Ret paladin. Been playing one since LK. They've never been horrible like most other classes. They may get nerfed here and there but they never drip below middle of the pack. Their armor is always top notch and being able to do all three roles effectively is great for Call to arms bags which drop 800+ gold and runes. Also I think it's all but confirmed that paladins are the main class of WoW. Some other classes get their moment of fame here or there (DKs, monks, DH) but paladins have consistently been the focal point of the game

Let me explain how guilds die due to one person.

Someone is a big issue to a raid. This may be because they are shit at the game, they may be toxic and make people hate raiding, they may ruin raiding in some other way.

Usually, when this happens the person is kicked and the guild goes on. However when its a girl ruining the raid, they dont get kicked, because the desperate nerds in charge are craving attention.

The same thing can happen when the person causing the issues is a god at the game and cant be kicked because he carries, or is an officer/irreplaceable role and can't be kicked. But no one is gonna say "good players ruin guilds."
