Get more poise. Fighting great swords in arena is not fun. You can't really play to passive agaisnt them because their team mate will just come up for behind and the greatsword user can just cleave down 2 or 3 guys easy because great swords have huge range

She's literally just Maria's moveset, the invisible shit didn't work on me because my PS4 has 7.1 surround setup and I heard her land each time she did it.

Honestly didn't care for it very much. My SL80 STR build went through it like a hot knife through bread, but my SL100 wizard is suffering since I came back to a nerfed Estoc which was my only side arm that wasn't a catalyst.

Finished it twice, NG++ both times.
I dislike Friede the more I fight her.
The other boss isn't even worth mentioning. Now that I've killed it twice, I probably won't bother again unless I want the arena or valorheart on a character.

The areas were cool and I really liked the Millwood knights as enemies. They were more fun than anything in the base game.

I just wish there was more. I keep going to the bonfire warp menu to play more DLC and realizing that's all there is.

Imagine if this fight was only the first of at least one or two others (wolf boss not counting, he's just the one you rush to when you want to unlock the arena)

It would be fucking amazing, and have a real change of surpassing Old Hunters. At is it though, it's like this stopped at the story and pacing equivalent of the Ludvig fight.

I'm really jealous of all the people who get to pick up the GOTY edition with all the DLCs a year from now and have everything ready for them from the get-go. Meanwhile, we have to wait another 6 months for the second half of this.

Wish I wasn't broke af for the dlc edition. How is it even valued at $15, I hardly see a quarter of the content in it compared to the base game.

I'm using the battle axe you find early in the DLC, it's pretty tight. Its warcry is pretty fucking funny for comboing people, I bodyslammed an invader off of a cliff with it earlier. ~500dmg at +10 heavy with 40STR. The javelin seems kind of shit and the sword/shield weapon feels like it's probably just worse than using a real shield/ss.

The story also felt really absent. Like there was hardly any noteworthy lore. Item descriptions were barebones or unrelated to anything like a lot of the bad DaS2 ones about "Geisteel" and the NPCs had very little to say beyond the skeletal outline of "painting is rotting, fire will burn it, painter needs fire, go fetch fire"

The DLC doesn't just feel short, it feels spread thin, like not enough butter on half a bagel.

I haven't tried soul stream, but souls spear is not too tough. I do a mix of pyro and magic. pyro is when they're coming for me specifically (i use faron flashsword as well because people seem to not expect that at all..) and then magic for when they're going for someone else and it's essentially a backstab.

crystal soul spear usually takes out at least 75% of their life.

Most people don't in all honesty, and when they do it's usually at meta level (SL120-140) where there are enough people invading at the same time to even the odds. It's why a lot of people invade at post-pontiff because of aldrich evening the odds. It's why the Bloodshades were invented, where people actually learned to wait for backup against gankers and do "co-op invasions".

On the other hand people also like invasions because it's an "anything goes" sort of deal. That's why you can't get mad at shit like DMB follower's sabre, because things are so stacked against invaders usually that anything is allowed and many times even the most broken shit isn't enough. Just watched Oro using DMB sabre fight against a 1v4, where he actually killed all 3 of the guys phantoms and he got away because he had to kill a purple who was throwing fireballs and would kill him from friendly fire, and summoned all 3 phantoms back, one of the guys being so high of a level he could swing an exile GS like 6 or 7 times. World was seeded and everything too.

Some people specifically make builds to be able to fight against multiple people though, it's fun. After you play long enough and git gud, pontiff duels start to get really boring. That is why people invade. All I do is invade now, I've done a lot of SL125-130 pontiff/aldrich invasions and now have been working on new characters at different levels using different builds/weapons so I can expand where I can invade.

Invading is the best part of the souls games, it's the "real game" imo. It's just that you have to git gud before you can play it and you have to really know what you're getting into. Getting over "muh honor" is really, seriously difficult for a lot of people. Really.

For god's sake, her big move where she flies in the air and then dives towards you is borderline identical, and she even fights you in a room that looks like the Astral Clocktower. The only thing that differentiates her is that she has a phase where she makes you fight a different boss while she hits you with a status effect, which isn't an especially great part of the game
Considering that this fight is clearly what most of the effort went into, it's kind of disappointing that the best they could come up with is a cross between Lady Maria and Priscilla with a cameo by Cleric Beast

My problem with Freide isn't that i'm getting overwhelmed, but that i run out of estus. I've gotten good at phase 1 and okay at phase 2, but by phase 3 i usually only have 3 or 4 left.

I still only had 10 flasks at +2 when i entered the dlc, i probably should've played with my character a bit more before getting in.

Beat the dlc, when to get the slab from Corvianbro but he's just gone. Does he relocate somewhere else?
