Agricraft at least helps me in getting Nether Wart and Glowstone (with some help by Recurrent Complex Sky Temples), but I still need a Ghast Spawner working so that I can actually begin my mob system.

No Mob Spawns In Trees or something like that, other than letting you blacklist certain blocks from mob spawning (including trees by default obviously), also lets you fuck around with mob spawning in general as well. I've made Blazes spawn naturally in my Nether after seeing how that faggot vazkii did it on 1.10 and it works well enough.

Okay, I'm seeing a lot of people complain about 1.10 and Forge. What exactly happened?

If I was able to run 25 mods in 1.7 on a potato, will I be able to run the same amount of mods in 1.10 on that same potato? I just want to play Minecraft on a new version, man.

Vanilla .10 is better than 1.7.
Modded .10 eats double the ram with a third part of the mods in any 1.7.10 mmodpack.

Ruins lets you spawn villagers with customized selling items. So you could make him sell tears and netherwarts for N emeralds or something.

An easier option might be to create a dungeon with a blaze/ghast spawner. Recurrent Complex could probably do something similar too if you'd rather work with a gui.

I do not see your source of complaint. if you're going to bitch about vazcunt doing it you'd better start berating every techmod fag ever for copying shit out of other tech mods, given how they're all essentially the same shit now because everybody wants the same shit out of their mod of choice.

long as the shitter doesn't directly lift their code, there's nothing to open your mouths about. ain't a thing wrong with "hey, can you do that too?" without straight up ganking people's code.

don't let your justified hate for the flowerfaggot turn you into an even bigger faggot.

I just realized I might not have been born for autism walls. After making so many of them I've noticed how stressed I get over trying to organize everything perfectly by categories, and how painful it is to even think about the idea of getting one new item that doesn't fit, forcing me to bring the entire wall down to reorganize everything. The notion of not organizing anything is unacceptable as well even if I can use a request pipe or AE to access my stuff.

The problem is, the redditard is going, "Hey vazcunt, come here and take this, I want it.", when he could easily just install the original mod, or ask the creator to make it standalone.
It's courtesy.
It's not about fucking copying features, it's just really fucking rude to do that.
And when people "copy" things, they usually don't do it with the direct intention of copying someone else's design. They usually do it unintentionally, or take inspiration from.
They don't go, "Hey this is cool I want it, I take it.".
Fucking rude it is.
It's not about being original, it's about not being a cunt.

It's amazing. I use it instead of AE2 whenever I can. The best part is the + buttons on the request table - load up a recipe with NEI, then hit +, and it will pull all of the components from storage and craft them if necessary. AE2 has no substitute for that.

it can in the exact same way
>>
>>158647431
Did they think it couldn't do that?
>>
>>158647281

Nope. It won't request the crafting of any components of the recipe you loaded up using NEI.

For example, you want to craft an iron pickaxe, but you have no sticks in storage. Attempting to load the iron pickaxe recipe into a crafting terminal will only put three iron ingots into the grid - you have to manually request the sticks to be crafted.

In the request table, attempting to load the iron pickaxe recipe will fill the crafting grid with ghost items. Then, when you click +, it will request iron ingots from storage *and* request the crafting of the sticks, both of which will be sent to the request table's inventory.

Millenaire is broken as fuck currently, and also ded. Certain mods (I think NEI) make it fill the console with error messages whenever you're near a village, which leads to giant log files, and also a lot more extra garbage dumping, meaning more FPS drops.

It used to be a pretty great mod, but right now, it's honestly not worth the time.

Automated smelting and some of the most efficient mob grinders you can make either require very little redstone or absolutely no redstone at all.

Complexity =/= good.
>>
>>158689035
complexity = fun.
single block does everything is boring as fuck.
Ethoslab made a system that can look through the new chests, if it contains the item your looking for its given to you.
redstone is meant to be a puzzle, figuring out the puzzle is rewarding.
im playing a (mostly) vanilla pack right now, only thing in it is aesthetic blocks, and 1 block mades seeds that fall on tilled soil plant automatically.
im going to make it all based around loading and unloading minecarts in different areas of my base, via time or item quantity. just because you cant wrap your brain around electrical engineering doesnt mean you shouldnt try to have some fun

First you need a Train Assembly Table (far left pic relate), which is the mod's general crafting table. This is where you make all the parts and tracks.
Make yourself a TrainCraft guidebook, and then a Train Table 1 (The brown table) and watch all your iron and wood disappear.
>>
>>158692004
Alright, well, let me address your argument better then.

You don't have to be an expert in electrical engineering, learning and knowing a few lil gates can go a long way, if even that. you don't even have to know what a gate really is if you can keep the various rules of individual parts of redstone in mind.

it's a fun optional thing, and if you don't have the know-how or interest, feel free to not pursue. But don't make it sound like it's the game's fault for including something you just don't want to learn.

