They've got citadels, but they're protected by turtleback armor, which means that anything outside of plunging fire is going to have a really hard time getting through into the citadel

Chances are the shell is making it's way through the first layer of belt armor but not the turtleback armor, so it's only counting as a regular pen, or it's hitting part of the superstructure or unarmored hull and just overpenning.

They are good on 1 target and one target only.

Sometimes i will yolo into a few ships, best to do it between 2 BB for extra fun espc if you have 2 sets of torps so maximum dmg.

You lose the dispersion bonus but anything under 5km you will mostly hit anyways, DD are a pain but if you can aim your main guns then not really a problem.

Is it worth 5pts? Nope

Look at other lower tier skills which will offer you more of an advantage.

I have a few ships built for secondaries and after trying out the manual meme i thought it was not worth it in general.

It is rare that you tackle one ship alone anyways so i would rarther have both sides firing and causing as much damage as possible because each shell can cause fire.

Even on Bismarck 10km secondaries manual will help to hit from that range alot more often but even so only 1 target.

Over a fifth of the damage I deal in Bismarck comes from secondaries and their fires, and I regularly have 100k+ games. It's better to actually hit something than be firing and missing at multiple targets. It also makes it more viable to keep a safe distance at 10km where you're less likely to have multiple ships in range anyway. It's not a perfect skill and the devs have considered either buffing it or reducing its cost, but it's still a good choice.

All ships are worth the same. You are rewarded for %HP, so soloing a DD is the same as soloing a BB. Intuitively, it makes sense that emptying a hangar is the same as killing a ship, as they both completely eliminate their combat capability.

AS loadouts are cancer and shouldn't be encouraged.

Because of fucked up squadron sizes, if squadron sizes were the same and USN got a 2/2/2 like IJN then balanced would actually make sense. Until then at t7-t8 gets shit on in 1/1/1 because IJN can simply 2/2/2 and beat them. At t8 USN gets a viable strike loadout with enough reserve planes. At t9 Strike works good while 2/1/1 I guess is balanced. T10 is either 2/1/2 or 1/1/3. Meanwhile the IJN CV at t9 gets 2/3/2. Which means in its average upgraded loadout, it gets more torpedo and dive bombers in it's loadout and with upgrades to squadron size, can keep its own with an Essex in the air.
