BB is as hard as GG, Melty is the easier of the 3 btw (easy BnBs).
BB is harder due to the match ups because they are more gimmicky in the way they work out and there are more characters. Execution is harder too but I don't want to bring this into the debate on each games difficulty because you will need to grind in both games anyway.
GG is harder due to the game's system and fundamentals being harder to learn.
I find it takes longer for me to learn a match up in GG compared to BB. Sometimes I learn a match up for a character I have never faced in a couple of days but with GG it takes me much longer because there are more little intricacies.

Both games are as oppressive as each other, its just that in GG the okizeme is stronger and in BB the pressure is stronger.
In GG its easier to open them up on wake up but then pressure that comes after isnt that oppressive unless its something like Zato. In BB okizeme isnt usually that strong but pressure that comes after the knocked down opponents wake up can last much longer and therefore there are more opportunities for the opponent to open you up. BB also has many more characters with standing overheads they can just insert into their blockstrings that lead into combos meterless or require 50% meter to RC.

I just played my first fightin' game since Mortal Kombat Deception, some 12 years ago.

I played GG Xrd Sign (and also picked up all 3 blaz's in the sale). Predictably, I'm complete trash. I played the arcade as Sol and didn't lose a single round until Ramlethal - I lost 5 full matches in a row, usually without winning a single round, before I finally managed to beat her.

How do I get good at these games? I have no idea how to use Tension besides the mushu-wushu cuhrazy form. I tried going through the tutorial and feel like I forgot everything the second I started a match.

I recommend you don't focus on learning (long) combos early on as they are just muscle memory and repeating which can tire you out early on, so focus on fundamentals and mechanics.

Who are some actually good FG related content creators? I like A-Core Gaming and sometimes Bafael.

I like humorous content but not in a meme-y or cheap way like Maximilian or Excellent Adventures (and the latter hasn't been really fun since SFV came out).

Well, the Sonic loop combo isn't really hard once you know the exact order of the Sonic Booms strenghts you have to perform and when to dash in to extend it.

I still think NuckleDu has an overall better Guile. There is something about ISDD Guile that screams typical online unga bunga play.
