Wouldn't this strat work against any raid boss with negligible aoe damage or no peculiar mechanics? Enrage is no issue since you can summon at no cost and no CD another meatshield, it's just a huge test of patience.

not because it's shit, it's very strong right now. i'm just at a point with my stats that encounters are basically me pressing stormstrike for 5 minutes straight struggling to keep on top of stormbringer procs. my maelstrom is full half the fight despite mashing stormstrike.

my stats have ruined the enjoyment of the spec.

i only press other buttons because they give me amazing buffs. to put it in perspective, i have 4 traits (my third gold included) on doomhammer than are worth less than 3% flametongue/boulderfist damage because i rarely have a reason to press lava lash

This seems reasonable. I've been leveling my alt on alliance, and it's a really toxic enviorment in dungeons/raids. Constant finger-pointing, pulling extra mobs for luls, kicking without real reasons etc. While horde is more chill and pretty mature about almost everything. They don't mind mistakes that much, while alliance might kick you as soon as you make one. Horde attract more mature players and alliance caters more the the mentally undeveloped.

Okay, maybe you guys can help me out. So my first dip into wow was on a vanilla private server at the beginning of the summer and I fucking loved it. Now i'm playing on a wotlk private server and it's a blast as well, however I'm looking at Legion and it legit looks like tons of fun and after seeing all the plans moving forward for it and the content yet to come I'm really thinking about buying it and jumping in on actual Retail.

So, maybe you guys could give me some tips. First, my class: on the V. Private Server I main'd a mage and it was so much more fun than I thought it would be, but on Wotlk I went for Dk at first then made a shaman and fucking loved it. I am an Ele shaman and it's just so fucking sick to play for some reason. I love the totem mechanics, I love how busted Lava Burst is and just all around have tons of fun with the class. Buying Legion would let me instaboost to 100 on a character and I wanted to ask if I should play Shaman in Legion as well? Would you recommend it?

Second, the realm: unlike private servers with 1-2 realms to choose from and usually they just differ in instalevel or pvp/pve with retail you have a fuckton to choose from. Which realms should I look at? Pvp realms are fun of course so i dont care about that too much but population-wise is going for a high pop realm a bad move or are med pops still good? I know the High/Med/Low can be really vague in actual players playing them but maybe you could steer me in the right direction.

I dont know what to recommend really, compared to wotlk every class is barebones. Im not trying to talk you out of it or anything, and I still play this game but CLASSES in wotlk were just more fun.


The pruning has been going on for a long time, the jump between wotlk and Legion might be too big for you.

Are there any melee specs that feel smooth and don't rely on just juggling buffs like enhancement shamans or play like stop-go-stop-go like unholy DK? My problem is, though I enjoy DPS per seconding, I'm not a huge fan of poorly place downtime. I don't mind downtime, as long as it makes sense, e.g. before I start a new cycle of spells, skills, etc.

Paladin, all three specs are good. Though, admittedly, protection is pretty boring. It's nice to have though for helping friends!
Monks, all three specs are viable though BrM is pretty labor-intensive compared to the other tanks. Great PvP choice!
Shaman, enhancement isn't fun, it's literally buff juggling and watching 3-4 aura bars. Restoration is great!
