I've been thinking she was series 3 the entire time, and I did have a complete series 2 set, so I must've traded her for something else ages ago.

When I'm aiming for a specific villager type, I make sure they're outside. If they're not, I open my gates and see if they are then. If they're still not out, just close and re-open the gates. After that, I do the diving trick. After some time has passed, I use the megaphone to find that specific villager and make a beeline for them so they can ping me. Rinse and repeat until you get a PWP suggestion.

I think I win the award for the most unlucky anon when it comes to buying amiibo cards.
I bought 6 packs (2 each of series 1, 2, ad 3) yesterday and got mostly crap and only one villager I really wanted. I decided today to buy 4 more packs (2 each of series 2 and 3).
Of the 4 series 3 packs I got, 3 of them had the same shitty rhino, and two of them had the same shitty gorilla.
There's about a 1 in 16 chance of getting any given villager's card, a 1 in 275 chance of getting dupes of any villager, and a 1 in 4574 chance of getting 3.

I had about a 1 in 8 chance (10 villagers) of getting a villager from series 3 that I wanted and a 1 in 12 chance (7 villagers) of getting one from series 2.
I didn't get any of my dream villagers and only 2 of my lesser wanted ones.

I made a new town, went through and placed tiles to guide where villagers move in when I use the respective amiibo cards. Problem is, whoever I move in keeps going to the spot i DON'T want, because they move in the same time someone moves out, and they take the spot before I'm able to put a tile under it. Any way to prevent this?

You know, after playing Animal Crossing for a steady period of time again, HHD is looking pretty good. Not good enough to replace New Leaf, of course, but it's got a lot of really nice stuff. The scarcity of HHD items is killing me, I wish they put some of it in the regular shops as well.

A bit unrelated, but if you ever bought the original pokemon card packs I'd recommend getting a few of the new set that has all the old cards. I got my friend a starter deck with the shiny fatchu for her birthday, and the fucking cards smell like they did almost 20 years ago. It's amazing.

They're all losing value on eBay I think. More people are going out and buying discounted packs and then undercutting sellers to get quick sales.
