Why do you feel the need to shit so hard on people for wanting to use something else or something not seen so much? Of all the changes they did, the nerf to red shield's guard strength is what kills me the most.

And while I could play Adept, it's just nowhere near the same as 4U's aggressiveness. That unrelenting assault through spacing out your guard points and transitions just isn't there anymore

I would of gladly taken MASSIVE motion value nerfs if it meant keeping the guard strength of red shield and the "combo reset" function of guard points

Load Up is used with gimmicky Energy Blade sets, or a convenience after you've sorted other skills out.

The idea for many CB builds in MHGen is to stack raw damage modifiers and Artillery Novice/Expert for more phial damage, so just sticking with full Rathalos S and putting on Razor Sharp or stacking Attack on Seltas should be fine for normal use.

Just don't make too many glaives (not that you can make them in early game anyway), and watch a guide. I suggest pumping speed in your first one, that you will just throw away at some point.

The glaive is probably the best weapon tied to GS.

Kinsect evolving is easy if you know what you're doing, so you should search for a guide on the Balanced Kinsect path.

Other thing, IG is pretty strong and fun to use, but before G rank it may be strange and clunky because you can't get a decent Speed status until then and because of that the kinsect will be sluggish as fuck. And getting extracts is a central part of IG play, so many people recommend using other weapons until you reach mid-high Rank before even trying IG.

Also 4U is littered with the worst of the old monsters, but Gen has no variants outside deviants and Raths.
Weapons balance is fucked in 4U and CB/IG blow the other weapons out of the water. Gen has better balance for the most part but hunter arts and such kinda throw a wrench in that, though they are radical at times.

Yet I can still hunt at decent times and never cart. But I am such a scrub with how much I heal and this is probably why I'll always be a DB user.
Do people actually dodge through attacks as much as they say, or do they run around the attack by pulling back?

my experience, at least in 4U, is that hurtbox frames make dodgerolling basically useless unless you have at least evasion+1. if you do, though, you can start rolling through roars and under tigrexes and shit and it feels more like actual dodging.

The attacks that can be dodged without any evade skills are pretty few and far between.in mainline

If you want to practice or get a feel for the timing, try dodging through Gore's roar since it's one of the few you can use the standard roll's i-frames to slip through.

But it's easily personal preference in how you want to deal with attacks, by guards, evading, or just running away.

I got a lot of good charms out of the whole thing. Sharpness, Evasion, Evade Dist, Blunt, Tenderizer, Normal Up, Pierce Up, Pellet Up, Element Crit, KO, Elemental, FastCharge, and Destroyer, all triple slot, all max value. No Reload +5 OOO or Thunder Attack +10 OOO charms, though.

The save transfers are a little clunky (it permanently removes the save from one version and adds it to the other) but works just fine. Wii U has online lobbies (I've been looking for more 3U friends to play with!) and if you do experience any sort of input lag, you can always play on the gamepad alone. I wouldn't go out of my way to get a Wii U for it, though. I only have one because I got it as a gift.

How is the gunlance in mhgen? I found an evasion and artillery +10 ooo charm. I really wished that the first skill was more offense oriented than defense. Anyways, do I need to gem 15 art for shelling damage?

Also is there a way to manipulate charm tables? I noticed I was getting a lot of evasion charms then A perfect one shows up.