That said, a tutorial WOULD be nice indeed. mc needs a lot of basic level shit.

Why is it so hard for you to understand that I shouldn't have to rely on third-party sources to make a game playable/fun?
I spent money for a certain product. That product should be fully functional upon purchase. So because you just so happen to have the tools and knowledge to make this product actually functional, I'm suddenly a retard for not being able to use something I paid for?

Imagine if auto repair shops used that same fucking line of logic.

Whatever happen to the tranny?
>>
>all this redstone talk

Guys. Basic redstone is simple.
Torch: emits power when the torch itself isn't powered.
Dust: transmits power up to 15 blocks, powers the block below it.
Repeater: emits power after a delay when powered.
Door, piston, TNT, etc.: activates when powered.

And that's it, you can make anything from a computer to make TNT go kaboom with it.

Now, about logic gates: yeah, they are convenient as fuck to know when dealing with redstone. But you can still do simple stuff without them, like powering a double door to open with a single pressure plate, or automatic sugar cane harvesters.

I have both installed. I like the boats because they are comfy, it can be a bit buggy close to shore or in narrow rivers but it's good in the large open ocean that separates the islands on this worldgen.

I honestly find Archimedes more buggy because of the issue with it always picking up blocks I don't want with it.

I play to liven up the town. I have Ancient Warfare installed with it's NPCs. I installed Custom NPCs too but found it's not really survival-friendly and I couldn't really do want I want to do with the AI. It seemed too complicated for just wanting concentrated comfy.

Is there a simple and quick way to automate the unlimited production of a recipe that uses three or more materials? The problem I run into is that the material that gets produced at the greatest rate floods the crafting inventory leaving no space for the other materials to enter, halting production. It is in the server's modpack but I've never used it. Does it have a simple fix for this?
>redstone stuff handling the IO rates?
Theoretically possible but I'd probably just tie my brain in a knot trying to account for all possible failstates.
>Do any crafty table type mods do placeholders?
Not that I'm aware of. BC auto workbenches used to be good for this, but in the current version they've been changed to get flooded as well. TE Cyclic Assemblers at least lets you segregate half of the inventory between inputs, but that only helps when you're working with just two materials. There are some other options available but I don't think any of them have placeholders, either.

>medieval village on river
A hatchet, it usually has like 10-200 persons living on it (5 or 6 houses would represent it) it bases itself around a service, lumbery, agriculture, minery all being prime needs, however you can also make a house for an smith, a doctor, a witchcraftman and much more as those are always useful. They also can be under the protection of a lord who they pay tribute for of course protection and the use of the land so you could build a manor on a hill if you feel like doing so. Dont look for inspo on real villages as those werent really aesthethic but try on mc villages such as the one of anon in >>158802889

>>158802889

>>158803680
Yeah, I forgot to mention that the CA only lets you divide stuff into 2.
Other than LP, is there really no other way to regulate items in your pack? Things like TC golems, Translocators and Extra Utils transfer nodes for example will work to ensure that yu only have up to a certain amount of items in an inventory, in this case the assembler.
>>
>>158804207

>>
>>158804696
Transfer nodes themselves are simple as fuck to use, all you'll have to do is use a filter to choose what they can pull out and rationing pipes (one stack) or super rationing pipes (one item) to regulate the output. They might get stuck on one type of item if you only use one for all 3, so using three separate pipes might be the best idea.

What kills me the most is how little you get in return with clay.

~10 stairs per 64 stack of raw clay.
>>
>>158812207
Please don't make me think about that. I still struggle with my five-tall caves, but at least I feel I'm starting to get decent at indenting walls and ceilings to a level. Trying to make something that big at this point would make me give up on Minecraft for a few weeks.
And I just fucking realized that I've disabled the 1.8 stones in my world. Time to ProjectE them I guess

I've gotten pretty lucky with my fortune II pickaxe so far. I'm just surprised that I've been mining for so long and barely found any diamonds at all.
>>
>>158817348
Fortune 3 is of course not that efficient as it can give you from 4 to 1 diamond and when you get 1 diamond believe me it feels like shit. Try enchanting plus for a better enchanting table and when you feel like playing tech do so.
>>

I'm just getting the materials together to build a rock crusher. What tech mods would you recommend me use? The only one I ever used was IndustrialCraft in tekkit years ago.
>>
>>158818175
what are you looking for from a tech mod, that is the question.
>>
>>158818437
Well I already have trains and buildcraft, so something with cool machines that would work well with those I guess.
>>
>>158818649
Perhaps I should have worded it better.
Do you want aesthetics, logistics, complexity, microcrafting, etc.?
Tech mods come in many flavors.
All of them, save for a few, have some pretty cool shit.
>>
>>158818896
I think something with some nice aesthetics would be nice, I want to make some cool factories and ruin my landscape.
>>
>>158819129
Immersive engineering has industrial era tier aesthetics, but suffers from not being viable too much on its own.\
Industrialcraft, though heavily changed from the tekkit eras - much more microcrafting, machines in the crafting chain, etc, they took inspiration from gregtech - still maintains some nice aesthetics.
Mekanism has some nice aesthetic blocks, but not much. Best for powergen, ore processing, and a few other stuffs though.

