It literally drops to a slideshow if I try to mouse over items in my inventory, even at minimal video settings.

BDO is pay to cut a few days of work. What you can buy with $30 is something like 20-25mil. That's about a couple days work of grinding, maybe a few hours in professions, and can only about upgrade one piece of gear to a barely passable level.

If a person wants to win by paying in BDO, you'd have to pay a shit ton of money. And even then, you cannot skip the process of leveling your gear which is heavily dependent on rng. You can't pay to bypass rng.

So is it hella p2w? Not even close. You can't buy stats directly. You can't buy better gear directly. You can't buy levels. You can't buy professions/workers. And someone who is just one higher level than you will already have a huge advantage. Someone's who has leveled their professions, set up a worker empire, will make more money than you can ever pay for at a very consistent basis. It's basically pay to grind a little less, pay to have some change in your in game pocket, but it's not in any way directly pay to win at all.

It's buy to save massive amounts of time and effort

First you buy a 30$ outfit to save time because more XP and the game is grindy as fuck. Next you buy a horse and pay to reroll all the stats cause fuck manually doing horse shit. You keep buying gem-pullers cause you don't want to break your red battle crystals. You buy elions tears because you fuck up and are lazy, etc.

You pay for the subscription shit they now have (which never used to exist) even though Daum promised to never make a subscription, because being at a time efficiency disadvantage is bad and you need dat premium status.

It goes on and on, and everything is expensive and everything in BDO takes a long time so you feel compelled to cut as much time off from everything as possible by spending money.

Everyone I know that was ever "hardcore" in BDO spent stupid amounts of money, because you paid to save time, and time is power, more time more grind.

If you have two hardcore players that play all day every day but one has no regard for the money he spends and the other spends no money the one that pays will be higher level and have better gear. The hardcore players knew this and they were all massive wallet warriors. Every little advantage they can possibly get in time saved and efficiency they would pay for.

Can you max it to get that 1.05 multiplier? No. Investing in Int/Spirit is better at this point.
