Even if the intention was for it to have a 99% damage reduction, they'd have to have a base 100 atk at least to deal any damage whatsoever, and even then they'd do 1 damage. And, assuming we're using his Hard Mode stats, they'd have to have them attack 80 times.

Since he has 35 defense, they'd have to do 135 base damage in order to even scratch him. Since Bows multiply the Atk power by three, they'd have to have a base might of 45.

The strength cap for snipers in Fates is 31. So a bow of at least 14 might would be needed in order to scratch him. I haven't really played Fates so I'm not sure how many bows have this type of might.

Ashnard's Gurgurant has 1-2 range so it would also probably be able to retaliate against most bows, especially those that have more than 14 might (if any), and he'll for sure be able to do more than 1 damage.

And this is without factoring in Pair-Up bonuses or Ashnard's Renewal skill.

So to answer your question. Ashnard would...probably win?

Yeah, no. Strongest yumi in FE14 is a very high 22 MT, but that's still a ridiculously far distance off.

But yeah 140 turns of attacking him at absolute minimum (60 to kill phase 1, 80 to kill phase 2), assuming skills, debuffs, and Pair Up let you penetrate through enough to get a point of damage in. Worth noting that Ashnard doesn't have any skills outside of Mantle, although his weapon does give him critical hit immunity (for what good that gives when the opponent is shooting for 1 damage a turn at best anyways)

Could slash those numbers down with Hexing Rods though at least; Mantle won't stop MAX HP reduction at any rate, although I don't remember Hexing Rods stacking anyways.

/feg/ what is your excuse for not completing every single Fire Emblem game yet?

1. Leaving Anankos and Valla pretty much entirely out of Birthright and Conquest. Don't have the main villain basically not show up at all in 2/3 paths.
2. Revealing everything in a single massive plot dump as soon as you pick Revelations, rather than building up to it over time (and with hints being dropped in the other two routes).
3. Putting Anankos's backstory behind MORE DLC. We already spent 20$ for the true route, don't lock the backstory of the only villain you bothered to actually give a shit about behind it.
4. Abysmal worldbuilding to the point where only two countries really matter at all (even Valla doesn't get much explanation and pretty much exists so you have something to fight in the Revelations route). Seriously, what is the continent's name?
5. Atrocious villain selection. King Garon has less depth and reason to like or sympathize with him than Ashnard, Nergal, or even Medeus, which is a huge fucking issue when he fathered half of the royals in the game who are all loyal to him. And when you're on his side, he does nothing but antagonize you and try to kill you, and any potential character development he could have had in the Conquest route is made irrelevant by the whole "I AM ACTUALLY A SLIME MONSTER" thing.
6. Azure is a fucking idiot and should have regardless of route just pushed Corrin down the chasm so she could bring up the whole Valla thing.
7. Hoshido royals being given a generally better and more understanding portrayal than the Nohr royals.
8. Hoshido getting an entirely different (and generally new to the series) selection of weapons/classes/skills from Nohr (which got most of the traditional FE stuff) to begin with, even ignoring the fact they're often better.
9. Hoshido being protrayed as a magical perfect land while Nohr is shown in official art to be a worse place to live than fucking Mordor.
10. Fuck it, just literally everything about Hoshido. Name one thing about Hoshido that isn't horrible.

There's a variety of ideas in Fates that are presented but never used in any meaningful way. Everything feels contrived, down to the motivations of the characters.

If they had fully seperated CQ and BR and gave them an entirely different story and ditched Valla and Azura then it would've been way better. Just to throw some examples here:

Have CQ be about making a dreadful Nohr prosper while removing the corruption. You'd play maps where you fight to gain allies within Nohrian dominions and eventually overthrow Garon together with the help of your siblings after Xander finds out Garon just wants to live a life of excess.

Have BR be about how the Hoshidan upper echelon made a secret deal with some magical dragon to create fertile dragon veins under Hoshidan territory and sacrificing Nohrian ground for it. Again just like with the above present some genuine dilemma and show that Hoshido is not a good guy.

The only real bad myrm/swordsmaster in Radiant Dawn is Lucina. Edward is salvageable because he is one of the few okay units in Part 1. The others being Jill, Nolan, Aran, Sothe, the wolf laguz and then tauroneo. I would only choose a few of those to feed with EXP so Zihark/Ed, Jill/Nolan, and Aran.
