Lethality is equal to 40% of old armour pen + the other 60% distributed linearly against the enemy per level.

So if you have 10 lethality, it's equivalent to 4 flat armour pen against a level 1 enemy champion, 7 flat armour pen against a level 9 enemy champion, and 10 flat armour pen against a level 18 enemy champion.

The 5 second cooldown between marks basically guarantees that you can only get it off once or twice if you do a full combo, but waiting 5 whole seconds in a teamfight to save your spells is agonizing.

compare to warlord's bloodlust which is only twice the lifesteal of a vampiric scepter (and none of the AD) and that's only when your health is so low that you should not be engaging in a fight or you're going to be burst down before the lifesteal does anything.

If you want more lifesteal you should get as much as you can from runes, vampirism mastery, and items before you even consider dropping fervor for bloodlust.

maxing his Q is vital in the top meta of bursty as shit combo champions. While his E might do fuckloads of damage, that fuckloads is reduced drastically if you hit a minion the same time you hit a champion. Furthermore, its several seconds of you only spinning while champions such as Darius has already stacked his full bleed on you.

Garen cannot sustain a fight early on in the lane. He needs to get in, auto, Q, and escape through the minion wave with his E. Otherwise Darius, Irelia, Renekton, and Tryndamere, garens worst early game matchups, will slap the fuck out of you for thinking your spin does more damage than the immediate reward of their skills/right clicks

rush either a chain vest and ninja tabi or merc treds, finish black cleaver after those then build sunfire and melee lanes are free

Top Smite Shyvana is back boys. Smite TP, start either machete + rejuv or Ruby + 1 pot, take raptors, recall and buy either pots or a rejuv, and then tele to lane. Raptors spawn at 1:35 and give either 90% of level 2 with a ruby start, or level 2.25 with a machete start. Either way, you will end up in lane at around 2:10, after the first melees die but before the first ranged dies, giving you an instant exp lead.

Your smite gives you great sustain because every charge can be used on any monster to gain 100+10% max hp. This means you're pretty much impossible to shove out of lane with your rejuvenation bead and smite providing disgusting health regen, and you can actually profit on health by invading for enemy camps.
