I started playing it the very first day it came out in the EN version, had another JP account but I gave it away since it was killing me playing both at the same time.

I have some UR cards already, and the only 2 SSR are now idolized. I was checking out all the cards and using the ones I have used the less.
Somehow I want to use the SRs because I don't have much slots anymore, but I also want to keep them.

Seriously, do the math: every 10+1 should have given you around a 20% chance of UR before the current SSR math change, ignoring BTs. If you've been playing for a few years and were disciplined and didn't get carried away trying to out-whale whales you should have accumulated a lot by now unless the RNG gods really hate you.

Although your rank suffers. I've played ages and am still only a bit over rank 200 whereas some of the people I friended back then and tiered a lot are now 250-300+. And in turn if I ever did want to tier I'd have to spend much more then they would.

Compared to the difference between an idolized SR and a UR? Yes a raw 10% isn't that great.

It's more then that, because
- (minor) She has better sub stats, and that boosts overall friend bonuses that use 12% of a sub vs 9% main.
- The big one: She also has 2 more SIS slots then an SR, and that easily crushes anything else. A full 4 slots means being able to fit one of the big boosters (2.4% for everyone on the team say), or a cross + kiss, or even ring + perfume, all of which provide well over 10% by themselves.

Before SIS it wouldn't be so clear cut, but before SIS we didn't have aqours either so whatever.

Going for tier 2 actually gives you better chances to get an ultra rare card per loveca if you factor in the stickers and convert the SRs to blue tickets - at least for my stats and for the most recent events.

Also I did the math, a 10+1 roll gives you only slightly more than a 10% chance to get an UR.

Probability of all pulls giving no UR: 0.99^11 = ~0.895

Probability of getting at least 1 UR: 1-0.895 = ~0.105

I'm not sure you're right here. Each roll in principle should be independent of the others, so 1% for each one. The final 1 though (for a while anyway, not in the beginning) is a guaranteed SR or better, so you're definitely wrong to mix it in as if it's the same. As a guaranteed SR back before SSR was added it should have been 90% SR and 10% of UR by itself IIRC.

While it does depend on RNG I again don't think your math is right. I also think KLab has made the RNG more generous because it seems like a lot of people got SSR or UR out of green tickets in Aqours this past event.

Yes. Final Attribute (as you see it on the final screen before launching a live) is directly translated to score. Matching group is another flat 10%, as is matching primary (though everyone will have that except very novice players). That's why in fact for novice players a non-primary matching card can actually be better for score, same principle. In some cases an SR+ sub attribute can exceed the primary attribute of any R or N they might have by >10%.

Is there something you've seen or read that makes you think this is how the game works with the guaranteed SR mechanic?

By doing it 100% but not spending anything (or at least not unless it'll make a profit, ie., if it takes 1 loveca to reach a 2 loveca bonus obviously that's worth it). How much you get depends on the event, how good you are, and luck, but you will always get a least 6-10+, and depending on your team/skill/luck maybe some other goodies luck green tickets or SR supports (in medfes) etc. In a token even like this last one you get at least 4x just from the 4 EX songs alone even if you can't FC any, another 4x if you can, at least 2-4 from completion bonuses, 1 from the standard normal fag idolization, another few from ranking bonuses (or else GTs), etc. Plus the dailies that come with doing an event anyway.

I guess I've been luckier then many if you're right anon but I've never seen anything remotely like this stuff. I once at 5 10+1 "guaranteed SR+" and got 10 Rs and 1 SR every single time. The rate at which klab pumps out loveca in the last year though compared to the old days is pretty wild, plus the BTs, plus they retroactively gave us stickers for all the ones we'd disposed of for I think like a year ahead which meant a pile of BTs right then though I kind of wished I'd saved them.

Also I calculated and I probably only missed about 500 gems, or 2 URs assuming the ~18% chance per 10+1 roll.

Roughly 7 login gems per month x 24 months = 168 gems.

I missed 39 events, assuming no loveca spent on events I estimated a gain of roughly 5 gems per event, giving ~200 gems.

9 birthdays per year x 2 years x 5 gems gives another 90 gems.

I factored in another 50-60 gems because I know they used to give them as compensation for event maintenance.

This adds up to roughly 500 gems, or 10 10+1 rolls. With the 20% chance that's an average of 2 UR cards. I have 3 right now, so even if I got slightly more than average I'd have...6 or 7. Even if I underestimated event loveca, I probably still wouldn't have had enough to get more than an average of 3 UR cards, so I stand by my assertion that you're exceptionally lucky, having roughly twice the number of URs I'd expect myself to have.

No, they were introduced way way back with 3.x. But before 4.0 you could only use them for the store, spending them on either cards or on BTs. I spent all mine on BTs and did get some good cards out of it but if I'd saved them I probably could have gotten more use out of using them for idolization/slots.

You're missing a few things. First, it's 1 gem per day since EN got dailies (back in April or May I think). Your event loveca calc is definitely low (at least for an OCD), see >>158346441. You don't seem to be taking into account BTs or GTs, although the latter is complex since it too is heavily luck dependent. You're missing some other bonuses, like gems given during the airing of shows or the movie. Unless you already had somehow scouted everyone you probably would have gotten more via idolization as well just from normie scouting, even today I still have a few Rs I've never seen.

I'm not exactly sure how to add all that up but it's a lot of extra opportunities if you wanted to stay purely f2p but were obsessive about playing. I haven't kept track carefully enough to see if my luck is really much better, maybe I'm about to hit a long dry streak, but two years should be way more then 500 gems. I've gotten at least 400 playing normally in just the last 7 months.

Yeah, I left tickets out - blue tickets because I didn't realize they were available, green ones because I was lazy and didn't think it'd be more than 1 per event anyways - and each one is only a 1% chance of getting a UR. I definitely agree I was low for event loveca, at least on token events where you can get 4 loveca for clearing each type of EX.

I deliberately left out idolizing Ns and Rs, because I didn't miss the gems from them by not playing. Since restarting I've already gotten almost all of them completed. There are probably some Rs I've never seen yet too, but they likely only amount to 5-10 gems total.

My guess is I could be off by some pretty big value, say 250 loveca even. But that's only another 1 UR on average.

Blue tickets is probably the biggest factor, and likely accounts for the discrepancy. Although I've done at least 5 pulls since restarting and I still haven't gotten a single UR.

Partner is mainly about letting your main screen idol be who you like regardless of teams and also gather profile points so that you can have your top girls be whomever you want. It also means freefags can get those bonus pre-idolized pseudo-URs out of their rankings. I don't know if it affects bond at all but bond accumulates so fast anyway it's pretty irrelevant.
