I think 4-cost would make it an auto-include in every deck, probably still the case at 5, then it slowly becomes situational and iffy from 6 and on. So I'd say 6 cost would be fair.

Depends on what you want to play. There aren't really any super good neutral leggos. Odin, Lucifer, and Gabriel are okay but they're typically a 1 of if they're in a deck.

Finish story for Playful Necromancer, she's actually great.

Upside doesn't make up for Gravewaker's stats at that speed. Run any other 5 drop. Pluto sucks, Soul Grinder is decent but comes in too late, Necropolis Queen doesn't fit your deck. Just play with close to the ground damage, gives you the best chance against decks that go high and Shadow already beats every deck that goes low.

Anyone have a good Control Sword decklist to work up towards? I've got a bunch of random cards for the deck, but not enough of the legendaries to really make a full one. That being said I would like to see what I'm shooting for, and any tech choices for the legendaries would be appreciated.

I have two Leonidas, one Alexander, three Sabers, and one Tsubaki. I've just gotten those from packs. I don't want to craft toward this deck at least for now, but it is one of the decks I want to pilot the most since it seems fun.

Shadow doesn't actually need much to compete, it's got a decent time against most archetypes and all the ones it plays poorly against have a commonality in being defensive decks with tempo reset options. Except for Tempo Elf which is overpowering the whole meta anyways.

A pushed aggressive 3-4 drop would help their bad match ups significantly without much impact on their good ones.

This game has some animation cancer from HS. I was playing in arena and enemy had 'on evolve summon some shit' effect. I evolved my minion and ordered my other minion to attack. But that evolve summoned another minion for enemy shifting all the targets right as I was clicking. As a result I attacked wrong minion and lost.

Also even HS doesn't match you with experienced players in arena for first few runs. My first ever game was with some faggot having that rainbow gem/crown which I assume is one of the highest ranks.

Yeah I've been about 40-60 in their favor. It's not too bad though. What I am noticing is that (due to the influx of new players no doubt) is that there is a lot of net decking going on without them knowing how the deck should actually be played.

It's allowed me to change a few cards around to adapt to situations better. Im almost in A rank now so I am sure I am about to see more Forest fun but I haven't had too much of an issue with Haven.

Haven's the gatekeeper deck that separates good players from bad ones because it's the first deck most people run into that demands answers.

Up to B rank, you can win most games playing linear because few people have complete decks. Haven's cheap to build and easy to pilot so it's all over B rank.

Do you guys think it would be cool if Animated cards had small bonuses over their normal counter parts? Nothing major or game breaking just minor things like one animated card might have 1 more defense than the normal one or another might get ward or be 1 less mana to cast etc.

It would make the animated card hunter WAY more rewarding and I'm sure it'd make Cygames a decent amount of money. To preserve tournament balance there could be an option in Private Games to force normal stats on animated cards.

If it would be usable when opponent has no evo points, it will make people more careful about spending them, and force it to be a late-game card. In that case it has pretty big drawbacks and therefore could have a low cost, like 2.
Orr, it could be a 3, so you could play it on turn 3, or 4 when first.

The other situation, only when enemy has evo points, this makes it an early game card. Let's say, 5pp.
Problem with that would be both ruining your tempo, and being a dead card after a while. So yeah, better stick with the former.

Tempo: Does this just mean a deck that has a nice pace, or a fast tempo? If the latter doesn't that fall somewhat under aggro?

Control: I can only presume this means finding a way to make your opponent play or not play certain cards?

Storm Haven runs slower than every aggro deck on the list by a significant margin. It's defined by every threat in the deck being resilient, with your spell selection being based around protecting your threats via removal. You don't play it like an aggro deck, you don't play it like a midrange deck, you don't play it like a combo deck, and you don't play it like a control deck.

You're trading card for card and giving up advantage to win the game before your resources run thin. Every top list is built this way.

Barring the nebulous difference, tempo is focused around board control and value whereas aggro generally doesn't care about board and pushes for reach.

Storm Haven doesn't care about board as much as pushing for lethal, which is why you can watch any Master/Tournament player run the deck and see frequent evos on birds and falcons. Calling it 'tempo' is disingenuous at best and outright being a lying shitter at worst.

Have you ever looked at any tempo decklist in Magic, or hell, a fucking Storm Haven decklist? The gameplan for Storm Haven runs the same way as Jeskai or Delver.

You put out efficient threats, you protect them. Your amulets are your value cards that sit on the field with turns of impunity before they deal damage, your 2 drops followers exist specifically to hold the board state. Priest is a dedicated defensive card, and your advantage cards are dedicated primarily to reloading.

Of course you fucking evolve your birds, because tempo has to end games before they dry out. You aren't playing fucking midrange trying to grind out the board.
