Yeah, but that makes it a challenge since you need to keep capturing the best digimon, and cuts down on the repetitive grinding since you don't have to level up from level 1. To be fair, as you said TV Bagramon was a bit more interested in multiverse conquest than in being a pessimistic fatalist involved in the end of existence as his manga self, hence why he didn't destroy the digital world once he conquered it and simply wanted to get even more universes under the palm of his hand.

And It's been a while since I watched Xros Wars, but I think D5 despite its name simply was the fusion of universes rather than honoring its name and deleting shit. At worst only the human world would suffer as it didn't do shit to the digital world

Both Bagramons had different outlooks and motivations, but their goals were more similar than it seems.

In the anime, Bagramon wanted to collect all of the Code Crowns to fuse the Zones into one world he could rule without problems. I don't remember if he wanted to control the human world too, but the digital world was his priority.

In the manga, Bagramon was dissapointed by god's inaction in the world, so he wanted to rule the world according to his own idea of Justice. All the machinations he did was to prove his point, that the world was rotten to the core and nothing could change that, but after all he gave digimons a second chance to prove their worthiness. Also DarkKnightmon being a wild card and everyone dying was part of the plan, he was going to pull a hard reset anyway, so in the end all the things that could happen at that point would have been meaningless.

I've managed to catch up with Appmon (I know it's only been 4 episodes but I hadn't watched any of it since the first episode raw).

It's very good.

It reminds me of Xros's Hunters arc, except Appmon is what Hunters tried to be but had none of the time nor care to achieve it.

Roleplaymon's backstory made me sad. Especially when it turned out he had parents.
