I finished it last night. I was a bit disappointed in Lily's personality, given what she appeared to be in volume 1. With that being said, Yunie was downright adorable.

They're still putting Shino in the spotlight, unfortunately. The game could be a lot better, but the writers keep throwing in scenes supposed to be touching and emotional but are completely out of place given previous events. It just ends up being cringeworthy and immersion-breaking.

The H-Scenes are solo scenes starring Kumiko, Yunie and Lily - much better range of characters, in my opinion. Have only beaten it to Kumiko's so far. The animated scenes aren't quite as good as I'd hoped they be - they're just a single loop, which really stands out during cumming animations since Keiji will abruptly shove it back in and have another orgasm as the loop restarts.

I enjoyed it a lot despite Shino, and I'll happily purchase volume 3.
Each novel could stand to be a little longer, though. I got 4 hours out of volume 2. I paid less for Harmonia and got double the amount of content with a more interesting story, so it needs work in that regard.

I love this little scene. Door 1 was kind of plain in comparison to the other ones, but I liked the progression of this little tidbit. It's very innocent and nostalgic--helped greatly by the 'pops' and 'cracks' in the audio, which make it sound like an old vinyl disc. It's also a bit haunting, given the context of the scene before it, the ever-increasing corruption of the visuals, and the music, which is actually a redux of a previously played track, but without the optimistic and happy vocal contributions from the chorus of children (https://youtu.be/UJQ9j8XRu0g?t=12). It is decidedly hollow, a sort of bitter counterpoint to the opening scene of the first Door.

Probably not. It has much more in common with stuff like Telltale games than anything, and those aren't really /vn/ material. The game really, really suffers from it, it loses quite a lot from taking out narration, and the animations they tried to replace it with are laughably bad. I've always wondered why they tried to change shit up so drastically in the third entry, was it just to appeal to westerners who didn't want to read too much? But you had to get through two full VNs to reach the damn thing, so clearly you had no problems with it at worst.

Wasn't Saya no Uta's atmosphere pretty great and still is? I enjoy how disorienting and nauseating Fuminori's portions are and the sense of relief that comes from other character's perspectives afterward. The soundtrack even goes from something you can't really call music as much as mind rape to something like this

In my opinion, yes. I enjoyed the smaller scale of Tsukihime and the gothic-horror setting. I also found the female cast to be immensely better, even if the male cast isn't as good as Fate's.

Both are problematic though in their unnecessary repetition and some pretty bad pacing issues. Tsukihime has a almost redundant route, and another route which is about 50% redundant. Still, it remains probably my favorite visual novel over all, with hefty amounts of nostalgia probably contributing to that factor.

Eternal lolis are the best.

Is Remember 11 the most disappointing VN?
Umineko had a terrible ending, but it sort of had one, and Ever 17 was very boring in a lot of parts, but it was a proper story.
What went wrong with Remember 11? why was it released like this?

Yes. Though her route does have some interesting information, it's also largely a repeat of Arcueid's route. Still, some pretty good scenes. I would argue that it's actually a little bit better than Arcueid's route in some regards, but most people go Arcueid -> Ciel (like I did) and end up being bored because of all the repetitive information.

And then that almost happens again in Kohaku's route after clearing Hisui's, but it isn't AS major.

Remember11 consistently has outstanding pacing, great characters, a good atmosphere for those characters, a proper mystery behind what's going on, fitting music, and is just generally an extremely well conceived work.

The actual content itself is top tier. The only disappointment is that there wasn't a third route to tie it all up.

There's enough information to put together what a third route could have been though.

Actually, I enjoyed seeing that side of her a lot and it made for some of her best scenes. I also enjoyed the Good ending where it implies that Arc is going to cuck Ciel and steal Shiki from her.

Shiki breaks his promise with her and doesn't show up. Arc waits. And waits. And eventually she decides she's going to break into his house and smash his head in. Literally.

Then she sees him sleeping there and, upon seeing his peaceful face, decides not to kill him. She even tells him this, but iirc Shiki just kind of laughs it off.

It's why I like her so much. She's got that stark contrast between moods and a lot of gap moe as a result. You're right, she is pretty sweet and naive, but she only acts that way around Shiki, really.
