With 1 you can still do an 18+ damage combo
With more than 1, you need to try even less to do an insane amount of damage.
Being able to chain Dshifts, just makes the game less interactive, since literally 2 in a row is an instant loss from any position, while with just 1, you can still try and keep your health up and do other things to not lose.

I know people who played their previous games say they've been maximum jews up unitl this point, but honestly all I've seen of Cygames makes them seem like the good guys.

Can't vouch for Control sword, but as midrange I almost never skip early turns, and holding an Otohime or two for Themis is the way to go about it.

Just don't push too hard when you're winning against them and you won't find yourself BTFO from Themis. Otohime was made for that situation.

Control Sword has a decent matchup against Storm Haven because of the sheer number of wards in the deck. Storm Haven doesn't have any actual direct burn besides Garuda, and if you basically string wards together for your midgame. Themis isn't really an issue ever for Control Sword since the tempo loss from them playing it is almost always a benefit for you since you are free to spam more wards or just Otohime.

Tempo elf is a good matchup mostly because of Aurelia and White Paladin countering fairy spam and Floral Fencer putting multiple bodies on the board letting you clear theirs more easily. The only danger of facing Forest is if it actually turns out to be PtP, then you're fucked.

Well, it's an expensive deck, but the pack gods are telling you to build PtP Forest. It's a hard deck to play, though, so I don't think a new player should try it until you have a few hundred games played.

Most of your other cards are either for non-meta decks or you only have one gold for said deck. So up to you, either keep it and eventually play PtP Forest or reroll.

Because they pretty much are these days? The top decks, Storm Haven and Tempo Forest (as well as sword variants and bloodbats) all use it for more reach. In response, the slower classes always react to it to stabilize. There's no real hard decision making like you implied earlier with your greentext since DE made it a lot more binary.

Rune is the only exception since as you stated, it's more concerned with using Merlin to play solitaire than doing anything with the board.

Most times you don't draw bald priest. Most times you want to end the game before you burn out. Relying on Urd alone is a good way to lose games.

Popular evo targets are the bird, the eagle, and the rabbit for more face damage.

Regardless, evo is not exactly a complex system. You either push for more face or respond for board control. In the old days when midrange and control were more dominant, evos were certainly more flexible.
