Bloodtinge builds are nice, Bloodletter is an excellent weapon and Bowblade offers a pretty unique playstyle.
Doing a ton of damage with guns is also fun.
If you don't feel like farming for autism gems you can get normal physical gems, they increase blood damage anyway.

They probably do on a technical level, but since you can only lose 1 point per swing the end result is that 1, 2, or 3 gems are all the same.

They're fine for PvE so long as you remember to repair your weapon every third or fourth time you're in the dream.

Yes, versus those types. If you want, you can stack all Kin DOWN on one weapon and all Beast DOWN on another then switch when appropriate. These weapons will also have no negative effect in PvP.

In Dark Souls, I memorized Artorias' moveset and could reliably dodge every attack he had. I took him down in NG+6 with a shitty katana dealing 100 damage per swing. Each movement he makes indicates his next attack and you have to act accordingly.

In Bloodborne, you wait until they start moving their arms then just sort of dodge toward them but slightly to the side and you never get hit. There are very few exceptions to this.

Nah, you're grossly over-simplifying it, and Artorias was much the same as any BB boss; 6 o' clock for some moves, 9 o' clock for the rest.

Beyond that, knowing where to dodge in BB and actually doing it are two different things. I know damn well that you can trivialize Lud's first phase by dodging to 9 o' clock. Still eat shit all the time and have to know the right way to wake up.

You can get there straight after Amelia, so you probably have people ranging from level 40ish all the way to people who are doing endgame PVP there.

It's actually a great zone for random invasions, so many routes through the level, and bullshit to use against the host like poison lakes, cliffs, rock throwers, patchs and Wintern lanterns.

I wish there were more automatic invasion areas. For example, Cainhurst could have invasions that you could choose to participate in or not. Equipping the Vileblood oath could allow you to invade in that area. If people got butthurt, they could limit invasions to those with an Executioner oath equipped (obviously they'd have to give the oaths sooner and specify this in game). The same thing could be done with HoH oath invading the forest or a church oath invading UCW.

Well I was thinking Vilebloods could invade any other oath in sort of defending their homes, but people would also probably get buttblasted since BB was more PvE focused. But if they were concerned about that, they could make it so that you had to wear Vileblood or Executioner oaths to participate. In that case, it would make more sense for Executioners to be the invaders.

HoH could invade players who 'were out too long' and got blood addled. If you don't return to the dream regularly, and kill beasts, your chance of being invaded increases.

Charge attack's ok, open foes of +15 physical is what you really want. It's a good gem for stake driver though.

First thing: You don't want atk vs beasts down when killing bloodletting beast. Pizza cutter or any serrated weapon would be better than the HMLS.
You'd be better off farming 27.2% physical gems for your pizza cutter first, since they're easier than farming heavy abyssals.

Well, she's not a beast-blood hunter, so, she can't do the visceral attack that the player does.

Bones and flesh got to regrow in order to fix that. The Cleric Beast template has this imbedded, Anon. You will lose a toe or two as Pappy Gascan only has three toes in his partial transformation.

Notice how most people we meet are slightly taller than us? Firstly, it's a game design technique to make certain enemies and bosses more intimidating and visually clear, but secondly, it also shows us the mutation effects of the blood everyone's hooked on. It appears to be partly gradual, like your eyes going to mush, limbs elongating, growing physically larger, and then all of a sudden, you pop into some form of beast. Notice how a regular guy like Gilbert just becomes a beast patient (like the ones all over Old Yharnam), but Gascoigne, a church hunter, and an already huge guy, becomes massive unique beast.

I think too it depends on what blood you're taking. It's mentioned several times different types of blood exist, and I think the clergy of the Healing Church are on some more potent shit than the regular Yharnamites, that's why they so suddenly explode into Cleric Beasts and such. Not only are they probably on a special supply, but for the sake of their duties and appearances, they force their beasthood down until they can't take it anymore and become monsters.

The actual progression of symptoms isn't very clear, the eye thing is the one very clear symptom that someone's turning, but everything else isn't. Where does it all come from? Probably all that blood and vermin inside you. It is totally alien in origin, after all, it doesn't make perfect sense.

Is the River of Blood in the Hunter's Nightmare supposed to be all the people that they killed from the Hamlet? Since we've already seen that stuff from up there can fall straight down through the 'veil' or what have you. I never understood where that fit into the whole DLC.

Well I'm afraid the best answer I have is 'it's alien blood in a cosmic horror setting, your frail human mind cannot comprehend it' because is straight up isn't physically possible. All I have left is totally assumption, so let's go with that.

The blood is healing, right? Miraculously heals all of our wounds and afflictions basically instantly. We get mauled and ripped apart by beasts, jam some blood vials into our legs, we're just fine. I think the blood's regenerative qualities is a hyper accelerated bone and tissue regrowth, but it isn't in any way regulated, so you're probably getting more just general biomass the more you use the stuff to heal a wound or cure a cold. I think you are so literally filled with this regenerative blood seeped into your very being, probably crawling with vermin growing inside you, too, that there's a point where the beasthood takes effect (which I myself believe to be caused by the vermin) and you pop, all that extra soaked up regenerative blood and biomass exploding into a beast.

Blood is a mutagen, the rats and dogs and crows and pigs are all fed with the stuff, making them monstrous, too. HOW this mutation occurs, why it manifests as physical enlargment, we just don't know, but that's my best guess. Unregulated regeneration going into hypermode.

My first playthrough, I don't want to be guided or spoiled but can you guys tell me a single thing? I have beaten Vicar Amelia and opened two paths, the Henwick Charnel Lane and the Forbidden Woods. I proceeded through the latter and a man gave me a stone, went near the Cathedral and was teleported into an university (byrgenwerth?) and after that I got into another strange area. I'm really confused and I just want to know in which order to do the areas. I usually prefer to explore bonus areas before doing the main quest, but I really don't want to lose anything

Most NPC hoontas give Blood Dregs as well, even in co-op.

Some good places to get them:
>Tonitrus-chan and Spear-kun to the left of the Grand Cathedral (from the Grand Cathedral lamp)
>Madaras invasion in the forest
>The two hoontas in the Nightmare Frontier
>The three hoontas at the Hypogean Gaol lamp after it becomes Yargul
>Henrick and Bloody Crow of Cainhurst

Some of those you can get summoned for because I know you've progressed far enough in the game to kill Amelia already and have probably killed most of those NPC hoontas.

Help people who are just starting out in Yargul and get three blood dregs from the NPC hoontas there.

All the oath runes are pretty mediocre, but I find that 10% stamina regen helps out a lot more than 2% health especially if you drain your stamina a lot. It's exactly enough to allow a fully charged stake driver R2 to lead into a backstab before the stagger animation ends on some enemies.
