It doesn't die to midrange and you don't need 3 other cards. It's good against midrange; it shits all over midrange sword, for example. You also don't need to combo it off: it helps, but it's not necessary. You can just stall for 4 turns.

its not just that they auto win if you dont have an out but its also the equivalent of Exodia decks. You either outright stomp them or they've won from turn 1. Theres almost never any decent interaction or inbetween . If you pop the auto win or break the combo they insta concede. Otherwise you just sit there and fight an already lost battle.

Just started playing today with the steam release. Unfortunately my tablet is fucked so I couldnt import the 20 or so free packs I got on that.

Does anybody else find the presentation of this game near intolerable? Don't get me wrong, I like the generic anime style and the waifus, but the UI and battle animations in this game are a fucking eye sore. Everything feels so cramped on screen. The voice acting is also pretty horrible.

I also wish they hadn't tried so hard to distance themselves from hearthstone by making the control scheme shit.

All that said, it looks like a fun game and it seems like you get a lot more value for money than in hearthstone.

I think the battle animations are great, I like how flashy and suited to the cards they are. It's way better than trying to illustrate a card just slamming into something, Hearthstone does it pretty OK, but I was watching an Elder Scrolls stream and they looked like floating bits of paper, I thought it was awful.

There is. Go to properties on steam for the game, switch game to Japanese and let it update. Go into files and copy the "v" folder, change the language back to English from earlier let it update then go into files and replace "v" folder.

You can do more stuff with the m and a folder but they're not necessary.

Control Sword also has the strongest matchup vs Midrange Tempo Forest in the game too while being favored against nearly every aggro deck except bat (because of all the direct burn that goes through wards, while Control Sword has very little healing and relies on wards for protection)

Yeah, that's why Aggro Shadow/Blood are extremely unfavored vs Heal Haven right? Because they're not "hard" enough aggro despite running a deck full of burn and shit like Demonic Strike at times even.

Control in this game loses to combo, not aggro. Ask any bannermeme player if Control Sword is a good matchup for them - it's not.
