renting?

Also, does she look good? I think her forehead might be too big.

Going through the game normally, you mostly need to stay on the ball about equipment upkeep. Don't let your pawn run around with cruddy weapons, though armor can just be for looks.

Make sure the skills are all efficient ones, kisses and splitter being crowd favorites. (Im assuming she'll stay a strider.) Volley is a decent bow skill, as is the one that shoots a bunch of arrows in sequence.

The core skills, you'd benefit greatly from taking her through the warrior class for a little bit in order to grab ferocity and bastion.

Otherwise, you'll do well and everything will come naturally.

If you're playing melee they're mindlessly easy. You just stay between his legs and pray that he picks up his club. When he finally does you just stick to his right leg. He always goes right leg forward, left forward, left back, and sometimes swats around which makes him rotate. Just be careful when you need to revive your pawns cause that's probably when he'll fuck you up and send you flying to the opposite corner of the room.

I tried to recreate both my arisen and pawn in the MMO.

Arisen was an old, kinda gruff, bearded warrior. It ended up looking as if he was using fake eyelashes and there was just something not right with his eyes.

Pawn ended up a Final Fantasy character.

I feel there was a world of difference between both character creators.

Just started playing the game, and I had it before, I played the demo and pirated it on PC but didn't like how it felt with a mouse/keyboard on my crummy laptop so I forgot about the game until I heard it came for $12 in the humble monthly crap.

I never really played the game after you killed the hydra in the first encampment but I'm a bit past that point now, pretty excited for what's to come next. I'm looking forward to playing a heavily armored two handed warrior, if the game allows me to.
I made the mistake of

And while I was doing a side quest to get some lady some flowers, I got a cut scene with a lady in the pier. I talked to her and ended up going into a dungeon and get jumped by dogs and spiders. I figured that was the DLC and I half expected some OP wolf to come kill me or something, thankfully I managed to get out of there.
However, I made another mistake that cost me my first two pawns.

Who here "always melee"? In every Dark Souls game, I was a melee generally with giant clubs. Never armor, waste of time. I'm trying to do the same thing in DD:DA and it's working alright so far - what's better, hammers or long swords? Any recommendations? To all the "I want to play warrior only" people here, I really want to let you know that you CAN do that, but it's not feasible at some points. By which I mean annoying to the point that you'll WANT to switch.

I tried 'warrior only' because I always pick the small dick'd huge 2Hand weapon character in video games, but it's considerably less 'fun' that the other vocations in DD, in my opinion. I still felt like a badass though, so if that's what you're going for, you'll find it.

I played this game for around 150 hours, tried every class and warrior easily took 80% of my time. Sure, some parts were terrible like metal golems, living armors and phantasms, but they were rare and just having a sorcerer pawn solved them.

Being close to the action while constantly watching your distance and limited amount of tools; having to measure and commit to every blow because you are so slow enemies may just interrupt you and rape your shit; dodging an attack by the smallest margin before unleashing an AoD and sending foes flying to their death, falling over or outright wrecking them.
Obviously underpowered, but that is part of what makes it the most exciting and fun class for me.

You're gonna be weak as shit unless you play sorcerer for a while. That and you absolutely need the sorcerer augment to shorten cast times, and the mage augment for enchants to last longer. And I hope you duplicated the Wyrmking ring.
You can actually play MK just like a fighter with an enchanted shield that damages enemies when you block perfectly, and with a few strength-based sword attacks. It's possible, but that's not taking advantage of the class. To do that you need a healthy magick stat, then you can use fuck-shit-up spells like setting an elemental barrier around you that sends enemies in the air, and placing an elemental cannon in the middle of the barrier that auto-fires whenever enemies touch the barrier. The enchants are crazy too, you can give your whole party an elemental enchant and have a dark enchant ON TOP of your current one that lengthens the reach of your weapon.
It's a lot of fun basically. Great damage at melee range (and magebreaker is GOAT) and a decent mid-range attack with the cannon, if only to knock enemies out of the air. You can absolutely btfo annoying shits like a pack of direwolves with the ruinous sigil + magic cannon combo. Just expect to spend a lot of your time casting enchants and stone forests.

Looking at the state of the base release (consoles), I'm not surprised that some technical stuff is fucked. Back then, when I tried it on the x360/ps3, I finally knew how World War 2 tank drivers must have seen the world. Eventually the Pawn merchant will sell an item that will let you change your character and pawn an unlimited number of times via the Main Menu. It's as if you are making them for the first time again and can edit everything.

If you want to min max certain classes get better stat gains, if you leveld MA and then say wanted to be a Sorcerer you would probably be fairly weak compared to a character who was just Sorcerer while leveling. If you want to play a magic based Vocation barring Mystic Knight, having levels in Sorcerer is a must since they have the highest Magic Attack gain per level.
