The Deep is described as if it's an actual, physical place in a lot of item descriptions. Deep Protection is the most obvious, but I'm pretty sure it also applies to the Cathedral Knight set, Gnaw and both Deep Souls. The Cathedral of the Deep was also built to protect it, which is why I think it's that black pool in the middle of the Cathedral.

Plus, I'm pretty sure the Deep Gem and Dorhys' Gnawing both say that the Deep is a darkness beyond man, not within. The darkness within man is standard Dark/Humanity and the Abyss.

In addition, the "souls that swell from the Deep" which are manifested in Deep sorceries (see: Deep Soul) are literally Dark Soul dregs. The heavy dregs of your Humanity, which settle to the bottom and lie there stagnantly until called upon.

Obscuring ring is good for staying out of sight and ambushes, invade in an area that has some good ambushing spots/mobs. Undead hunter charms are a must, try to throw them on the host while he's fighting mobs. Irina is loaded up with Darkness famalam, like ALL Firekeepers are (even failed ones). She's being slowly eaten alive by swarms of tiny creatures that lurk in the Darkness within her. JUST SO HAPPENS that we have a spell that summons these exact creatures (Gnaw).

Hence, Irina is suffering from being slowly consumed by Dark monstrosities that come from the Deep. Therefore, she has the Deep within her.

Just like the player has Deep within them, as they summon Soul Dregs from the Deep within them to cast Deep sorceries.

The Deep is just the dregs of the Dark Soul. Unlike wild Humanity, the Deep is stagnant, perfectly still, and serene. Organizations like the CotD were made to bottle up the Abyss, so that the Deep might stay that way and remain untained by the chaos of wild Humanity. Lest the horrors of mutated Humanity invade that stillness.

The Deep is literally described as a location dude. You cannot get around this. Stuff from the Deep is no doubt related to Dark and/or the Abyss, but the Deep is not just 'dark before it went wild.'

We also don't know what the fuck is up with Irina. We don't know that the things biting at her are the Deep insects. She could just be insane and/or suffering from some weird hallucinatory, sensory shit due to being blind. As a potential fire keeper, she could be being gnawed away at by humanity, as >>160104039 points out. Or, maybe the things that bite at her are Deep insects, but remember that we find her and Eygon in the Undead Settlement, which is taken over by Evangelists of the Deep who summon those insects and are known to do fucked up stuff to people. When you cast Abyssal sorceries like Affinity, you aren't teleporting fragments of the Abyss from Londor/New Londo/etc. to your position. You're just letting the humanity within you go nuts.

Keep in mind that these two ideas aren't necessarily self-contradictory. It's 100% possible that the clergy of the CotD extracted a shitload of Soul Dregs from their worshipers and dumped them into a huge ass pool in their cathedral. That would certainly make a physical "the Deep" location. It also doesn't mean that the Deep is any less of an entity held within each Dark Soul shard.

I can't say what all they check for but here's what I do

>drop souls items if I need souls, dont edit them directly
>If I need to change stats don't edit them directly, just undo last rosaria rebirth if needed then use her
>Drop and spells/weapons I want unless they are covenant rewards, then I just teleport to closest bonfire and swap items needed for reward

I haven't had a problem doing that, Just dont edit your stats, or give yourself covenant rewards, or give yourself more slabs than possible. Also If you accidentally add an invalid item you need to just delete your save because as far as I know theres no easy way to get rid of it.

That pyro is pretty bad. Having fought a lot of ultra users, you literally just dodge around until they have swung two or three times depending on sl, then punish their roll attempt which they are locked into doing or getting fucked regardless. I kept getting matched with a bkgs user and eventually he started off-handing dark drift and trying to catch with 1hr1s and offhand r2s. Which meant he got parried because he was one handing a bkgs.

A lot of rings have hidden PvP nerfs. Clutch rings, steel protection, shit like that. It's one of the main reasons why Life Ring, Chloranthy Ring, Ring of Favor, and Sun Princess is the go-to set for most people.

What SL should I be for watchdog summons?

Should I feel bad for playing estoc + havel's greatshield?
