Goon2 is probably the most balanced of the swordies R8's and is able to do a lot by themselves. Doppels require a fuckton of investment to perform well while a goon can perform quite well on mediocre funding. In the long run I'd pick goon over doppel but really it should come down to whether you want to use spears or two hand swords

Go farm tough shells and pincers in cranto coast. DPK for Pincers is about the same as spion leather but they're worth almost 3 times as much. Tough Shells go for 6-8k each and you'll get like 50-75 per hour if you're a decent DPS build.

Honestly armor break is great but not really needed. The end game mobs have maybe 500 def so as of the current game the armor break, while helping doesn't do a huge amount. I agree that both classes have their own merits but in a pve sense I would say barb wins out over highlander.

Now if IMC made the endgame mobs equal in def to mdef so they had up to 3000 mdef then hands down highlander wins, no contest there. But until that happens barbs will arguably be better than highlander.

Cata rapier is pretty cheap and not that bad as a backup weapon.

Theorycrafters, stop skipping Barb. Cleave alone gives +50 crit rate, and Epee Garde is a ridiculously good buff that applies to nearly every fencer skill. You will do more damage with pierce crits than any slash or strike skill from previous circles, against cloth and plate armor too. Even just Epee Garde + Composee crits will outdamage lower skills.

Can players dodge Kamehameha? What about One Inch Punch and Palm Strike bleeds?

So enemies have retard mage moves like Magnetic Force, Raise, and Pole of Agony, and archer moves like Spiral Arrow and that one archer move that knocks you down, but are there any sword moves you should look out for? The only dangerous thing is when certain enemies do that spin attack (e.g. Glizardons, Pawndels, Rambears). What about Ceric ones? I've never had enemies cast cure on me or anything. Do Pags use plague doctor moves now? It seems like they should.

But the question is does any enemy use any bullshit sword moves?

This is not 50k HP, and it's not 700 crit resist either. You do realize cleric/wizard does not have the same HP modifier nor HP per CON that Swordsmen do, right?

Lets assume worst case crit chance: An enemy with 200 crit resist, and a level 330 character.
400 base crit rate for this example.

(400 - 200)*(42/330) = 25.45%
(450 - 200)*(42/330) = 31.81%

+50 crit rate from cleave is a minimum 6% more chance to crit at worst. That's a 25% increase in crit chance from before. You'd crit nearly 1 in 3 hits, instead of 1 in 4. Epee Garde makes crits hit for around 4x damage compared to non-crit.

Not to mention, Cleave also greatly boosts slash damage that Barb has, and it still has Warcry and stuns anyways.

Don't want to butt in but most Barbarian skills, damage ones, scale really badly into end game no matter which one you max. Cleave is the only one you keep using so it's the one you should max.

Seism scales horribly even with the 170%. You literally take it just for the stun when dealing with AoE mob groups to keep them from moving behind you.

I agree with you on Cleave's crit rate. It's better than nothing and additive to the total crit amount. There's no reason to pick it over the other choices for a Fencer. All Barbarian skills are usable with any weapon so it's fine to pick it for a Fencer.

Seeing as IMC came back and changed Cleave and other Barbarian skills to scale better I have a feeling they will make the Aggressor buff.

It's a shame only Concentrate scales with DEX and nothing else really. I think Barbarian embodies the evasive sword character, even the outfit is full leather instead of plate so I think shit like Frenzy should gain bonus damage from DEX.

Yep, that goes back to my original point, making Fencer skills as good as possible, and since Epee Garde benefits most of them, having more crit to utilize it is important.

Reminder that if you're going to reroll a Doppel or Fencer, you absolutely should take either Pelt3 or Lander3 in it. Monster DEF in Rank8 content isn't as bad as their MDEF, but that could change on Rank9 maps. The ability to remove armor from an enemy is extremely valuable, and more futureproof than anything else the Barb kit can give you.

No, PvP has always been magnet force/links into being one hit by whatever the highest meme damage class is. Before it was unblockable CC into dark theurge or sometimes flesh cannon from the rarer necros, now it's dethrone/malleus. Only thing that changed was the current cancer.

The problem with Skull Swing is that you can't almost ever apply it for more than 3 mobs. It has a tiny as FUCK attack range and area of effect and you have to be right next to the monster to pull it off. You'll never apply it more than once or twice while grinding and never in world bossing and never in a dungeon because the mobs melt away and another mob comes in and it's on fucking 45 second cooldown.

It's ONLY usable on BOSSES in DUNGEONS. If you use the skill on a fucking world boss say goodbye to your fucking cube because you just made that Barbarian over there deal even more damage.

Don't fucking say shit about lords and how it's useful there. Those niggers have millions and millions of health and your tiny fucking helping armor break won't matter at all except make the boss go down 30 minutes faster. WHO CARES? No one cares!

If Skull Swing was passive and give only YOU armor break it would be fantastic but no, it's a buff that the fucking mob can also RESIST.

I have both High C3 and Barb C3 in the 250 range. I rerolled the Highlander because it was old meta with Pelt C1. This was before Cleave had the debuff.

I don't like Highlander. It doesn't feel that fun but I see the viability.

Bottom line is it is your Doppel skills that will do all the damage. Don't worry too much about it. Just go with whatever feels more fun for you: Skull Swing and Skyliner, or two stuns and 2 buffs.

Yes it adds the skill damage to the HP cost.
INT Transpose is a good combo for it, but keep in mind that it's gimmicky and needs setup each time.
Without a pocket healer you'll have to heal up with Blood Sucking first, then do it all over again once Transpose wears off.

skyliner is a 400% mod, with a quick 3x overheats, you can do this in less than a single second with good ping, you never saw the 240k skyliner video?

cartar stroke is a 600% damage aoe skill

you're missing the point that all those skills gets amplified by your 5k atk stats from deeds of valor buff

of course cyclone is better, but you need to fill your rotation with those skills as a doppel, and they are great, unlike fencer's who can just spam composee non stop when the big guns are in cooldown.

of cvourse, there are shit skills like seism (only one hit wit ha low 170% mod, still useful for the huge aoe stun), moulinet (only 5 hits without any % mod), helm chopper (only two hits, but still useful for stun and it's also strike) and etc

I know that INT has a lot more scaling, but building around Transpose is too fiddly for my tastes.
Needs constant refreshing, need to heal self, can be bumped off if your party is dumb.

You can only lose cards in your inventory, so if you've got them equipped you can't lose them (necromancers and sorcerers can though).
