DaS3 is definitely much harder. Base game BB is a joke if you level vitality, because bosses do not come close to keeping up with how fast blood vials are. Chalices can be unreasonably difficult, though.

DaS3 has a number of more or less challenging bosses (Sulhyvan, Dancer, Twin Princes, Nameless King, SoC). They generally aren't as hard as Orphan or Fume Knight, but they're difficult by Souls standards (where the vast majority of bosses are pretty easy). To be fair, I played through most of the game with a fairly low DPS weapon (Corvian Great Scythe), but still. A retard could mash through Bloodborne with Ludwig's Holy Blade. Most people saying Bloodborne is harder never played a Souls game before Bloodborne, or were unregenerate great shield turtles or sorcerers.

Because I had been stuck on the fucker for 9 hours and I was so sick and tired of his first phase. I still to this day can't beat the first phase without Valtr.

I'm not sure. I mean, I know everyone is different but I played DS3 first and now that I've played bloodborne I fount the latter harder.

In DS3 the boss that I died to the most was champ gundyr, which took me about 8 tries. NK took me 4 and Sulyvahn took me 3. Everyone else 2 or under. For comparison in BB, BSB took me about 8 tries, rom took 10 maybe and gehrman took like 15 or so.

The Blunderbuss is great as a chaser when invading. If their scrub ass turns tail and books it, the stagger from getting shotgunned is long enough to cover some of the distance, which means you can get right back on them in just a few blasts.

Beyond that, shotguns are nice in that if you happen to miss the parry, you'll still probably stagger whatever you're shooting at.

Not so much in all the previous games, Bloodborne's PvP in particular is kind of fucked. Gems make fights a total crapshoot as to how fair or fast it's going to be, and you can never know which way it's going to be until you get hit. Problem with that is that sometimes you'll take borderline no damage because they have garbage gems, or you'll lose half your health because they're a bloated 50/50 statheap with chalice gems.

Don't get me wrong, I love the game, PvP included. But to say it isn't at least a little messed is disingenuous at best.

Nah. For the basic physical and elemental gems the farm is pretty simple and quick. Less than three hours in every instance I've done the farm(more than ten characters). Very few people in the FCs are walking around with full blunt, thrust, fool's/poorman's, or out of shape gems.

Looking back it's crazy how much Amelia used to give me so much trouble. I just finished fighting her and completely pushed her shit in with the Cane, a weapon that I'm using for the first time for this new playthrough.

DaS3's gimmick bosses were far more interesting to me than another large humanoid fight because you had to figure out their gimmick and they had great introductions, there was something to DO other than just memorize attack patterns while an atonal orchestra yelled at you.

Also, Wolnir had the best theme. I fucking loved walking into that abyss room and hearing that theme build up as that giant skeleton face loomed over you, one of the few moments of genuine enjoyment I had in that game.

It's all over the place. Some bosses just stand still and die, some bosses don't have any problem at all, and any boss can go either way, although multi-enemy bosses are less likely to get "confused" or whatever it is, of course.

Personally, I obviously want to see more traffic here too but the games been out too long. Chalice is also a rather large barrier that keeps the player base kind separate, both in power level and actual contents.
