SdKfz 140/1 worth getting?

Why even fucking play anything over than CYKABLYAT? On tanks particularly so.

The Hurricane Mk IIB is such a nice plane.

Stable, easy to fly, engine doesn't overheat easily, good anti-ground armament, good anti-air armament with good ammunition, good turn rate.

Overall very comfortable experience flying it in RB. (3 easy kills.+ RTB with lots of damage and 3 more planes chasing me)

Does anyone have any information regarding the vickers class p gun and it's ammo that is attached to the tempest mk v? Everything I've read says that it was designed to succeed the class s, which was unable to penetrate tiger armour, however the ony range that the gun can penetrate the sides is from ten metres.

I tried to make a suggestion on the forums to increase the penetration but it was never ok'd.

The engine is going to be the heaviest bit which is why the wings are all the way at the back, but with the weight of what I assume is a fuel tank at the front + it's rather heavy look cannon armament I think it would balance out. Landing gear is an absolute lost cause though, that thing is going to tail strike for days.

Design choices point to it likely being some form of ground attack or support aircraft than an air superiority one, with things like survivability, maintenance and visibility being chosen over aerodynamics and speed. A lot of the points you made could be applied to the A-10, too.

Engines contribute a significant amount of mass to an aircraft but so does things like armament, armour and avionics. Also it's highly likely that it's trainer version is merely a normal version modified for an extra cockpit and set of controls. Easier to leave the guns in then take them out at that point, plus it enables it to be put into active service on short notice.

Also the guns and ammo likely weigh a fucking lot and would fuck with the CoG requiring extra weights anyways.

The A-10s engines weigh about as much as a C-130s turboprop does, anon. Adding to that fact, this aircraft has one engine rather than two. So it could have a turboprop engine as heavy and inefficient as the Wyverns WW2 era one and it would still weigh as much as the A-10s engines. In fact it could have the 14,000 horsepower D-27 turboprop and still only weigh 100kg more than the A-10s engines.

Do you know anon, most modern fighter aircraft would not be able to fly without computer assistance? They're so unstable that without a computer they'd be completely uncontrollable and fall out of the sky, quite literally. So even if this plane did lack in wing area - which I don't think it does in the slightest, considering the combined surface area of the canards and main wing - then it would still be quite able to fly stable by dumping in thrust instead.

But yes, anon, I'm the one that has no idea what I'm talking about : ^)

Even the X-31 was only lost after the entire team and the pilot refused to deal with the obviously wrong info coming from a frozen pitot. For several minutes the computer was receiving bad information and yet the plane continued to fly normally.

Still, getting 10 kills in arcade isn't hard either, you just put P-63s. Hispano Mustang and D-5 in one lineup. Either of them should earn you 5 kills
For Germany any 3-7 - 5.3 lineup mixing Bf 109 and Fw 190 is deadly combination.
Don't go above it, as above 5.0 batles usually end very fast, because of bomberspam, so it's hard to hoard kills
General issue with doing it in arcade is that if you play tanks, you probably have only 1 or 2 experienced plane crews.

On Poland the eastern spawn allows speedy tanks to immediately gain a covered flank on the western team. IIRC with basic health crewman can take one MG round and live, but second will kill him. With maxed out health AND ace qualification crewman can survive one HMG round, which is worth, damage wise, to about 3 MG bullets.
So I suppose it makes world of difference in well armored bomber, like B-25, where penetration is exception rather than rule, but I doubt it will do much if any hit pens, like with Brit bombers.
