Testing it out now. 16 orbs, 4 dongs and 5 combos on a non-plussed Scheat does like 8.5m damage. Everything else kind of suffers though, so you very likely need Awoken Hermes and maybe SQ for more dongs.

It is, with 18 orbs and 5 combos my team does something stupid like 12-15m per card if I go for rows. Matching 3 combos of blue orbs (and only 3 combos) makes each card do like 1-1.5m damage too.

This gets way overstated. What dongs give you is flexibility and decent bump at 7/8/10/11 Orbs unless you are running a full meme team with 2x Scheats + Orochi which pushes your orb minimum to 10. At 12 orbs, rows still break even with that team.

With more reasonable dongers that still give you 12m+ damage with 9 orbs like Kamui, Skuld, Nut you can make a team that is has more balanced damage, but their actives are not amazing either.

It's more a question of what you actually have.

Just to throw a curve ball. A haste heavy team is still better than stacking either excessively.
