A better use of vaal orbs is to buy disciplines and corrupt them, can just print money by selling vaal disciplines at 5c (EHC price). That and corrupting every viridian for chill of corruption and sac harvest, but those are less reliable than vaal discipline.

How do you plan on scaling this effectively considering you need conflicting prefixes on gear and miss out on shield scaling? Run the numbers, it's unlikely you get a high enough ES buffer for it to be worth it.

Consider what you would need gear wise:
ES/EVA hybrid base
with a life roll (prefix 1)
with es roll (prefix 2)
with eva roll (prefix 3)
= no room for effective es or eva scaling since those need 2 rolls (flat value and % increase)

Aura wise:
Discipline (35%)
Grace (50%)

The numbers look good on paper because you only consider your tree, not actual in-game scaling avenues. Elementalist's reduced reflect damage taken or Arrow Dancing don't particularly help you in reflect maps since you would constantly interrupt your ES recharge. You could pick up GR and duelist leech nodes to counteract this but your tree is already stretched thin as it is. Overcharged is garbage and you're skipping frenzy and jewel nodes.

There's no reason to build around a support that double dips on less damage. You're picking the wrong ascendancy to begin with, and trying to work around the wrong 5L/6L, which means your build is already a failure, not even considering pathing mistakes. Flameblast totems inquisitors could use prolif gem, but that's because they already have high enough damage to ignore the damage penalty.

So there are a few ways to hit yourself right.

Less duration is by far the most important support for EQ, then just grab whatever gives most damage. Avoid faster attacks and forget about multistrike.

Also, if you're planning to go bleed/poison, consider rapid decay.

I spam frost blades at incoming mobs, switch to cleave if I'm getting swarmed in melee, I use dual strike for the survivors/bosses. I also use punishment and assassin's marks when things get harder. And I have herald of ash on all the time.

Erthquake overall damage per use is massive and has by far the biggest AoE of all melee skills. The nature of the skill also lets you completely skimp on attack speed and focus on raw damage per hit.

The difference between the two bows is not what people here are making it out to be. In exchange for less base crit, you get a single damage type instead of three. If you are playing elemental bow Nuro's can be much much stronger due to the cold nodes on the bottom right hand side of the tree, and also the use of the Cold Steel unique jewel. You will crit ~20% less often than a Windripper, and have slower attack speed, but you will more than make up for that in the scalability of your base damage in terms of DPS. The reason most people prefer windripper for elemental builds is that crit creates status effects. The rest is history, and the Nuro's Harp became a laughing stock as a result, even though it's totally viable.