If you want aesthetics, chisel, though not a tech mod, has some wonderful industrial type stuff.
Best paired with a tech mod that lets you mass produce iron and stone, those are the primary components of the industrial looking blocks.
Also get railcraft if you don't have it. Enhances traincraft and is invaluable. Also has some aesthetic things.
>>
>>158819565
I might check out immersive engineering, thanks senpai.

I do have railcraft, I love the boilers.
>>
>>158815263
desu, it's not a good idea to use a diamond pick for general mining. save it for obsidian and whatnot, or slap fortune or silk touch on it and use it for diamonds, redstone, lapis, etc. in vanilla, i'd always carry iron picks around with me, since they're considerably much more easily replaced than diamond picks, and the mining speed isn't...too much worse.

Pic related isn't mine, but is kinda what I like to do.

Matter Overdrive has a quest system and like Witchery has a way to irreversibly make you into something else. For MO it's being an android, for Witchery it's either Werewolf or Vampire.
>>
>>158893020
>witchery
>techmod

Magic mods, or at least ones themed off magic if they are arguably techmods with a magic paintjob, tend to be pretty good about giving you solid goals
>>
Is anyone here fairly familiar with CustomNPCs' AI? all I want to do is make some people who will walk around my little town throughout the day, even having their own schedules and going to certain places and then go home at night to a room.

Was just comparing it with Witchery, one of many magic mods that has an endgame. Obviously, I can't compare it with other tech mods because most of them do not have an end in sight.

Anybody got any suggestions for mods with an "end goal" or boss or... anything?

He has a custom recipe handler to prevent other mods from interacting with it. So it pretty much has no compatibility outside of his other reika mods, which really fucking sucks for general modpacks, and to top it off it is a performance hog so even dedicated servers have a hard time running just it alone. Combine the two and you have a recipe for bad morale and no one talking about it, It's really a fun mod but reika goes out of his way to make sure people don't have fun with it.

+progress on the request
>>
>>158916029
Two things are wrong with that.

1. /mcg/ chats get off topic fast - so fast that multiple chat rooms spawn in an attempt to keep things on-topic, see mofskype, mcgskype and #mcg. The thing here really is that off topic and in general shit posting gets old quickly and most people would rather not have their screen clogged with ass.

2. Most people aren't tech savvy enough to setup irc clients, bouncers, syncing mod links etc. Most people can barely get a copy and paste mod pack running, also hence simpler servers are more popular. Not to mention people are just too lazy to do anything more, who can blame them anyways, people just want to get home sit down and relax and not bother with a dozen hoops. People flip out with monthly modpack updates as it is.

Top tier
>TC inventory scanner - ABSOLUTELY A MUST
>TC node tracker
>Automagy - lot of logistics oriented content
>T.Horizons - yes. would be nice if hobo documented the edits he's made to it though

High tier
>NotEnoughTCTabs - basically required if you have a lot of addons
>Gadomancy - lot of mid/late game content, very useful features
>T.Tinkerer - good amount of utility stuff, but holy shit - disable the elemental fires. KAMI is pretty balanced, despite what some people seem to think
>Forbidden Magic - has cross-compat with Blood Magic, Botania and Ars Magica, as well as good standalone content
>Thaumic Exploration - small but useful.

Good tier
>TC NEI plugin - good, but not required. Lets you lookup aspect combos, and can see all your scanned things for aspect breakdown
>Witching Gadgets (fork available, tab+item cleanup/configs added) - abacus, infernal blast furnace, and essentia pump are amazing
>Tainted Magic - 90% endgame shit that's OP and broken as fuck, but still fun. recently updated
>T.Bases (fork available, tab+item cleanup/configs added) - kitchen sink addon, has a lot of neat stuff, but lot of things that you'll probably never use
>Magia Naturalis - kinda WIP, but has some good stuff
>Magic Bees - bees and bee accessories

>TC Minus TC - removes research, warp, and unlocks everything by default.
>T.Sanity - adds research to unlock Eldritch tab instead of waiting for random warp event

"It's alright"/Niche
>T.Dyes - WIP. dyeable crimson/fortress armor
>Nodal Mechanics - create nodes for high cost. good for custom energised nodes. decent for serbs if you can't find any/destroyed
>T.Infusion - give blocks special properties
>Thaumaturgical Knowledge - some alchemy stuff. 1.8 version looks gud
>T.Alchemy - more crucible recipes, essentia combiner
>Magical Decorations
>Warp Theory - YMMV

Technomancy/T.Energistics are for fags

Absolutely shit
>T.Warden
>T.Revelations
