As for the devs, they are scumbags in general who have been known to rip people off, but also randomly outsource crap to the point that there's really no way to know what you're getting with their games. It might look awful and have not-that-bad writing, it might look great and be execrable, it might have cover art that looks cool and interior art that looks like MSPaint.

Hate plus is decent but felt inferior to Analogue. While Analogue tried to add at least a bit of unusual stuff to the usual VN formula, Hate+ is just a regular VN that complains if you don't stop playing for the day when it wants you to.

Haven't tried ladykiller and I think Christian hasn't done anything other than these two since analogue.

It's not so much about the memes as the casual nature and grammar which really pisses some people off who are used to more formal writing. From what I can tell Ladykiller uses a good bit of that writing style.

As far as innovation goes the only thing I know about is that it does the dialog thing where you have choices about whether to interject or let the conversation continue, and your possible interjections fade out when they're no longer relevant to the current conversation. Oxenfree did a similar thing, though it's not a VN of course.

So, with the use of FFMPEG I made some webm movie sprites for Renpy since the internal animation function and ATL was being too slow.

Now I use def callback(event, **kwargs):

to make beeps play along with the scrolling text and then stop when the text is finished/rushed through, can I do a similar operation with a movie sprite?

Right now my movie sprites are defined as image Protag talk = Movie(channel="Protag",
play="talk.webm",
mask="talk_mask.webm")

They come up easy enough(though I do have to position them like a seperate character), but they keep looping. I want the loop to stay but only until the dialog is finished/clicked on.
