killing the Deebees is really satisfying. It's cool shootin their legs off with a gnasher and watching them just stumble to bits, or shooting them in the head/torso and seeing the different prts stumble.

The animations for the deebee ticker guys are also top-notch. Watching them is cool, but you obviously don't get to admire it because you have to kill them quickly.

The microtransactions in this game have to be amongst the worst I've ever seen.

An Elite pack costs 3500 credits. Ok. You get around 50-90 credits per match, you only get peanuts when scrapping cards AND you get duplicates.

What the fuck is this shit? Even bounties reward you with pennies. Nothing is unlocked with progression, not even simple BASIC characters like Marcus. On top of that, even the crates are $4.99. This game requires hours and hours of gameplay to open 1 elite crate. What were they thinking? They even updated the payout by 30%, but 30% of 50 credits a match ain't shit.

It's not just about the skins you autistic piece of shit. It's about PROGRESSION. Unlocking stuff. There is 0 progression in this fucking game. We have nothing to work towards unless you want to painfully grind for hours on end for 1 pack. How do they think they will keep a population when they feel they aren't progressing or being rewarded for their playtime?

They should have had crates be reward for level milestones and have stuff like vanilla characters unlocked by progression.

It's 2016. It's pretty much expected that games with a multiplayer component have some sort of progression to reward players for their playtime and keep players interested.

Microtransactions aren't always so bad, most of the time I can ignore them but looking at Halo 5s payouts compared to gears I'm left scratching my head. Halo 5 has a ton more content to unlock, so theres that. However, Halo 5 doesn't have duplicates and it doesn't automatically mean that you should earn 50 credits a match when cosmetic packs cost thousands. They're obviously adding more shit like Halo too, considering a lot of the cosmetic garbage has shit like started and launch in the descriptions

Thats because Gears was the first game and it came out in a time before progression was fully solidified as something to be expected. As I've said, it's hard to ignore when something like customization has been completely shit on. I've got 2 days of play time so far and I'm enjoying it, somehow I'm not allowed to point out that fact that the coalition have horrendously implemented their microtransactions? It's not about dignity or taste, it's about getting a message across to the developers to fix their shit. Look at the forums, the bitching has already made them lower the elite packs to 3500 credits and raise the credits gained each match. It may be trivial for you but come down from your high horse. Customization is a big thing for a lot of people when it comes to video games
