As for headcanon, that can be used to explain away her sexual undertones as well. It is just headcanon that she really is lewd. For all we know all the sexual innuendos should actually be taken for what she is actually saying. So when she is saying that she wants to be stabbed by Ragna, she is actually talking about being stabbed by his sword.
In CF it could even be said to have been confirmed when she suddenly got enraged after Ragna said he was going to save her. Maybe it really was just headcanon, but what I got from that was that Nu and her whole yandere persona was just mostly a masquerade. She was too scared to actually act normally around anyone.

Complete noob to fighting games here, I decided to get CF since I liked the design of some characters, so I bought CPEX on Steam during the sale and I'm doing the Challenge mode now.
But I've got a very dumb problem now, how the hell to I start combos from jump ins without mashing? I mean, what's the timing to do a crouching B input after landing a jump-in C for example? I never seem to get it right unless I mash but I heard mashing is a very bad habit for these games, I don't have much trouble with mashing on standing combos but jump-ins are fucking me over, could anyone lend me a hand?

IADing is important, but its not a replacement for regular jump ins. Unlike regular jumps, you can't block during IADs so you're a lot more vulnerable.

Regarding regular jump ins, the timing can vary depending on things like how far down do you hit the opponent and how many hits of the move connect if its a multihit move(think Noel's j.C), the best thing to do is just grind it out.

I wouldn't say for hours, once you have a feel for the timing it should come pretty naturally. Rule of thumb: if the grounded move doesn't come out you did it too early, if it comes out but it doesn't combo then you did it too late.

For IADs, you actually do 96 while on the ground. You're basically exploiting that 9 counts as both an up input and a forwards input, so as you're jumping you already have one of the airdash inputs in the buffer and just need to enter the second 6 to get the IAD.

That's because your hands don't have the dexterity and muscle memory yet to do these things, I'm assuming for most games you use almost nothing but the stick so of course it's gonna be easier for you. I really wouldn't recommend using two fingers for your pad, you'll end up with a pretty awkward grip. Just do some movement practice regularly (X forward dashes on each side, X backdashes on each side, X superjumps on each side, X IADs on each side, etc...) and you'll get used to it soon enough.

Reminder to make and upload blockstrings so your fellow anons can practice better!
Make your replay slots, 4 routes, one for each slot. To save your replay data, go to the Training tab (6th tab) and select the second to last option. Select a slot to save. It will open a Menu, first option is title, second is Yes, third is No. Make a name then hit the second.
save with a filename that says the character (use RG for Ragna for example), and blockstring starter. Use KND if it's a oki on wakeup thing where you have to get hit by the first attack then try to block/escape. Make sure to set it to random before you save!
Then go to Forum, that's the second to last option on the Network Menu. Open it, hit square, you should be brought to a menu. Go to the third option and pick the fourth on the list (Asia). That's the filter we'll look for when looking for uploads.
Press the second to last option in menu after to apply filter.
Hit R2 to go to the training tab. Press Triangle to create, select the second option in that menu. Title is first field (include /blaz/ in it so we can find it, though Asia's pretty dead so it should be easy), comments in second (list things like won't work if barrier/what gaps there are in certain slots and stuff if you want), last field is the data, select that and upload your recording. Press triangle again and select the top option to submit.

For anons who want to download the data, open Forum and filter for Asia like before. Hit R2 to view the training tab. Hit X to open the data and x to save.

There is a limit of one upload per user, so all blockstrings are welcome even if others play your character better!

Let's say you're trying to do it off a button. If you were holding down while pressing said button then pressed up after the button connected it wouldn't come out. In the case of Es it'd be 2C right? I play her as well and believe its the most important button because she can jump cancel even on block from that.

Try pressing the down motion at the same time as C then doing up. It doesn't really matter if other motions come out until up, just make sure you press up quickly, a half-circle motion until up might help, just make sure you don't press B too quickly during it because an air fireball might come out along with the jump.

I learned super jumping to play as her. Waifu power is a scary thing. Not that I'm proficient enough to immediately super jump after a successful 2C anti-air so I just normal jump D, worst case they recover and block it but its D and hits meaty, they have to hold that pressure afterwards, best case is the 2C was a counterhit and it juggles with D setting up more juggle combos.

Don't know if its like it is with me but the way I see it, online in this game is a terrible way to build on reactions and at times even combo consistency. I played a bit on jap version and anyone that wasn't in country had almost a second of input latency at best and almost 2 seconds at worst. You can't react to anything when its like that and probably can't do optimal combos/setups if they require tight execution.

If you're US you might find people closer to you and try to build up experience from there. I'm EU and online is hell but at least I have the offline option most other don't have.

Bullet does do some stagger pressure with 2A and can still do some IAD wakeup/late j.B/C into 360 stuff. The good Bullets use it whenever they're getting respected, though that's just Upa and Tekoro.

She is a pretty different character altogether but there's a bunch of buffs along with the nerfs. Like no SMP meaning double snaphance combos, snaphance has enough untech time that it leads directly into Aggressor without any heat required, j.C being jump cancellable, Miquelet being projectile invuln sooner (frame 1? it's early), 6B launching on normal hit, heat not being lost on drive attempts (only the 6 and 4 Ds are + apparently now though so there's another tradeoff), Afterburner being fucking fast, Flint Shooter's projectile travelling fullscreen at 0 and taking hits equal to heat level.
Dunno if this makes her mid tier or still low tier like last game though, since it's all relative. Everyone else's buffs seemed to help them stay up there and Bullet struggles like she did before.

Her strengths now lie mostly in her pressure game, and her mobility seems to be downplayed as much as possible. She used to have a godlike neutral game, and now more than half the cast does it better than her.

On one hand he has something close to Ragna's 5B.
On the other hand, his mixup isn't comboable without meter until you unlock his specials.
His damage is high and his range is huge, but he has a big hurtbox and it's on everything he does.
He has a lot of options with his specials, but is definitely gimp without and has no true safe unlock methods save for 4D on etech outside of combos. But then again, he can just OD midcombo to unlock shit + deal big damage using its special effect of using locked specials, or just use the unlock all DD.

Although her neutral got a bit better with her replaced j.B and j.C, and her corner carry and standing combo game got even better in CF. Her mixup game is still pretty bad, her neutral game is mediocre despite having amazing mobility, and her pressure is the only thing stopping her from being bottom tier.

That implies charged dives are safe. Are you sure about this? Not like anyone's punished them so far for me but I feel they can be punished easily.

Also you can hold the 5C button on the million thrusts combo until it does the maximum number of cancellable hits, stops right before the moment where you can't command dash cancel them. Its also a pretty standard way of gauging distance for a 236A cancel that will guard crush, useful.

Charged dives are PLUS not just safe. As long as you hit them on grounded target and not right into the head of opponent. On jumping targets second hit doesn't work so it leaves you in huge disadvantage.
