Depends on how you define 'relevant ingame' but I can be a part of a /vg/ guild and still trash people in the top normie guilds all the same. A /vg/ guild with no allies will probably never field a 100 man army to siege a castle or whatever, but they can certainly ally with guilds that can.

I've been with top normie PvP guilds and /vg/ guilds and from my experience I would rather be with people that are much more fun to be around and gain my personal sense of relevancy through how well I do individually.

ive played tera and BnS. what makes this game attractive is the fact that they dont bull shit around with niche gimmics and instead just make a standard FULLY OPEN WORLD MMO and put EVERYTHING players actually want in a MMO inside of it.

you have hour housing/hot springs for maximum ERPing, Meaningful gear paths, open world flying without load screens or limitations, multiple PvP and PvE options, loli creation, etc.

basically everything you want in a MMO is there except dragon mounts. (im not sure if this game has dragon mounts). however, the fact that you can ride a giant fucking whale or cat and put 5-40 of your friends on the damn things then im sure a dragon mount is in the game, if not on the way. so whatever your flavor is, this game has it. thats why im excited to play it, and i havent been excited to play a MMO in years since my days of playing flyff and perfect world.

the only reason i played tera and BnS was to sate a appetite i had for my MMO famine, but i lost interest in them the instant i get to end game. i make more fucking lewd SFM content for tera than play the game now. with this game i actually feel like RPing for the first time since 2006. two thousand and fucking six.


that being said, i hope it lives up to the hype i have for it, otherwise im entirely done with MMOs i think.

oh, i forgot to mention one other very important thing. Gear progression actually makes you LOOK AND FEEL more powerful. you can actually tell the diffrence between some scrub in trash gear and someone in fully upgraded powerful gear. in BnS everyone looked the same power wise. you didnt feel or look powerful in that game at all. the only way to even tell if someone had good gear was to look at the profile. tera has the same problem (although they do atleast have weapon glows, which is made pointless anyway if you have something like a starwars weapon skin that is already glowy as fuck).

Black dessert suffers from that problem the most aswell. everyone looks generic and boring as fuck.

games like perfect world, diablo 3, and even flyff atleast made you look and feel powerful. i dont get why games stopped doing that.
